No place like Lagos. The charisma, exposure, social life and opportunities are enormous

I must admit, I did enjoy my childhood holidays in Lagos (Victoria Island in the 90s). But as an adult, I can't stand the Lagos crowd and traffic. That's why I prefer my Akwa Ibom state.

The only state I've not visited is Borno.

If not for religious madness, North is the best part of Nigeria.

The Hausas/Northerners are the most simple and honest people on the planet.

I enjoyed the vast open land, I hated their extreme weather conditions, and as for food, I'm intolerance to other cultures food. I've never tasted any food outside my culture.

As for the other parts of Nigeria, I don't want to say much...

Nigeria is a beautiful country, and it's naturally blessed.

TRUE. If you're in love with cheap living, nature and STUNNING landscapes, the north is your best bet. I lived and worked in Taraba, and was blessed to have travelled across the state, and I must say that it has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country.

Okay, let's see.....I've visited and lived in the following..

Akwa Ibom
Cross River
Rivers
Bayelsa
Enugu
Anambra
Delta
Imo
Benue
Taraba
Plateau
Abuja/FCT
Lagos
Ekiti
Ondo
Osun
Ogun
Kogi
Adamawa

And my best state.............Rivers (Port Harcourt to be precise). But I must say that there's something about Cross River (Calabar) that keeps drawing me back..strange..

Let's be fair here, how do we know that's a fold phone in the 1st place? For al we know, she may be holding 2 phones and the phone(s) may not even be the Samsung brand. And the watch? C'mon we've seen cheap watches with red bands. This story is basically trouble over a non issue.
Career / Re: Guys, I Am Worried. Leaving Family Behind-transferred To Lagos by ocelot2006(m): 5:27pm On Sep 12, 2023
charles009:

Folks, in a few days I will be leaving for Lagos . I currently live in Enugu, amazing city. I can move my family, but Wify advised the kids stay back in Enugu for at least another year to enable me settle. For the first time since I got married 7 years ago, I will be leaving my relatively young family behind. I love my children to bits and immensely enjoy every second I share with them. Our bond is so strong. The feeling of staying a day without my babies is completely indescribable. Although I intend to visit Enugu at least once weekly.

Guys please encourage me.

I've been there and I must say that I totally agree with your wife on the need to settle down first before you move your family. The downside though is the home sickness and the cost of maintaining 2 homes in the interim. Just give yourself no later than a year to settle down (a few months should do) then move your family to join you.
Politics / Re: George Galloway Carpets A President Tinubu Fan Who Called On TV by ocelot2006(m): 3:27pm On Sep 12, 2023
The fan picked on the wrong person. This is the same Galloway that took on the US Senate when he was called for a hearing in the early 2000s and THOROUGHLY humiliated the Republican Senators on global TV. That's the man one small sycophantic fan called to warn?? Mistake.

Oh well, I guess that will defuse that awkwardness when China and India have to stare at each other in the 4-member meeting grin grin

.....but I don't think Iran is a good idea, I know they have oil but they're too much of a political liability.

They bring way more than just oil. You forget the Iran is basically the Shia Muslim powerhouse with influence that stretches far. Throw in the fact that they can influence things at the Strait of Homuz, a major shipping line, especially for energy. I think Iran's inclusion makes sense.

Why ? Of what benefit are they to us right now ?

I for one prefer a multipolar world were a single block isn't in control or able to weaponize their currencies, trade, platform, etc.
