rexel99: Army on which run? Are you even following what's happening on the Ukrainian battlefield presently? Same Russian Army that's advancing in the Donetsk front, is lobbing artillery shells down range in and around Kherson city from the Eastern bank of the Dnieper road, and has practically halted whatever Ukrainian offensive up north at the Luhansk border? That's the force "on the run"? Nna, keep dreaming. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Wagwanbrethren: If you believe that story, then I have a bridge at Abagana to sell you. Why will "hundreds" Wagner want to attck a US Special Forces outpost in Syria in the 1st place? What was the motive? Keep in mind that the Russians already had a powerful force stationed in Syria, including Russian KSSO units (Russian SOCOM troops) and could've inflicted a world of hurt if they needed to. |

Toktee: The Russians have practically wiped out Ukrainians previous weapons inventory. The human loss on the Ukrainian military is simply atrocious with reports of 10 Ukrainian deaths to 1 Russian loss. Its so bad that the Ukrainians have already carried out over 8 mobilizations and still counting; Russia has carried just ONE and it is a PARTIAL MOBILIZATION. Ukrainian industrial base is TOTALLY DESTROYED and they have to rely on NATO help for basic ammo and weapons. Basically EVERYTHING presently used by the Ukrainians comes from NATO and other donations. The Russianson the other hand still have many viable military industries that have now been geared towards the conflicts excalation PLUS a sizeable war chest to back their operations. Apart from Ukraine's power infrastructure, the Russians had already dealt considerable damage to Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This winter will definitely be terrible. Frankly the Ukrainians at this point should be thankful the Russians didn't go all Chechnya 3.0 on them. But now all forms of pity are out the window. The Russians are baying for blood and have already slowly escalated. With additional 300,000 reserves coming in by the end of this November, and winter hardening the grounds by mid to end December, we may likely see a new phase of Russian operations. That's why the Americans are pushing and hoping for a freeze to the conflict. |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Kherson : Ukrainian Military Rain Down Missiles On Fleeing Russian Soldiers by ocelot2006(m): 3:36am On Nov 13, 2022 |
Raining missiles indeed. Let's see the drone shots of the missile strikes. The fact remains that the Russians pulled a military feat pulling out 30,000 of it's elite forces from Kherson along with 5000 units of heavy equipment from the west bank to the east. Not only that, they held back the Ukrainian force about 40-60km away with artillery strikes as the Russians pulled out their last men and blew up the bridge. The Ukrainians are basically trying to spin the story as if they were hot on the heels of the Russians, when the Ukrainians know very well that they were scared of even going after same force, especially after same force beat back the Ukranian counter offensives back multiple times. 3 Likes |

texazzpete: Hawks? The fact that the Americans supplied the Ukrainians with refurbished 1960s Hawk tech clearly shows that the west is scrambling to address the Russian missile strike threat. Even the S300 is way more effective, yet whatever is remaining is being knocked out by the Russians who btw made them. Keep in the mind that the NASAMs supplied are basically for point defences only in Kyiv, are very few, and can be easily be overwhelmed. That's why the Russians carried out missile strikes on the cheap, using swarms of very cheap Geran drones followed by Kalibre missiles, and have so far knocked off Ukrainian air defences and 30-40% of it's power infrastructure. The RuAF are even using these cheap Geran drones to lure in Ukrainian Airforce who use the Mig-29s and Su-27s to intercept these drones only to have them knocked down beyond visual range by Russian MIG-31s (there're even talks of the Su-57 Felons carrying out long distant kills). To make matters worse, the Russians have acquired more potent kamikaze drones from the drones with much larger payloads. Meanwhile, another Russian loiter munition, the Lancet drone, is busy wrecking havoc on the Ukrainians in the battlefields across Ukraine. So far the Lancet and German have proven to be far more effective than the American switchblade drones given to the Ukrainians. 1 Like |

Hehehehehe. This is what I call super story. Terms of surrender ke? That Russia has to give up Crimea?? Home of it's Naval Black Sea fleet for HUNDREDS OF YEARS? Whoever concorted this tale by moonlight needs his head checked then rechecked. That fantasy ain't happening AT ALL. And all this crap is coming out of the Kherson withdrawal. I think a number of things should be pointed out: (1)Prior to the announced withdrawal, it is on record that Ukraine were NEVER able to defeat Russia militarily in western Kherson. Every Ukrainian counter attack till date where TOTALLY REPULSED (Russian Airborne and Naval Infantry no bi dia mate). (2)The Russian military command had always been pushing for that withdrawal since June as it made more tactical sense moving them to the east thus making resupplies easier. Still even with Ukrainian HIMARS attack, the Russians still kept their troops resupplied. (3)Even with the way western media houses are spinning the Kherson withdrawal as a "humiliating defeats" and all what not, western military experrts are grudgingly accepting the fact that Gen Surovikin's decision to pull his force to the east bank made PERFECT tactical sense. Not only that, the Russians had achieved a major military feat pulling out 30,000 of some of it's elite forces and 5,000 pcs of heavy equipment in an orderly fashion. Not only that, the eastern bank is on a much higher elevation, giving the Russian artillery much better advantage. (4)No matter how the Ukrainians try to spin this, they were equally shocked with the Russian military's decision. That's why they were extremely cautious in their approach as they beaten back so many times by same Russian force that was withdrawing. Even when they finally grew some balls to press on push forward, Russian mines and artillery strikes held them back about 40-60km before the Russians pulled their final forces and blew up both bridges across the Dnieper, effectively halting any Ukrainian advance eastwards. (5) despite leaving Kherson city and it's environs at the western back, Russia still holds 60% of the Kherson Oblast. Now Russia has an additional 30,000 elite force that it can now redeploy to the Donbass to clear the stalemate. And let's not forget the 300,000 reserve that may likely be deployed in theatre by the end of this November or a bit later. We're talking about additional offensives in the making. Even with the 80,000 already deployed a few weeks ago, the Russians are already making gains in the Donetsk region. So you'll pardon me if I consider that story as outright hogwash. The Russians are just warming up for a brutal winter war. 2 Likes |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Russia Orders Troops To Withdraw From Kherson City by ocelot2006(m): 11:32pm On Nov 09, 2022 |
Well, the Russians did hold that part of the Kherson Oblast quite successfully for months. The pullback honestly makes sense as the river will definitely serve as a natural barrier. Besides, Gen. Suruviken did say that he'll make hard decisions to protect his men. That said, I don't see this pullback/retreat going down well in Russia and will likely hurt Putin and the already mauled reputation and morale of the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Federation at large. Any offensive against Mykolaiv and Odessa are now officially off the table. Oh be rest assured that the west and Ukraine will play this continuously and fully utilize it in their information war. The question now is: what's next? A huge chunk of Russia's mobilized force will be entering the theatre of operation very soon, so what will the Russian High Command do next? 9 Likes |

richeeyo: A question: do you really think the Russians never made any arrangements to address issues of chip shortage (same way the Chinese Huawei did during Trump's embargo)? We're not talking about some backwater nation here but the RUSSIAN FEDERATION, a MAJOR technological and military power, and an energy SUPERPOWER. You think they never stockpiled large amounts of chips, or obtained these chips covertly from China? Keep in mind that the Russian Federation has a budding semiconductor industry, although not as sophisticated as that of the USA or ultimately Taiwan. 2 Likes |

GeneralPula: What nuclear weapons did Putin change to? Are those nuclear weapons? If Russia decides to employ the use of even tactical nukes, a considerable chunk of Ukraine will be radioactive glasslands. And speaking of Russian Army failure, you better follow current events on the ground. Russian military is on a limited counter offensive in the east and basically repelled a major Ukraine offensive in the south. Meanwhile major Russian military fists are forming up north and down south. The Russians will soon begin. |

......what trap? I don't get this post. If anything, this conflict has shown how fed some are with the present world order. If Saudi Arabia can reject America's demand to pump in more oil into the global market, and goes on along with Russia to do otherwise, then America's influence is clearly waning. If Russia alone can engage NATO combined in a proxy, but is able to take this much territory and wreck havoc, then the US led NATO have a lot of thinking to do. |

Obrigardo: Those are not "inexperienced" troops in Krasny Lyman. Unlike normal Russian tactics of withdrawing to a second line of defense, the Russian troops at Krasny Lyman are still holding the area and settlements up north despite the tactical encirclement. The Ukrainians are have basically gone through the area of least resistance, yet they still can't crack Lyman. Something is brewing on the Russians' end... |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Russia Has Fallen by ocelot2006(m): 10:55pm On Sep 29, 2022 |
Russia's bound to have some issues with it's mobilization, but it comes as no surprise AT ALL. The Americans had exactly the same issue at the height of the Iraqi Insurgency that followed the 2nd Iraq War. Americans had issues with mobilization of National Guard units for deployment and even dissertations to Canada and co, plus considerable retirements that they had to implement the STOP-LOSS program. Russia will go through same, but so far they've implemented measures to address these problems, and they've already exceeded their goal of 300,000 men. You should be worried more about the Ukrainians cos s@#t just got real. The Bear just took off the kid gloves. |
