Odoogu: Should women be blamed solely for poor ubringing of children just because they need to make some money too? 80% Of the blame goes to the women, their natural responsibility is to raise the kids, the husband only comes in only when the child is out of control, or things have gone really bad. The job of the 90% of the 20% of the man's responsibility lies in making sure the family is OK financially, and the rest is to provide guidance, life hacks, etc. Cos no matter how you tend to look at it, men are always more experienced in giving life advice, unless he is a SIMPle man. Mind you, women work to "support" the homefront and not to entirely provide for the home. Of which, if your wife is the sole provider of the home, you have failed as a man. A woman's job is meant to be part time, that will give her more time to look after the home, the children especially. The mother should have been in a position to know when their are changes in the boy's behaviour, then report to the father. I doubt a mother will be in the best position to deal with cases like this. It is now the duty of the man to apply the masculine approach to find out more. In all of this, until we understand that men and women are created to serve different duties, the better for all of us. |

Odoogu: But times are changing. Dead beat fathers also in the mix... but How many jobs can a man engange in to make a decent living for himself and family?... A woman is much more than that. The family is home to both the man and woman. You see what I mean? Time has not changed, humans have. This is not the first mothers have businesses yet raise wonderful kids. A modern Nigerian woman will prefer to make all the money in the world to the detriment of the household, which is very wrong. But talk about it today and they will accuse you gender segregation. And you are wrong when you said that women can comfortable handle the task of running a home and building a successful business. On the contrary, a man does it better. Forget the hype from femininists, women are not naturally that energetic to handle such tasks, one must give way for the other. But unfortunately, they have chosen to chase after money whe their home decay, hence, the shortcomings in modern day parenting. I'm not against women making money or chasing their career, I'm against them biting more they can chew in the name of "times has changed" by prioritizing making money, to the detriment of the home front. |

Rtk5: Every bashing or insult is accepted because of the gravity of my actions.
I went to shop the other day and just at the entrance I saw a wrapped gift fall off a woman's bag while she entered her car to drive off, I picked it then rushed to give her, she thanked me and we exchanged numbers.
We got chatting that same day and she told me she is married with 3 kids which was obvious right from when I saw her. She even sent me some of their family pix and boom i discovered that her husband was someone whom we grew together in the same street those years but we were never friends because of age diffrrence as he was like My senior with 10-12 years age difference. Our chat with her got so intensed that we agreed to hangout together but we needed a secret place due to our marital status, so the only place we could go for was a hotel.
Yesterday Sunday we went there and before i knew it we had sex. Since yesterday till this till now my conscience has been disturbing me, infact I couldn't sleep throughout the night till now. I've done what is evil.
How do I get this guilt off me? Wakah!! |

hartoyebi38: Bullying is real and a lot of children are traumatised. One of my children came home complaining about how he was being bullied at school.
They kept on taunting him. Do you have washing machine at home? Do you have dish washer? Bla bla bla.
He was branded as inferior. I told him to fight back. We don’t have and there is no shame about it. We were then living in an environment where the light could go for two weeks without PHCN caring if there are human beings there.
So, where do we get light to run washing machine and other gadgets? More importantly, I am from Ekiti where we use ‘laulau’ and ‘kanrinkan’ to wash plates. In Ekiti, we are used to ‘olo ata’ (grinding stone) because grinding machine erodes the taste.
My grandma used ‘ogiri’ to replace maggi without apology. ‘Omi cocoa’ was our juice. The gift of my mother-in-law to my family when we got married was ‘odo’ to pounded yam on banana leàves with bush meat and vegetable to match, before the eateries hijacked it from us.
So, the secondary school mates should not goad my son into all these modern tools.
As God would have it one day, one of the bullies, a girl, came to buy frozen fish in a shop beside my house along Matogun NO ROAD, Oke-Aro (Politicians have been using the road as part of their campaign promises before democracy started in America).
Anyway, immediately the girl sighted my son, she asked “Is this your house?’ And he replied ‘Yes’. Then, she said sarcastically “Eh, so your house has no fence”. My son cried inside, that the following day, he would be ridiculed at school because his daddy’s house has no fence.
I told him, ‘There is need to cry. Where do you expect me, a journalist to get money to fence a house? When you get to the school tomorrow, call the other bullies and give the first jab, saying, “Come o, I saw this girl yesterday at their family ‘s Shoprite’. Stress it very well and once it hits the bully, she would keep quite.
Never tolerate bullies, young or old. Develop a fighting spirit. May the LORD give us all inner strength.

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is known for his generous and philanthropic act of giving to the less privilege and also standing as a spiritual backup to the oppressed in the society. This great man of God is not just preaching the Word of God by mouth alone, he is also demonstrating it as it was done in the days of our Lord Jesus Christ when our Father and our Lord Jesus was healing the people and as well doing good to the people.
This is indeed commendable and worthy of emulation for moving the kingdom of God forward.

NobleRace: I think it depends on how you were brought up. Yes, the child was hurt, that's why he reported to her father. The teacher knew what she was doing, that's why she denied; telling the father she says so to all her students.
There are parents who reprimand their kids with words such as "are you crazy?", "You're mad", "Why are you so dumb?", etc. To such kids, a word such as big head wouldn't matter. You can't say that to my children, they'll take offence immediately because we never use vulgar languages in reprimanding them.
The best way to reprimand a child is to spank him when he needs to be spanked. Advice him when he needs to be advised. Threaten him when he needs to be threatened. And raise a Stern voice against him when his offences call for it. Calling a child names is a very unhealthy practice for bringing up wholesome kids.
And if you would tease a child, do so in a friendly atmosphere with generally acceptable words. You made a good point there. But I can recognise abusive words when I hear them, and BIG HEAD is never one of them. And yes, I agree with you when you said it depends on how we were raised. And I will boldly tell you that no amount of harsh, derogatory words can weight us down. I'm even the softest in term of teasing people, my sisters will tease you to depression if you dare go toll that path, and it has been like that since then we were kids. That's how you train emotionally strong kids, not some bread and butter emotionally volatile humans that always run to papa every time they feel hurt, a male for that matter! I won't tolerate such wimpy attitude in my bloodline especially from a male child. It's a sign of weakness. And God forbid I breed weak 'men' from my loins. |

Once again quiet your mouth You must be mad in complexion!! I can see you are not only daft, you also have problems understanding what you read. How can you go about calling someone's child all these things you have mentioned?! The op said the teacher calls him "head head", this is something we all called each other back in the days and laugh it loud. If you think someone cannot tease your child, or you can't teach the child how to resist some sarcastic emotional input, then go ahead and open your own school. Or better still...home-school him. So...that's how the op will be going round town harassing anybody that calls the child big head?! That boy will still grow, he will face worse things, it is only rational for him to start teaching him how to deal with these things starting from the least, which from the look of things, BIG HEAD seem to be a good place to start. Go ahead and continue raising generation of weak, emotionally fragile men. Good luck. |
