Politics › Re: Defeating Insecurity Requires More Than Firepower by occfx: 5:48pm On May 28 |
Estello: The recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State has once again drawn national attention to Nigeria’s security challenges, triggering public concern and widespread reactions across social media platforms. While such incidents naturally generate fear and anger, they also often create narratives that overshadow the extensive efforts being made by security agencies on ground.
According to military authorities, in response to the incident, swift moves were made directing immediate reinforcement of security operations in the affected area, deploying aerial surveillance assets and specialized ground troops in collaboration with other security agencies.
It also suggested ongoing operations are already yielding valuable intelligence as troops intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe recovery of victims.
Beyond the headlines and online commentaries, the reality remains that security operations against kidnappers and criminal networks are complex and intelligence-driven. Across the country, troops continue sustained offensives against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements under difficult and dangerous conditions.
While public frustration over insecurity is understandable, security experts warn that exaggerated narratives and misinformation can unintentionally create panic and undermine public confidence. Criminal groups often exploit fear and media amplification to project strength beyond their actual operational capacity.
As troops sustain surveillance and ground operations in affected communities, the incident also serves as a reminder that defeating insecurity requires more than firepower. Public cooperation, credible intelligence sharing, and responsible communication remain critical in supporting national security efforts.
For many Nigerians, the expectation now is clear — not only the safe rescue of victims, but continued evidence that security agencies remain proactive, responsive, and determined in confronting evolving threats across the country. If not that igbos think the military is compromised and refuses to join army... sending igbos in the Nigerian army to fight terrorism would have yielded good result. |

[quote author=EmmyMaestro post=139518072]“I will shut up immediately if my man tells me to” — Lady sparks fierce debate on respect in relationships
A woman has triggered widespread reactions on social media after expressing her views on respect and obedience in romantic relationships, particularly regarding how partners should behave in public settings.
Lady defends strict relationship obedience stance
The lady made the comments during a viral discussion on relationship expectations, where she emphasized that she would immediately stop talking if instructed by her partner, especially when around friends or family.
Her statement has since fueled heated debates online about respect, communication boundaries, and gender roles in modern relationships.
“Call me a pick me but if my man tells me to shut up I’m shutting up immediately. With immediate effect I’m shutting up. Especially if we’re outside, we’re in the midst of friends or family or people, I’m shutting up. I can be a lion behind the scenes but you see if we are outside, I become a rat beside my babe. If you know you cannot respect your man, please just stay single,” she added.
Public reactions split over submission and respect
She further argued that being in a relationship comes with full respect for one’s partner, stating that men have the right to correct their partners when necessary.
Her comments have since divided social media users, with some agreeing with her views on submission while others criticized what they described as encouragement of unhealthy relationship dynamics.
“Call me pick me but if my man tells me to shut up in public, I’m not saying a word cause he deserves the respect. It might not be the case home. If you can’t move this way remain single!! They didn’t force you to date a man you can’t respect”

[quote author=EmmyMaestro post=139496095]“We sleep outside and barely eat, yet I will stand by my husband” — Lady says
A woman has moved many social media users after sharing her struggle with homelessness and poverty while insisting she would never abandon her husband despite their difficult condition.
The lady narrated how she and her husband reportedly travelled a long distance to Abuja in search of a better life but have been homeless since January.
According to her, the couple now sleep outside and often struggle to find food, yet she remains committed to staying with her husband because of the love and bond they share.
Woman says family abandoned her over marriage Speaking emotionally, the woman explained that some members of her family turned against her because she refused to leave her husband for another man despite their financial hardship.
“I cannot leave my husband for any reason. Because of him, all my family members abandoned me. We’ve been homeless since January and we sleep outside, but I’ll never leave my husband. We barely see food to eat and people laugh at us as if we are nothing.”
Couple holding on to faith The woman further revealed that her grandmother chased her out of the house after she refused pressure to marry someone else.
She added that her husband was financially stable before she became pregnant for him, but circumstances later changed.
“He was not this poor when I got pregnant for him, but regardless, I have decided to stay with him. We’ve been praying and I know God will come through for us,” she added.
The touching story has since generated reactions online, with many Nigerians praising her loyalty while others called for support for the struggling couple.

Romance › Re: Why Is It That People Find It Hard To Approach Me, Is It My Aura? by occfx: 6:41pm On May 24 |
KiNg0G: Over the years I have only had two friend in my entire life..I can't make new friends not like I care to. But I have always noticed since I was a teenager, people just stare and keep their distance. Like it starting to feel like I have some kind of demon that keeps people away at a far distance. I think I am the problem, I don't talk much.. I don't mingle, in fact I hate public settings and if you stare at me too much, from that day on me and you Will have beef in my mind... Because I might think you've heard one or two about me.
To cut this short, I am in my mid 30s right now and just can't help to notice like it seems I am the problem. I have lived in my current residence for 6years and not one single friend going down the street they all just stare. Men and women, boy's and girls...It's almost like my aura or the vibe I give is not welcoming, is keeping a straight face a bad thing..or is minding my business bad. It's almost like a spirit possessed me from childbirth keeping people afar.
Someone that I haven't talked to before might decide to keep malice with me like so many people.. frowning face whenever eyes meet and you can see from those eyes the hatred. Like I wonder what's this problem.. meanwhile there's another guy right there who might be in same place and within a second knows everyone..I think this is spiritual Introverts are like that but trust me, you don't need friends. The loss is bigger than the gain. If you want people to come to you, be a womanizer and you will start having friends. Seeing you with women will open that channel but you don't need it. Just make money and everybody will want to come close. |

Abbeytoy: Last year, I posted about the Ram my stepmother got for me cheaply even when my mom does not support dealing with her; this year follow suit, and she has delivered another banger.
Although I have walked around the market to price Ram, unfortunately the price is so outrageous, and I can't even stand it.
This gives me the idea to plan my budget, and I gave her 800k for 3 rams with the hope that if I am not comfortable, I will buy one Ogunfe to support it. And here is what she delivered...
Seriously, I don't know how to appreciate her enough, but my mom is not comfortable with the RAM and said it's too small for that amount...
All this, my mother doesn't go out or know what things are being said in the market, but she keeps annoying me with her resistance to the good gesture of my stepmother.
Please, what do you guys think about the price?
