Sunday's Premier League clash between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea: The hosts could be without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as he continues to struggle with the hamstring problem that forced him to withdraw from Belgium duty over the international break, whilst Andreas Christen is a doubt with a groin niggle. Ross Barkley is still not ready to return from a hamstring injury of his own, whilst David Luiz remains unavailable. Tottenham: Mauricio Pochettino claims star man Harry Kane could feature, just three weeks after he suffered ankle ligament damage, but midfielder Harry Winks will miss the game due to an ankle injury. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte: "It is an important game. Our target is to reach the Champions League and then the final of the FA Cup. If we win we go close to Tottenham, if we don't then not so close with seven games. "Nothing is impossible. With this run I put in Liverpool and we have to try to win every game, not to make mistakes and not drop points." Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "There is still a lot of games to play, but always it's important for your confidence, motivation - to win at Chelsea would be fantastic but for sure it will be a very tough game. They are a very good team, great quality and always it's tough to compete with them. "For us, three points would be fantastic and put us in a very good position in the table." Saturday's Premier League fixture as Swansea travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. Manchester United: With a two-point lead and a game in hand over third place Liverpool, Jose Mourinho's men will be eager to kick on and cement their position as admirable runners-up. With Luke Shaw on the ropes at Old Trafford, it'll be interesting to see whether he makes the cut with Ashley Young having suffered a knock on international duty. Daley Blind (ankle) and Sergio Romero (knee) will both sit this one out for the Red Devils. Swansea: In 14th place, but still just three points above the drop, manager Carlos Carvalhal will know that any unexpected points his side can pick up will be pivotal in the Swans' bid for survival. They go into this one as the underdogs, but they certainly love giant-killing and have already beaten Liverpool and Arsenal this season. Angel Rangel (groin), Renato Sanches (hamstring), Wilfried Bony (knee) and Leroy Fer (achilles) make up Swansea's extensive injury list. Jordan Ayew will serve the last game of a three match ban for his horror tackle on Huddersfield's Jonathan Hogg. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "We will face a team that are very well organised, especially from a defensive point of view. Swansea are dangerous on the counter-attack." Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal: "For this game 99.99 per cent of people will see them as favourites. But the 0.01 per cent - me and my team - think we can achieve points." https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/manchester-united-vs-swansea-preview.html |
Saturday's Premier League clash betweek Crystal Palace and Liverpool at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace: James Tomkins and Wilfried Zaha will likely be absent having picked up minor injuries over the international break, while Alexander Sorloth faces a late fitness test following a hamstring injury. The only other absentees will be Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann and Bakary Sako who have been on the 'Eagles' long term injury list for some time. Liverpool: Emre Can will miss out after he was injured on international duty, as will Joe Gomez who had to be substituted off during England's win over Holland. However, Nathaniel Clyne could be back after having returned to first team training. Crystal Palace Roy manager Hodgson: "Zaha hasn't been training to any great extent as we're nursing his knee. We hope the knee will be okay, but we've had to be cautious after he played against Huddersfield Town, as he came back much earlier than expected from injury." Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "[Palace are] difficult. I saw their 95mins v Man United. They are in a good shape. Roy is doing a fantastic job there. It was the most difficult job to take with nil points, nil goals." Read More:https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/crystal-palace-vs-liverpool-preview-and.html |
Any opportunity to make easy money in Nigeria, as experiences have taught us to avoid get-rich-quick schemes, or face the ultimate certainty of losing your investment and profit. Schemes like MMM, Diamond Cash Club etc. lured Nigerians into investing by promising to generate huge returns without any justification or reason for the perceived boom until the burst of the Ponzi scheme. Similarly, Bitcoin has experienced a boom in Nigeria but unlike Ponzi schemes, Bitcoins are still in use and accepted. The creation of Bitcoin by the originating community was in response to the 2008 financial crisis and the principle behind this action was a strong libertarian and anti-establishment spin; in many ways this was similar to the open-source culture, with strong anti-commercial values. In Nigeria, Bitcoin adoption was in response to the 2016 financial crisis, which limited international trading due to the insufficiency of foreign currencies. The common factor for Bitcoins in both Nigeria and the USA is the isolation from financial crisis and that it serves as a great medium for exchange during these times. The implication of this trend is that while currencies are at the risk of government interferences, Bitcoin does not follow this trend. It’s been nearly a decade and yet there is still no end in sight. No, it’s not the Samsung vs. Apple patent circus, which seems to have mostly died down. This one is between Google and Oracle and the final results could have widespread repercussions across the entire software industry. The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit just ruled that Google, in fact, violated Oracle’s copyrights when it used Java API in Android and could end up owing the Java owner more than $8.8 billion in damages. The legal drama between the two tech giants is definitely worth a documentary or even a film, especially given how it practically divided the software community into camps. Unlike the Samsung v Apple cases, the principles and laws involved will affect more than just Android and Google but the entire software and tech industry as a whole. And, of course, it will eventually trickle down to consumers as well. At the very heart of the legal battle is the principle of fair use and the question of whether APIs can be cpyrighted in the first place. APIs, short for Application Programming Interfaces, are basically like shortcuts or entries in a table of contents for a recipe book. They themselves don’t contain code but point to code that actually performs certain functions. Programmers use APIs in order to avoid having to rewrite pieces of code over and over again, which could lead to errors that are harder to spot when they’re scattered all over the place. Friday's friendly between Italy and Argentina at the Etihad. Italy: Gianluigi Buffon has reversed his international retirement and will likely line up between the sticks for the 'Azzurri' while Gian Marco Ferrari, Federico Chiesa and Patrick Cutron are all in with a chance of making their debuts. Giorgio Chiellini had to withdraw from the squad due to injury and was replaced by Angelo Ogbonna. Argentina: Sergio Aguero will not feature for 'La Albiceleste' as he recovers from a knee problem but uncapped Fabricio Bustos, Maximiliano Meza, Pablo Perez and Lautaro Martinez could make their first appearances in Friday's game. Italy manager Luigi Di Biagio: "Despite the great disappointment of November (1-0 aggregate loss to Sweden in the two-leg World Cup playoff), there is no other way but to look forward. We can't change the past". "We're not among the best national teams but we're not among the worst, either. If we can start again with a little bit of patience, we can rebuild a strong national team because we have young players who are still developing and improving." Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli: "We are candidates to win the World Cup: we cannot deny our essence. The respect that this 'Seleccion' (national team) generates is very great, and I want to promote that". "This is much more Messi's team than mine. Leo is in his maturity stage, he trained incredibly and encouraged everyone". Read More: https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/italy-vs-argentina-preview-and-possible.html |
Friday's friendly between Russia and Brazil at the Luzhniki Stadium. Russia: Winger Denis Cheryshev is in line for his first appearance for the national side since 2015 after returning to training but they will be without big-names Viktor Vasin, Artem Dzyuba and Aleksandr Kokorin. Brazil: The 'Selecao' will be missing their talisman Neymar as he continues his recovery from a foot injury while Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose could be handed his debut after receiving his first international call-up. Russia manager Stanislav Cherchesov: "The way things are going, we are losing a key player to injury every month. Now our job is to end all the moaning about our losses and have excellent preparations for the World Cup." Brazil manager 'Tite': "All of the players are performing well, it's going to be very difficult to pick my final squad for the World Cup. I'm trying to give everyone a chance to show what they can do." Read More: https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/russia-vs-brazil-preview-and-possible.html |

Mohamed Salah's four-goal haul against Watford has propelled him to the top of the leaderboard, three ahead of Lionel Messi who also found the back of the net at the weekend. With Harry Kane and Neymar sidelined with their respective injuries, it seems that the Golden Boot will be between four or five players. The new leader is Liverpool's Salah, who hit four goals past Watford on Saturday to put a cushion between himself and the chasing pack. Messi also enjoyed some success at the weekend, finding the back of the net against Athletic Bilbao to keep in reach of his Egyptian rival. However, not to be outbeaten, Cristiano Ronaldo also brought home a four-goal haul, in Real Madrid's nine-goal exhilarating victory over Girona, to bring his tally to 22 and will be an outside bet to take Europe's goalscoring crown. Kane and Neymar still occupy top positions in the leaderboard, but little by little they will fall as they continue to recover from their injury woes, having to watch from the sidelines whilst their rivals battle it out across the continent. Luis Suarez has also dropped out of the top 10, along with Radamel Falcao, after missing the game against Bilbao through suspension. -Europe's Golden Boot (18-03-2018)- 1.- Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, England) - 28 goals, 56 points. 2.- Lionel Messi (Barcelona, Spain) - 25 goals, 50 points. 3.- Ciro Immobile (Lazio, Italy) - 24 goals, 48 points. 4.- Edinson Cavani (PSG, France) - 24 goals, 48 points. 5.- Harry Kane (Tottenham, England) - 24 goals, 48 points. 6.- Jonas (Benfica, Portugal) - 31 goals, 46.5 points. 7.- Robert Lewandowski (Bayern, Germany) - 23 goals, 46 points. The Europa League quarter-final ties Lazio v FC Salzburg The Italian side will be considered favourites for this one, but they will have to be on their guard against a side that knocked a strong Borussia Dortmund side out of the comeptition in the last round. Lazio edged past Dinamo Kiev in the previous round to earn their place in the draw. Atletico Madrid v Sporting CP Diego Simeone will no doubt be reasonably content with the draw as his side avoided big-hitters such as of Arsenal and Marseille as well as securing one of the shortest trips of any side for the second leg. Sporting qualified for the quarters by defeating Viktoria Plzen, but face a huge task against many people's tip to take home the title. Arsenal v CSKA Moscow By no means an easy tie for the 'Gunners' as they face the long flight to Moscow in the second leg, though they may be boosted by the return to fitness of Alexandre Lacazette by then. Arsenal see the competition as the best way to ensure a place in next season's Champions League and proved their credentials by beating AC Milan in the last round. CSKA, meanwhile, shocked French side Lyon to progress. Read More:-https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/europa-league-quarter-final-draw-in-full.html |
Lionel Messi glide onto 100 Champions League goals from just his 123rd outing in the competition, edging him closer to Cristiano Ronaldo's tally. As the all-time record goalscorer in European competition history, the Real Madrid star is the one to beat and boasts 117 strikes in 148 games. The question must be asked then, can Messi catch Ronaldo? Lionel Messi has reached his 100th UEFA Champions League goal 21 games quicker than Cristiano Ronaldo but the Portuguese forward is still well ahead of his overall tally. It is one of the UEFA Champions League's best sub-plots. The two greatest forwards of the age have long since surpassed Raúl González's goals haul in the competition and by the end of the 2014/15 campaign Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo had 77 strikes each. President Trump made the shocking admission on Wednesday that he made up information during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. During a fundraising speech in Missouri, Trump recalled contradicting Trudeau, who told him Canada didn’t have a trade deficit with the U.S. — even though he had “no idea” whether that was true. Trump, who was raising money for Republican Senate candidate Josh Hawley, said, “I didn’t even know...I had no idea. I just said, ‘You’re wrong.’ You know why? Because we’re so stupid...And I thought they were smart,’” according to a recording obtained by the Washington Post. “I said, ‘You’re wrong, Justin.’ He said, ‘Nope, we have no trade deficit.’ I said, ‘Well, in that case, I feel differently,’ I said, ‘but I don’t believe it.’ I sent one of our guys out, his guy, my guy, they went out, I said, ‘Check, because I can’t believe it,'" Trump said. ‘Well, sir, you’re actually right. We have no deficit, but that doesn’t include energy and timber. … And when you do, we lose $17 billion a year.’ It’s incredible,” Trump went on to say. The U.S. has a trade surplus with Canada, which was the country’s second largest trading partner in 2016, according to the Office of U.S. Read More:-https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/president-trump-making-up-information.html |
Conte revealed what was said between himself and Lionel Messi at the end of Barcelona's 4-1 aggregate victory over Chelsea in the Champions League. Italian head coach was understandably heartbroken after his side fell 3-0 to a clinical Barcelona team at the Camp Nou, leaving their European dreams in tatters. However, Conte, as always, was gracious in defeat and still approached Messi to praise him on another incredible performance in which he said: "One [player like him] is born every 50 years". Following the exchange, the manager had no problems revealing what was said to reporters after the match: "I think when you have the opportunity to give a compliment to a person like Messi, it's fine to do it, it's the right thing to recognise when someone is a super super player". He added: "We are talking about someone who scores 60 goals every season. I am happy to have been able to tell Messi how well he played. Stephen Hawking, the brightest star in the firmament of science, whose insights shaped modern cosmology and inspired global audiences in the millions, has died aged 76. His family released a statement in the early hours of Wednesday morning confirming his death at his home in Cambridge. Hawking’s children, Lucy, Robert and Tim, said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened that our beloved father passed away today. He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years. His courage and persistence with his brilliance and humour inspired people across the world. “He once said: ‘It would not be much of a universe if it wasn’t home to the people you love.’ We will miss him for ever.” For fellow scientists and loved ones, it was Hawking’s intuition and wicked sense of humour that marked him out as much as the fierce intellect which, coupled with his illness, came to symbolise the unbounded possibilities of the human mind. Hawking was driven to Wagner, but not the bottle, when he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1963 at the age of 21. Doctors expected him to live for only two more years. But Hawking had a form of the disease that progressed more slowly than usual. He survived for more than half a century. Hawking once estimated he worked only 1,000 hours during his three undergraduate years at Oxford. In his finals, he came borderline between a first and second class degree. Convinced that he was seen as a difficult student, he told his viva examiners that if they gave him a first he would move to Cambridge to pursue his PhD. Award a second and he threatened to stay. They opted for a first. Those who live in the shadow of death are often those who live most. For Hawking, the early diagnosis of his terminal disease, and witnessing the death from leukaemia of a boy he knew in hospital, ignited a fresh sense of purpose. “Although there was a cloud hanging over my future, I found, to my surprise, that I was enjoying life in the present more than before. I began to make progress with my research,” he once said. Embarking on his career in earnest, he declared: “My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.” He began to use crutches in the 1960s, but long fought the use of a wheelchair. When he finally relented, he became notorious for his wild driving along the streets of Cambridge, not to mention the intentional running over of students’ toes and the occasional spin on the dance floor at college parties. Hawking’s first major breakthrough came in 1970, when he and Roger Penrose applied the mathematics of black holes to the universe and showed that a singularity, a region of infinite curvature in spacetime, lay in our distant past: the point from which came the big bang. Penrose found he was able to talk with Hawking even as the latter’s speech failed. Read More:-https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/greatest-sciences-brightest-star.html |
Catalan Giants are beginning to now hit top gear, taking both La Liga and the Champions League by storm this season. Barcelona currently lead La Liga from Atletico Madrid by a margin of eight points, such has been their dominance this season. They were in action at Malaga on Saturday where goals from former Liverpool duo Luis Suarez and Phillipe Coutinho sealed them all three points. The Spanish club topped Group D in the Champions League to reach the last-16, finishing above Juventus and sending out a message to their fellow competitors that they mean business this season. Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde: Ernesto Valverde is facing a bit of selection headache as he is without key midfielders Philippe Coutinho (ineligible) and perhaps Andres Iniesta (due to injury). Iniesta trained on Monday but is unlikely to start due to a hamstring injury handing Barca a huge blow. Nelson Semedo, Denis Suarez and Sergi Samper are also all doubts for this huge Champions League clash. Read More:-https://ochoochogift..com.ng/2018/03/barcelona-vs-chelsea-preview-and.html |
Champions League last-16 second leg clash between Manchester United and Sevilla at Old Trafford. Manchester United: Midfielder Paul Pogba could be involved after he returned to training on Monday after a gash kept him out of the victory over Liverpool at the weekend. Pogba's fellow countryman Anthony Martial is available once again after sitting out two games. Jose Mourinho will once again be without Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is unlikely to feature as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. Sevilla: Sebastien Corchia will not feature as he continues his recovery from a groin injury. Defender Daniel Carrico has overcome a knock to be involved in the squad, but former Manchester City man Jesus Navas will play no part. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "This a very difficult match. We are playing against a team who didn't lose against Liverpool home and away, scored goals at Liverpool and drew the match in Liverpool," he added. "I say Liverpool because they are an example of a very good team. It's a team with a big tradition. I say Liverpool to show that Sevilla is a really good team and the result of the first leg is one that leaves everything open. "I do not feel like we have any advantage at this moment." The U.S. House of Representatives will debate bipartisan legislation next week aimed at preventing violence at schools following the shooting deaths of 17 people at a Florida high school on Feb. 14, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Tuesday. McCarthy, the second most powerful Republican in the House, did not outline any other bills the chamber might consider that are urged by gun control groups, such as raising the minimum age for buying semi-automatic rifles or banning them altogether. The House has already passed a bill, which is pending in the Senate, to tighten government background checks on gun buyers. It included a controversial provision to greatly expand the ability of people to carry concealed weapons anywhere in the United States, which is not likely to pass the Senate. Representative Steny Hoyer, the second-ranking House Democrat, said the House floor should be opened to a wide-ranging debate on gun measures. Referring to the school safety bill, Hoyer said, “We ought to put additional protections, not just for students, but people in theaters, nightclubs, shopping malls and churches alike.” Hoyer, speaking to reporters, also called for votes on assault weapon restrictions, broader gun-sale background checks and banning “bump stocks” that can increase the firing capacity of a weapon. The No. 2 Republican in the Senate, John Cornyn, urged Democrats to drop their demands for additional gun control and instead just pass the limited background checks bill that is backed by the National Rifle Association, a powerful Washington lobbying organization.
