placeofallure: See I have two male friends who are young and married like me. Sometimes, we drive to work together. We were talking generally that morning and I don't know when one of them said that he pitied young men who are bachelors in this age that we are, that to get a good woman to marry will be like a camel wanting to pass through the eye of the needle.
Honestly, I agree with him. I see young people around, men and women, and the future looks bland, looks bleak. I think parenting is to blame. No matter what the society chunks out, parents have a responsibility to nurture their own, societal vices regardless. You have no control over the society, but you can exert your energy over your own. May God help us. When people speak about upbringing I laugh. You do not think that society can change all of that? |

Family › Re: What Did Your Wife Do During Your Relationship That Made You Say She's The One? by odaniel1(m): 8:31am On May 17 |
placeofallure: Why does this story look like my husband's story? He was dating two ladies before we met, they were older than me. The first one was agitating for marriage, the other one was too, but she was more subtle in her approach, then I remember our boss complaining about her 'other room' inadequacies. Men and bedroom things
When I came in, I was little, and was less concerned about marriage. I married an older man. In my husband's voice - I brought peace, no nagging or bickering or disrespect of friends and family. I got along well with everyone. I think the initial two lacked in those departments. Then, I don't ask for money or things too. He just gave me willingly. I didn't pressure him for anything, me wey I dey 'too proud' to ask for help. I always see it as demeaning up till tomorrow. That's as far as my hubby goes.
On my own part, I knew he was the one because we were friends first, and we carried that into the relationship. He lavished attention on me. We'd gist endlessly, he never gets tired of me. Then he can pamper for Africa! I don't ask but he always gives. He never plays the Alpha male game around me. My parents love him!
We've been married for over a decade and it's still like we just met. We still gist till late in the night, we still hold hands while we stroll, we still don't get tired of each other's company, we eat from one plate and the people who know us - family, friends, colleagues, neighbours- call us The Siamese twins.
It's a fairy tale when you marry the one. Honestly, I really would not like to join the rest of today's generation to criticize marriage as a sweet union of people. Judging from what you wrote, everyone wants a similar story but the kind of broken people that are in the dating pool is seriously alarming. All of you have slept with yourselves and filled yourselves, now it is hard to choose for matrimony, real sad world we live in today |

Car Talk › Re: Is It Wise To Buy A Manual Transmission As A First Car? by odaniel1(m): 6:55am On May 12 |
ChristCee: Wait it seems the top commenters can't drive manual at all cux what's all these with manual cars are not comfortable on interstate travels...experience bla bla bla??
Many cars are even more enjoyable on interstate trips. Drove my dad's 1987 Camry for years before he got a 09 Sequoia and that machine was a horse on long trips.
Manual drivers and expert drivers know you don't shift too frequently on long trips and there is this vibe and style that comes with shifting gears. It's a whole lot of experience! so fun that some manual drivers even love shifting for fun, I usually, unnecessary cruise in neutral when I am downhill just for the fun of holding the hear more often than needed🤣🤣🤣
And my! Have you seen a pretty girl shifting gears before? 🤣 not the one time gear shift in automatic but the frequent shifting and caressing of the gear lever especially if she's putting a lot of finesse into it😊😊😊
Automatic could be better if you are looking at modern cars but those arguments up there have nothing on manual at all. The thought of burning the clutch frequently as a first-time rider is their fear. He will overcome and adapt to clutch timing if that is the case, but as an experienced driver, I would prefer shifting gears 4 d thrill! |

A junior colleague of mine sitting an interview session during her NYSC days wowed me with her non challance. Many youths today are heavily influenced by SM and the get-rich-quick syndrome. Imagine not being able to answer basic questions about your role during the course of your service year and you are unable to give succinct information.
