Heyyyy, i live in Canada too, in a province called MANITOBA which by the way will be a horrible place to visit during the winter because it gets EXTREMLY COLD then. Right now, we're siting at -11⁰, but trust me, i have seen worse. It got as low as -50⁰ last winter. Isn't it suprising that i still live?   it's nice during the summer though. It gets as warm as it does back in Nigeria. I so miss Nigerian weather.
so anyway, @Hotstepper if you plan on comming to Canada, come pay me a visit sometime ok? It doesn't have to be in the summer, you can come in the winter too, i've got spare warm clothing just for you

@ pearldrops: girl, it's not like we don't want to help or don't care or something, but besides the fact that your story is indeed strange, it seems like you had given him the yellow light, what makes you think he won't be expecting the green light?? so it's kind of hard to say something.  Ok, repeating my self again, try talking to this guy face to face. He's only human right? tell him straight up that you don't want to marry him because you don't love him. If you think he might get violent in the process, take a friend along so your safety is ensured. Better yet, meet him at an open place, you know like a restaurant or something.
Thruth is, i'm really inexperienced with situations like this, but i am just trying to help. I'm pretty sure there's an older aunt, uncle, or brother or sister or at least someone you could confide in who could at least steer you in the right direction. Mean while, don't forget to commit all of this to God in prayers. if you go to church, you could confide in your pastor or something. All the best girl!!

@teeluv: yeah yeah yeah! bad things do happen to people but that still dosen't justify their behaviour if it is inappropriate! I do sympathize with him on his misfortune earlier in life though.
