In the 1979 elections Awo lost to Shagari via a mere 600k votes (he received 4.9m votes as against Shagari's 5.6m, while zik got a paltry 2.9m -- based on that who is irrelevant of the 3? ? ) That election was the closest on record. The North edged us via several factors but yorubas still put up a good show. But where Awo failed OBJ succeded, aand twice by the ballot box! Shonekan sef don reach dia as a civilian.

Now how many igbos ever came close to smelling the presidency via the ballot box in Nigeria's history? ? Thunder fire you are your ilk. Anuofia!!

I have already said it that their problem is that they are sorry ass/unreliable failures as kingmakers (GEJ realized too late that they can't be relied upon to deliver his reelection that's why he tried desperately to court the Yorubas at the late stages but it was too late), and secondly no single igboman has ever been unanimously voted by Nigerians as president in the history of this country. Na their real problem be DAT.

I bet you that GEJ, if he could turn back the hands of time, would do anything to get the 2.4 mill votes Buhari got from the SW to hand Buhari the Presidency. We got him the presidential ticket. (ask Amaechi), hand-picked his vice, gave him the largest votes in the South of naija -- despite low voter turnout in the region.
