I do not envy his position as governor. It must be difficult being the governor of that state. Especially, concerning the land issue.

Anyway I love Cameroon. Sexy guys grin

Do not come into a Naija forum and talk about that nonsense! angry Anyway, we Igbos and other Eastern groups are similar to the good people of Cameroon, so they get their looks from us. grin Only a border is separating us.

she signed with cash money  shocked shocked oh dear. thats not a good move at all. maybe she was strapped for cash

It was actually a very good move for her. The La Doña album was her highest charting album of her career. Cash Money and Young Money is taking over. Baby knows what he is doing.

Remember she signed with Cash Money a few years ago.

Well she was always on the wild side. She was Rick James protege.  La Doña was a great album. I am still surprised that she would sign with Cash Money.

She died quite young. She was only 54.

@Ochi-Agha: You really think I made a certain statement because there 'was' a certain 'beef' (which I don't even remember) between us? You must really attach a lot of undue importance to your person. If you really think that I remember you once I log off NL you must be smoking some really potent ish. 'Ask the Bini', u say? Do I sound like someone that needs tutelage about Edo Culture or its people? I am not one of those that promotes ethnic superiority or just talks rubbish that I know not about. I speak with facts at hand; nothing is supposition when it comes to laying down my points. Oh, another group you should refrain from asking me about are the Fulanis and Yorubas, except of course you somehow manage to have those ethnicities in your immediate lineage. As per your "Former Southern Nigerian Republics" Utopia,  You advocate a nation made up of what remains of the former Southern Nigeria; your position is hypocritical. You have stated numerous times, in unequivocal terms, how much you despise the Yorubas (you think they are the bane to your development). Why then do you want a country with a group of people with whom you seem to be in constant 'bitter' (as opposed to 'friendly') competition with? I read numerous comments by you and the likes of Onlytruth that seem to advocate "Eastern Development", not because they think it will actually help the Igbos, but because they fervently hope the opening of establishments such foreign embassies/companies, and facilities such as airports and ports in the east, will drive business out of Lagos, cripple its economy, and eventually destroy its economy. With the vile riles of 'Us v Them' which you guys' posts are usually filled with, why then do you insist on living with them in a new country?

You singled out my post even though many people in this thread have been singing the same tune. That is why I said you are carrying your beef with me on another thread onto this thread. I am pretty sure you have forgot our little squabble, so do act so oblivious to what has previously occurred. You get offended, because I told you to ask the Bini people how they feel about political alignment with the Yoruba? I do not know your personal history, nor I care. Like most people in the internet, they can say whatever they wish to be, and I would not care. You could be a Shuwa Arab person. I still wouldn't care. And there is nothing hypocritical about my wish for a Southern Nigeria Federation. I have not spoke ill will against the Yoruba nation, nor have I mocked any Yoruba on Nairaland. Go through all my post and you will not find any mockery of any group. I may talk about the development of Igboland, but that doesn't mean I am a tribalist. The burden of proof is on you to prove a tribalistic posting that I have done on Nairaland. And there is nothing wrong with advocating for "Eastern Development." There is a need for development in the East and I will continue to advocate it. If you have a problem with that, then you can go screw yourself. I do not see any competition with Lagos either. For one thing, I think the city is an overcrowded trash heap that is overrated. I prefer cities such as Enugu or Abuja to Lagos. But that does not mean an "US vs. Them" mentality. I do not view through tribal lens, because it is bad for business to be honest. All I see is future customers. Tribalism is bad for business and I will continue to reiterate it.

Shebi the SEasterns are trying to claim the middle belt, and what not?

Why cant some of these MBelters gradually start migrating into SE. They'll be welcomed. no?
Just like the People of Egba.

Where in my post do you see me claiming the Middle Belt? I am simply stating that they need a nation of their own. See I was going to give you a nice compliment about one of your post, but now, I just don't know.

Everyone is welcomed to the South-East. As long as they follow local customs, then there should not be any problem.

but how does splitting the nation solve the killing? thats what i said before, you'll just draw a white line on the ground but the killing will continue.

if you want to solve a problem you dont avoid it like you guys are suggesting, you go after it. be implementing a real security present in the region and not the joke security force that we have now in jos.

What do you mean how will it solve the killings? If these people are in separate nations, then it solves itself. Middle Belt people are suffering in they need their own nation. The Hausa-Fulani are trying to kick them off their ancestral land. If the good people of the Middle Belt had a nation of their own, they can force these Hausa-Fulani to go back to their homeland.

Drawing a line in a sand sometimes does help.

You have not given me a solid reason why this nation should be kept as one.

if you believe nigeria has not changed then i'm sorry, but the fact is nigeria of today is better than the nigeria of 1960. you can argue blindly about   the facts, data, reports and first hand experience about it. yes nigeria is no wonder land, but it has improved as is still improving. and to say that i'm the one who cann't face the truth is just ignorance. since anyone can easliy obtain the information that nigeria is improving.

the only reason why this thread was created was because the op is brainwashed by islamophobia and the natural lust that Nigerians have for bad news. i've been on nairaland long enough to witness that every time something bad happens in nigeria some one always create one of these silly splitting thread. go look in the nairaland archives and you'll see lots of these. but every time good news is posted about nigeria nobody response to the post. they all turn a blind eye, same with islamophobia. when christians attack muslims no body post and every one turns a blind eye, but when muslims attack it becomes a hot topic.

How is the Nigeria of today, different from the Nigeria of 1960? We have more corruption in Nigeria today, than in the 1st Republic. This is a fact. Nigerian leaders of yesterday cared about their people, today, they only care about enriching themselves. Don't you see the difference? What is improving in Nigeria? The average Nigerian is dirt poor. In addition, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening as we speak. I do not see progress.

I don't care nor do I know the reason why the OP created this thread. However, I am not going to stick to a dream that Nigeria needs to be united. I used to think like you. Nigeria has so much potential. However, you cannot create a nation out of a people with different histories. Give me an example of a nation that is advancing that has people who have different history. And you better not use the United States, because that nation was built on immigrants. Only a fool will say the house is not on fire, when the house is clearly about to burn up.

To save lives, Nigeria must be split. It is as simple as that. I care about my fellow humans.

i think you ment to write shouldnt.

anyway if nigeria splits, your problems will still be there. you wwont solve anything because all you did was draw a white line in the ground. how would splitting solve our power problem or corruption. if there is a problem you go after it, and you dont do something as silly as plit.

ex. there is a house on fire, what do you do. instead of solving the problem by calling the fire department or getting water, you decide to argue who started it. you then decided which furniture belongs to you and which belongs to you roommate. mind you the house is still on fire. so what do you gain? nothing your house is till on fire.

and for the fact that you said nigeria hasnt changed since independence is pure ignorance. nigeria has accomplished many things. yes nigeria is not developed but it is developing. we has has a steady economic growth through out this decade and we are witnessing the rise of the middle class. if you continue i could easily spam this theard with articles and data that nigeria is developing.

My post was corrected as soon, as I saw my mistake. You just didn't see it. Anyway. . .

No nation is without problems. However, you do not see in civilized nations, people getting killed because of their religion or ethnicity. This is peculiar to many developing nations. And you use the example of corruption. Corruption is everywhere. The most corrupt nation in the world is considered by many is the U.S. There are just different types of corruption. Some are seen blatantly, while other corrupt activities are hidden from the public. So your example is a moot point.

Nigeria has not change. Why do you think people are nostalgic for the leaders of old? Yorubas wish Awolowo was still amongst us. Northerners wish Ahmadu Bello and Balewa was still amongst us. And Igbos wish Dr. Michael Okpara was still amongst us. Nothing has changed in Nigeria. Nigeria has actually gotten worse. But you seem like a guy who hates to face the truth and keeps his head in the sand.

And can you give us one good reason why Nigeria shouldn't split? Nigeria is a failure. Has much changed since the days of Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello or Nnamdi Azikiwe?

As long as Igwe Ocha (Port Harcourt) remains in Igbo hands, I do not care what happens. Enugu, Port Harcourt and Umuahia (Hometown) and maybe Owerri will be my base.

The Nigerian situation is lamentable, $300 billion dollars have been mis-managed since the mid 1970's and yet the only defence u have in other to counter what the guy is saying is holding onto some fairy tale stories of Egypt. The Egyptians are Arabs and not Blacks.

Can you imagine the new Governor of Ekiti State declaing assets worth over £3 million pounds and yet the said man has not one factory or business that is employing Nigerians. How do u acquire such a wealth when u are not engage or involve in any known economic activity
.

You are wrong about Egyptians. Most Egyptians are indeed indigenous Africa. Some may consider themselves Arab, but they are more African than anything else. Anwar Sadat is a representative of an Egyptian who was indigenous Africa.

But the guy you are supporting is a known fool and Uncle Tom in the U.S. Could you have picked a better spokesperson, because this guy gets no respect from any black in America. He even had a problem with President Obama.

You know the guy in this video is used as a tool against Black Americans in the U.S. He is seen as a re-tard by many people. The man even had a problem with Obama.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Needs To Split Urgently! by OchiAgha2(m): 9:55pm On Dec 26, 2010
The only split I would accept for Nigeria is between North and South. Say what you like or dislike about the rivalry between Igbo and Yorubas, but the fact is, many Igbos are comfortable with Yoruba and vice versa for goodness sake. It is just on Nairaland, that people pretend to hate each other.
