A Nigerian singer identified as Terry Apala has allegedly been caught in bed with a lady he allegedly claims to be his cousin sister.
According to a Twitter user @Premiumbabygyal who reported the incident on the platform, the singer’s girlfriend is pregnant and he had informed her the other girl is his cousin.

Founder and leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazurike, has described the Igbo as foolish.

Chief John Nnia Nwodo, a former minister for aviation, narrowly escaped being beaten by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) while in Spain recently.


It took the intervention of the Spanish police to rescue him from the claws of the Biafran agitators after they caught up with him.

Nigerian Army on Sunday said that three soldiers died while eight others sustained injuries during a fierce encounter between troops of Sector 3 of Operation Lafiya Dole attached to Super Camp Munguno and Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday.

The troops were said to have encountered the terrorists while on patrol along Monguno-Mairari-Gajiram axis of the North East region.

But the army said the troops dealt a ‘devastating blow’ on the terrorists by killing “countless number while a few escaped with gun shot wounds going by blood trails in the general are.

The acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa,in a statement, said, “the patrol team came in contact with the terrorists and engaged them with heavy volume of fire that neutralized countless number while a few escaped with gun shot wounds going by blood trails in the general area.”

The incident took place at Okorocha’s Spibat residence at Amakohia in Owerri North local government area of Imo state.



According to the leader of the recovery team led by the Senior Special Adviser on Security, to governor Emeka Ihedioha, Jasper Ndubuaku said he was attacked when he went there to submit a court order to Okorocha.

Responding, Okorocha through his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, said Ndubuaku, came to the residence of Okorocha with thugs.

According to Ndubuaku, briefly said: “I went to Okorocha’s resident at the Spibat with some members of my Recovery team to give them the Court Order only to be surrendered and beaten to stupor by Armed of armed hoodlums in the presence of some security operatives at Spibat. “The thugs are with matches and guns stripped me naked and pushed me into the gutter and they started beating me using all kinds of weapons on me.

“I suspect that Okorocha’s strength is coming from somewhere, but I can assure you that no threat from anywhere will stop Imo people from recovering their stolen commonwealth from anybody.

“I observed that the former Governor has chosen to dance naked to protect the properties he stole from govt.” Responding, the Special Adviser to the former governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha on media, Sam Onwuemeodo, said: “Our attention has been drawn to the Press Conference held today, August 29, 2019 by the Chairman, Imo State Property Recovery Committee Mr. Jasper Ndubuaku accusing the former governor of the State Owelle Rochas Okorocha recruiting thugs to attack him and his team when they wanted to invade the private residence of the former governor at Sipbat, Owerri.

“Mr Ndubuaku stormed the private residence of the former governor at Sipbat with more than 700 thugs and he had informed the public when his committee was set up that he had recruited 6000 youths to help him recover government properties.

“They were about to surge into the Sipbat residence of the former governor when the information came and youths with sympathy for the former governor rushed to the place to stop them. “Ndubuaku and his thugs were there without any Court Order. And they have failed or refused to publish whatever they think the former governor has in his possession which they think belongs to the government as we had demanded.”

Monday Ubani, former Second Vice- President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Wednesday said Japan cannot stop members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from demonstrating against President Muhammadu Buhari because the constitution of Japan protects freedom of speech and expression.

He said protests against leaders who are attending foreign meetings and summits is a normal practice all over the world.

He however said the host country may not allow the protesters to have direct access to the President so as not to attack him which may lead to retaliation by the security forces on the protesters.

While urging President Buhari to address the grievances of the IPOB members, Ubani said while the President may not do that in Japan where he is currently participating in the 7th Tokyo International Conference, he can do that immediately he returns to Nigeria so that IPOB members who felt they have been treated badly can have a sense of belonging in the country.

“When people have agitations, it could be a group or certain persons against their leaders, they usually manifest such grievances by protests and sometimes they can even follow their leaders to wherever they go in the world to express their grievance. We saw it whenever all these international leaders gather for any event, those who are protesting on climate change always come to the venue to protest and express their grievances”.

“For example, US President Donald Trump has always had strong views against climate change and sometimes there are people who gather to protest against his views on climate change”.

“So, it is a normal practice all over the world”.

A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has revealed plans by prominent Nigerians to stage an apolitical massive protest against Muhammadu Buhari at the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly slated for 17th of September, 2019.

He said the protest is aimed to demand for the release of all political prisoners under the APC administration, free the remaining Chibok Girls, free Leah Shaibu, free Sowore, free Dasuki and free Ibrahim El-Zazaky.

Other demands include; a stop to Fulani herdsmen killings, respect the rule of law, stop insecurity, stop human rights abuse, stop interfering, harassing and intimidating the judiciary, stop nepotism and more importantly, urging the United State of American to including the Chief of Army Staff and other Service Chief in the Visa ban list for extra judicial killings in Nigeria.

A statement released to newsmen by Comrade Timi Frank, in Abuja on Wednesday, said the current administration does not practice democracy and as such does not allow protest in Nigeria.

“We urge all Nigerians in diaspora to come out and protest in New York and make him understand that Nigeria belongs to all of us. This apolitical protest is to save Nigeria from further destruction by Gen Buhari whose sole aim is to islamise Nigeria.

Nigerians.

“Buhari will be attending the UN general assembly meeting; therefore Nigerians should come out en-masse to protest to save Nigeria from further destruction by the incompetent Buhari,” Frank said.

“All regional groups including IPOB in diaspora should take part in this apolitical protest to bring to the knowledge of the world, the sufferings, human right abuse and oppression being meted out to Nigerians by Buhari.”

The statement also called on the International Community to take note that Buhari has a pending case in the presidential election tribunal where the legitimacy of his presidency is being challenged and until the judgment is given by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the President should not be addressed as President but as former General.

court in Abuja today ruled on a suit filed by Omoyele Sowore challenging his detention.
The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, refused to grant the motion filed by Mr Omoyele Sowore, Convener, #RevolutionNow protests, challenging his detention for 45 days by the Department of State Security.


Justice Nkeonye Maya, who declined all applications by Counsel to Sowore, Mr Femi Falana, SAN, sent the case back to Justice Taiwo for further hearing.

Falana, who had asked the court to set aside the ex parte order granted by Justice Taiwo, also applied for oral bail when Justice Maha rejected the earlier application.
Sowore. who is presently in detention had, on August 9, approached the court, seeking an order to vacate the ex parte order that gave the DSS the legal backing to detain him for 45 days.


Newsmen reports that Justice Taiwo Taiwo had, in a ruling on August 8 in an ex parte application, ordered Sowore’s detention for the said period to enable the DSS to carry out and conclude its investigation on allegations levied against him....

There was pandemonium in Abakaliki on Wednesday as traders at the Abakpa main market clashed with revenue officials over Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) which allegedly led to the death of one person.

Incensed by the death, the traders rioted and were on the verge of vandalising shops of some the market leaders allegedly working with the government when Police intervened to disperse them.

A source at the market narrated that trouble started when the Special Adviser to Governor David Umahi on IGR, Martin’s Okwuegbu and the Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Stanley Emegha led some youths to collect the IGR from some traders in the market.

The youths it was gathered, were members of Ekubaraoha Youth Assembly (EYA).

The source alleged that the ‘revenue collectors’ were using the IGR collection as cover to close down the shops of some traders who took the state government to court over the leadership dispute in the market.

According to him, the traders had gone to court to challenge the removal of the market leadership before the expiration of their tenure and imposition of a new interim leadership on them by the state government.

“They came to the market and were taken to the shops of the traders that took them to court and they started closing their shops accusing them of not paying IGR”.

“One of the sons of one of the traders entered into altercation with them and in the process a fight broke out”.

“As they were beating him he fell on the ground forcefully and hit his head on the ground and lost consciousness”.

It was gathered that the traders immediately mobilized and attacked the IGR team and beat some of them up while others escaped.

Not done, the traders began rioting. They went to the shop of one of the leaders believed to be working with the government and attempted to vandalise it when Police arrived and chased them away.



The Police tear gassed many of them to disperse them and arrested many others.

Our Reporter on a visit to the market saw Police men brutally assaulting passersby and whisking them into their car in a brutal manner.

Police spokesman, Loveth Odah denied that anyone was killed in the incident.

She confirmed that one person sustained injury on the head and was rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki for treatment.

Mr. Mark Onu, Leader of Ekubaraoha Youth Assembly and Umahi’s Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation denied involvement in the incident.

“I am not aware of that, I wasn’t there. You can go and ask the SA on Markets what happened,” he said

He also said that no government official has the right to deploy his members for any purpose without informing him.

The Commissioner for Internal Security, Stanley Emegha denied that anyone was killed.

He noted that he, in company of the Special Assistant on IGR, Martin’s Okwuegbu, went to the market to seal some shops.

According to him, five shops were sealed for various reasons ranging from refusal to pay IGR to the shops being used for criminal activities in the market.

Okwuegbu on his part said about seven shops were sealed for not paying their taxes.

He denied knowledge of any fracas or death adding that the exercise was peaceful.

“We sealed the shops and left peacefully. I am just hearing from you that someone died. Nothing like that happened while we were there”, he said.

Mr. Okwuegbu denied that the exercise was used to victimise some traders opposed to the government action on the market leadership.

“We served them notice to pay three times before going to seal their shops. If anyone says he or she has paid let them come and present their records and we will immediately open the shops”, he said.

Special Adviser to Ebonyi Governor on Market Development, Karian Emeka Ofoke also denied the incident.

He said that the former Chairman of the Market was removed for embezzlement of government revenue he collected from the traders.

“We as government went there to enforce the evaders of tax and levies. We locked up their shops and left, later we heard there were trouble whereby we sent security agents to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order in the market and that’s all I know. If you insist that we cannot judge the Fulani race based on the genocidal and barbaric actions of the Fulani terrorists and the destructive narrative of the Fulani supremacists then you dare not judge the Igbo race based on the criminal behaviour of 80 Igbos in a foreign land.

If you insist that ALL Igbos are criminals because of the names on the list of 80 that the Americans have released then you must also insist that ALL Yorubas are criminals based on the list of names that the Saudi Arabians have accused of drug trafficking and are about to kill.

The point is simple and clear: all races and ethnic nationalities have their own fair share of criminals and deviants. It is therefore wrong for anyone to demonise or label a whole race based on the criminal actions of a few.

Yet based on the history of our nation and our experience over the last 59 years it is clear to me that there is one particular race, tribe and ethnic nationality that insists on controlling others, that excels in crimes against humanity, that delights in bloodshed and the taking of human life, that derives pleasure from indulging in ethnic cleansing, mass murder and genocide, that enjoys inflicting pain, terror and suffering and that have dominated, subjugated, enslaved, troubled and tormented the indigenous tribes and ethnic nationalities of Nigeria more than any other.

That race, tribe and ethnic nationality is NOT the Igbo, the Yoruba, the Ijaw, the Tiv, the Berom, the Tarok, the Kanuri, the Igala, the Idoma, the Uruhobo, the Itsekiri, the Efik, the Ibibiyo, the Kalabari, the Nupe, the Gbagi, the Igbira, the Eggon, the Kataf, the Baju, the Shuwa Arab, the Jukun, the Anang or any of the other indigenous ethnic nationalities that make up our nation.



The tribe that I am referring to know who they are. They are not an indigenous Nigerian tribe but came from a foreign and distant land and settled here. They are those that the late Bola Ige once referred to as “the Tutsis of Nigeria”.

Unified world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr says he wants to finish Anthony Joshua’s career after confirming he will contest a rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has accused former Governor Rochas Okorocha, of stealing N1trillion while in power.

This was contained in a statement on Friday issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Steve Osuji.

“Available records show that in eight years, former Governor Okorocha mismanaged about One Trillion Naira belonging to Imo State”, he said.

“We are taking our time in unveiling the numerous atrocities of the last administration and certainly, he must answer for all the evil he did against the people of Imo State.

“It is very strange that a former Governor could sit and concoct lies. How could Governor Emeka Ihedioha spend N2.8b on sanitation? What was it used for? Okorocha’s problem is that he is so used to lies that he no longer knows the difference between lies and the truth.

“The state spends only about Twenty Five Million Naira on sanitation and the bulk of the funds come from support from corporate organizations as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Thousands of people living in South-East, stormed Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu to welcome Sen. Ike Ekweremadu few days after being attacked in Germany by a group.

It would be recalled that Ekweremadu, former Deputy Senate President, was attacked by persons suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Numberg, Germany.

Addressing the crowd in his Enugu residence, Ekweremadu commended them for coming out to welcome him and show solidarity.

He disclosed that he had forgiven those that attacked him at Germany, adding that he went to Germany to meet with Ndigbo resident in Germany to brainstorm on issues about the progress of Ndigbo and bringing investment home.

“I am overwhelmed by the crowd here to show solidarity. This mammoth crowd shows that people behind me is more than the one behind them.

“We went to Germany to meet our brother who invited us to be part of their event which holds every year with plans to discuss with Germany authorities to bring industries to South-East.

“We want to discuss serious business bothering on the development of the zone and that is why nothing happened to us as they planned,’’ he said.

The senator noted that the South-East is owned by both him and those that attacked him, noting that he had been involving everyone in the development aspect.

President Donald Trump has ordered all US companies with operations in China to begin looking for alternatives in response to retaliatory tariffs from Beijing.

Mr Trump said in a series of tweets that he will respond in hours to an announcement Friday (local time) that China was retaliating to US tariffs with a slate of its own protective measures.

Mr Trump is also ordering Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS and the US Postal Service to begin searching for fentanyl in all packages from China.

“Our Country has lost, stupidly, Trillions of Dollars with China over many years,” Mr Trump wrote.

“They have stolen our Intellectual Property at a rate of Hundreds of Billions of Dollars a year, & they want to continue. I won’t let that happen!

“Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China.”

Earlier, China announced tariff hikes on US$75 (A$111) billion of US products in retaliation for President Donald Trump’s latest planned increase, deepening a conflict over trade and technology that threatens to tip a weakening global economy into recession.

China also will increase import duties on US-made autos and auto parts, the Finance Ministry announced.

The announcement comes as leaders of the Group of 7 major economies prepare to meet in France this weekend.

Tariffs of 10 percent and five percent will take effect on two batches of goods on September 1 and December 15, the ministry said in a statement.

It gave no details of what goods would be affected but the timing matches Mr Trump’s planned duty hikes.

Washington is pressing Beijing to narrow its trade surplus and roll back plans for government-led creation of global competitors in robotics, electric cars and other technology industries.

The spiraling conflict has battered exporters on both sides and fueled concern it might drag down weakening global economic growth.

Peter Navarro, who advises Mr Trump on trade policy, tried to downplay the impact of Chinese tariff hikes. He said they were “well anticipated” and would only strengthen Mr Trump’s resolve.

China’s government appealed to Mr Trump this week to compromise in order to reach a settlement.

That came after Mr Trump warned that the American public might need to endure economic pain in order to achieve long-term results.

The United States, Europe, Japan and other trading partners say Beijing’s development plans violate its market-opening commitments and are based on stealing or pressuring foreign companies to hand over technology.

Some American officials worry they might erode US industrial leadership.

Chinese leaders have offered to alter details but are resisting giving up a development strategy they see as a path to prosperity and global influence.

The talks are deadlocked over how to enforce any deal. China insists Mr Trump’s punitive tariffs have to be lifted as soon as an agreement takes effect.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ,Adams Oshiomole, says he is convinced the party will rule Nigeria beyond 2023 when President Buhari’s second term expires.

Oshiomole said this at a meeting with governors of the party on the platform of Progressive Governors Forum.

Former US Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Andrew Young on Thursday August 22, alleged that ”something is wrong with everybody” in Nigeria as they are always complaining about the government.

Speaking at the dinner organised for him by the Emeka Offor foundation and also to mark the record of no wild polio virus case in Nigeria in three years, the former US envoy said he has never heard about a good government in Nigeria. He also told those complaining that the world has never been perfect.

“Everybody know that Nigerians are to be respected, if not feared, except you Nigerians. Nigerians are always complaining about themselves,” he said.

“Is like complaining about government you have had, I never heard about a good government in Nigeria – something is wrong with everybody. Well let’s face it, the world has never and would be perfect.

“There have never been a people that have come further and work harder and produce more with less and suffered more problems than the people of Nigeria and the government that you have produced” he said.



Young also described the eradication of polio as a ‘tremendous achievement’. He also said South Africa would not be free today and Mandela would not be out today if not for Nigeria.

“I don’t know if you have 50 million people, 90 million people, 120 million people and you don’t know either but we know that polio has been cured,” he said.

Human Rights lawyer Femi Falana says the call for revolution is not new in Nigeria as many political leaders had called for a revolution at one point or the other.

He said Nigerians called for revolution during colonial rule but unlike now, none of the agitators was charged with treason for it.

Mr Falana spoke on Monday at a symposium organised by Coalition for Revolution (CORE) in Lagos.

“Let the authorities in Abuja know that call for revolution is not new. Political leaders in this country have been calling for revolution and nobody charged them,” he said.

“When Nigeria was at this stage in the 1940s, a group of young Nigerians, the Zikists, gathered at Glover Hall (Lagos). Their leader, Osita Agbonna, delivered a lecture titled “A Call For Revolution” and those who shared the same thoughts with them were arrested and charged with sedition, that they were trying to embarrass the colonial regime. They were not charged with treason or treasonable felony.”

He also said the condoning off of the venue for the symposium earlier on Monday by the police and the State Security Service reminded him of the era of military dictatorship.

“When we were outside and were told the symposium will not hold, my mind went back to 30 years ago during the Babangida and then the Abacha junta when we could not meet.

We defeated both dictators and I can assure you that any other dictator will not be allowed to rear his ugly head.”

He said the government knows those disturbing the peace of the country.

“The Buhari administration knows those who are breaching the peace of Nigeria. Terrorists, armed robbers, herdsmen, coup plotters and others. Those who went on the street to protest in the exercise of their right to assembly and complain against injustice, corruption and maladministration in our country cannot be said to have breached the peace in our country. ”

Mr Falana also charged members of the Revolution Now movement to persevere, noting that revolution is a long and tedious journey.

“A revolution, like Chairman Mao Tse Tung said, is not a dinner party. A revolution is a very serious, rigorous and consistent battle for the soul of a country.

“What you have done is mere declaration of intention. The journey is going to be intense, take time, but I believe we have started and there is no going back,” he said.

Saliu Akanmu, popularly called Iya Onifufu, the 70-year-old woman brutalised by the police at the protest by the movement in Osogbo, called for the release of everyone still in detention, including the convener of the protests, Omoyele Sowore.

She said people like her are tired of the economic hardship in Nigeria and will support anyone trying to enforce change in the system.

Seun Kuti, son of Fela, the Afrobeat legend, asked if the Nigerian people were willing to pay the price of freedom.

While condemnation from different quarters have greeted the attack on senator Ike Ekweremadu by IPOB members in Germany, a human rights lawyer, Femi Aborisade, said IPOB was right to question the senator.

Aborisade argued that the action of IPOB towards Ekweremadu should serve as warning signals to current public officeholders that they would account for their actions in office.



He said: “My perception of the video that I watched showed that they were asking him questions, and Nigerians, anywhere they are, have the right to ask questions from their leaders either former or current. The reason was to get clarification on issues and for them to justify their actions.
