He must be told to bring his shoes/boots out to air in the sun or better still, get him Silica gel to put in them after each wear.

He lives alone, his family is in his hometown......

You can always say it to his face politely, but that depends on how well you both get along.

I think iamadonis2's suggestion is also a good one, but you don't know if that'll make him get the point of you buying it. He might not use it at all or after he exhausts it, he might just see no need to get a new one.

So in addition to that suggestion, I think you should carefully select the best moment to talk to him, and have a discussion on personal hygiene generally. Maybe your being his landlady would give you a head start but you have to be as polite as possible.

It is one thing to have an offensive body odour and quite another thing entirely to keep a dirty room.

I've not sat closely with him to know exactly if it is coming from his body.....he likes staying in his room..... so I don't think am contradicting myself...

There's this tenant of mine......he is a retired police officer and a peaceful man too.
We've never had any need to quarrel or some sort.
Instead of going back to his village, he decided to still live with us.... that's not my problem though.
My problem is that this man has a very bad and offensive ordour always oozing out from his room..... like sweaty boots or sweaty dirty jacket, or could it be his bed?...I really can't explain.
This goes on to pollute almost everywhere......he bathes though.... I don't know if I should include that.....
I don't know how to approach him and tell him that he smells......how do I say it, so that he is not hurt.....
I've been thinking of quitting him, but that would be very wicked of me, since he's done nothing wrong to deserve that......
The ordour is in the category of "offensive".

my sister we are the cause of our problems. I can tell you that Lagos only obeyed lockdown the first 2-3days on the 4th day people began going out, markets were open, pub transport, some people don't even believe that the virus is real.

we are hungry yes but if we had stayed indoors for the past 4weeks it wouldn't have being like this.

There was a time then when there came a bird flu outbreak.......so, one Agric farm like that wanted to evacuate the birds before it hits their farm.....my father come see awoof chicken, come buy plenty of it sha.....
For my mind, I be the professor in the house, so I know about bird flus.
I quarrelled with my dad on why he should buy the chickens, that they were already infected and I come quarrel so tey I talk say I no go chop any of it.........
My younger sister be like..... thank God for you ohh.
The wicked part is that..... they won't eat anywhere except before my face.....na so my dad dey prepare all kinds of delicacies with chicken.... and they will be eating it as if they were thieves, munching and opening eyes and making funny funny sounds....

My dear, building up a relationship with lies is cheating on it's own...... you cannot beat a child and ask him not to cry..... that would be sheer wickedness..... she lied her way into your heart and eventually into your life and she expected that you forgive and move on..... it's not possible.... it's a matter of the heart.
I have not seen myself advise someone for divorce because I always believe that there would still be an option somewhere..... although I am not giving up on your case but this is a lifetime journey and you can't go far being a sweet husband with pains of deceit dwelling in your heart....
If you can stay without her for a year or two..... and still take good care of your child, then tell her to give you a break to heal, she can't eat her cake and just have it back especially not that easy.......watch out if she will be truly remorseful and know your next action... don't take the divorce step that quick..... but you must try and work on yourself to see if there would be a second chance..... you know everyone still deserves that.
I wish she's on this forum to read all these, she still had the guts to call her brothers on you..... that is unacceptable, unless you are not telling us the whole truth....
She must adjust herself to go further with her studies.... it's not like you were expecting her to be a PhD holder, at least your expectation was HND.....let her try......as for the other discoveries, they are no problems.
If eventually it didn't work out, then you can do what you want....
