You can say that again. Next time he may not be so lucky with the Nigerian authorities. He may actually end up dead extra-judiciously like that Boko founder, what's his name again? His fans will just weep and beat a few chests grin

Politics / Nigeria's Main One Invests $300million In Internet Infrastructure In Last 5yrs by OduaVanguard: 3:58pm On Jun 30, 2015

MainOne, the Lagos-based telecommunications and data services company says it has invested over $300 million in network infrastructure in West Africa since it began operations five years ago.

The company said this during its five-year anniversary press conference where the company CEO, Funke Opeke, also shared how the company has evolved.

“Despite the challenges we face in this region, predominantly a dearth and high cost of infrastructure, we are excited about the future prospects in the broadband market,” she said. “[We] are determined to remain consistent in our resolve to bridging the digital divide between Africa and the rest of the world”.

MainOne recently got the consent of Nigeria’s telecommunications regulator, NCC to provide broadband infrastructure for Northern Nigeria and Lagos. In January, the company announced the opening of its Tier III Lekki Data center to address the growing demand for colocation, cloud and disaster recovery services in West Africa.

Even Obanikoro at the peak of his powers was called a murderer and election rigger, in SR publications and by Omisore himself, yet couldn't do nothing, but to whine and groan. Is it then Saraki that SR published photocopies of his criminal past and British passport that would now take any action?
Saraki does not realise the damage those 2 publications did to him.It would only become obvious if he survives this scandal and desires to pursue an higher office,he would not survive it.
PMB only survived d orchestrated campaign of calumny against him because of his personal integrity and the combined forces of Nigerians in different shades to boot out d GEJ administration.
Those same forces are now amassing against Saraki and with his shady and criminal past,I don't see him surviving nomination for any other office in Nigeria;he would be swallowed pretty easily by scandals and the courts.

Abi? Na only PDP supporters dey support Saraki coz he's their lapdog. Nobody, not even Buhari, can do anything to SR. Na today?

You see what ignorance and arrogance have done to you, if I sighted an example with Sen Hosea, I merely referred to parliamentary procedures but you are too ignorant separating HOR and Senate when both operate similar rules. Keep fooling yourself. North central and South East rejected the list insisting they deserve to have a stake in house leadership not some silly so-called leaders imposing their cronies at all cost. You need to look beyond SW. Life doesn't start and end in SW. Nigeria is greater than any regional interest, that's the interest your likes are closing your eyes to.

I repeat that you are an attention-seeking fool. Simply supply evidence/precedent of a fresher/first-timer holding principal officer positions in the HOR or shut the ffvck up. Period.

Your ignorance won't let you see the north central that has ranking reps were not represented in anyway. To cure your ignorance, house doesn't bar 1st time reps from occupying other principal office aside Speaker and deputy. Sen Hosea from Oyo was a principal officer in senate even as a 1st time senator. Cure yourself of self induced ignorance. Your arrogance won't help you.

Lol. You are a fool and are suffering from serious comprehension issues. I didn't mention anything about first timers holding principal offices in the Senate, rather I specifically referred to the HOR. Shebi you dug up Hosea from Oyo, why not also dig up first time HOR principal officers as precedents? You have a lot of digging to do so knock yourself out.

Even when the SE and NC APC caucuses recently complained about marginalization, they appealed to the party to apply the "principle" and "spirit" of Federal Character and the constitution, and not extant house rules or any previous precedent.

Lol! So I have become a South Easterner because I advocated equity and Justice? You see your life? What's wrong in having one of the two APC reps made deputy chief whip? Wouldn't that further correct the wrong impression by the easterners that this government won't be marginalizing them? Do you think a true leader will want to marginalize anyone under his leadership. Honestly we need to start thinking about NIGERIA and stop this parochial thought of "My zone". You really need to purge yourself of bigotry.

I don't give two ffvcks if you're from the SE or not, I just told you the truth. If the SE had produced just one single APC senator the current NA debacle could've been avoided coz the Senate presidency would naturally have gone to the SE -- the zone didn't even produce a single APC senator, not one. Iriase is from the SS and has been presented by APC leadership as Deputy Chief whip but Dogora rejected the party leadership's candidates. The Imo APC reps are not even in contention coz they are first time reps and it's against the HOuse rules for freshers to hold such leadership positions.

You are the real bigot here coz you jumped the gun by accusing the party of not being just and equitable without considering all sides of the situation.

I have always maintained that if SW APC insist Gbajabiamila must get a position, I think the fair thing is to pressure Hon Lasun to resign from that position so Gbaja can fill the space but taking the slot that belongs to another zone is total arrogance in my opinion. More so when you didn't even seek the understanding of that zone. APC must promote equity and justice. This idea of allowing the dictate of a single man just because you want to appease him just won't let APC succeed. Every zone must be treated with respect including those who didn't vote Buhari.

And what happens when a zone (like the SE) has no single qualified elected rep or senator in the ruling/majority party, so according to you, the members from that zone in the opposition party should now be considered by the ruling party to fill positions, right? You try well well, you hear?

You people should learn to play your politics with some sense next time, rather than putting all your eggs in one (PDP) basket only to later shout marginalization after scheming yourselves out of reckoning from important positions.

Politics / Ondo Earmarks $500m Cash To Boost Power by OduaVanguard: 10:27am On Jun 30, 2015

by: John Ofikhenua

The Ondo State government and a Korean firm, Kingline Development Limited, have struck a deal on the construction of the state’s 550 mega watts (Mw) power plant valued at $500Million.

The project, named Kingline Ondo IPP Project, is to be situated at the Ondo State International Industrial Park, Omotoso. The power project is to be operated using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) module and aims to generate about 550 Mw in the first phase using simple-cycle with combined-cycle option.

Chief Business Development Officer at Kingline Development Ltd, Akinnola Fola, who spoke with reporters in Abuja at the weekend, noted that the project would transform the state and make it an industrial hub in the region.
“The output now is $500million for 550Mw. This is the phase one of the project. At the second phase, we would do another 550Mw to bring it to 1100Mw.

“Also the land for the project has been secured as a contribution from Ondo State government. The total area for the project is 250 acres. Also the EPC contractor’s name will be announced shortly after concluding the competitive bidding exercise currently ongoing to select the best contractor among the offers received.”

Fola said the project was progressing well, as approval for evacuation had been secured from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The evacuation study is one of the key documents that ensures that generated power can be evacuated and taken on the national grid.
He spoke on other preparations towards the project.

He said: “NBET had already shared the draft PPA with us for reviewing and the necessary documentations for signing the PPA are being put together at the moment. Due diligence exercise is ongoing with the Gas Aggregation Company Nigeria Limited (GACN) while licensing documentation after approval to generate power under unsolicited condition on the strength of our partnership with Ondo State is under preparation. It will be submitted shortly.

“On the equity contribution, we are 100 per cent equity funded. Our debt raising is ongoing with Global Investment Bank, the leading fund raiser. Environmental Impact Assessment is ongoing, while discussion with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group, for political risk has commenced as well. These are the status of the various approvals from the agencies. Kingline Development Limited aims to become one of the leading power plant developers in Nigeria.”

Very stu$pid comment by someone with no ability to reason. Jews have medical centers in virtually all developed countries; far more than in their jewish land. Nothing wrong with Igbos doing the same. Why do yorubas always tell Igbos to go back home if they want to have Biafra or whatever? That's a very stupid thing to say. Only in Africa you will hear this garbage. Yorubas can form their own country and Mr. Adewale who is a multi millionaire in Awka; should be able to continue his business there as long as he has all necessary immigration papers and permits to do so. Likewise the same will apply to Igbos and other ethnic groups in Nigeria. These are enshrined in international laws courtesy of the United Nations. Let's be civilized!

Abegi make I hear word! Save your sermon for revival pls. What I said is no different from what Biafran apologists have been screaming all over Nairaland lately, that such investments are rather needed in their own homeland.

If you are not a hypocrite then openly condemn such folks that say that on here, but I am not holding my breath expecting that from you coz you never openly condemn the excesses of the Biafrans (they are saints to you), but if and when others lije myself expose their hypocrisy you will quickly jump to their defense. Politics / Re: Why Has Fayose Yet To Appoint Commisioners, 8months After?? by OduaVanguard: 8:25am On Jun 30, 2015
My own theory is that Fayose spent way too much time thinking of ways to attack Buhari as a candidate before the elections that he pretty much forgot he was elected to govern Ekiti. Till today, he has yet to initiate or commission any significant project in the state. Even his "stomach infrastructure" sef don cease.

I think it's safe to conclude even at this point that one shouldn't expect anything meaningful in terms of governance from him throughout his tenure. The guy is simply an empty vessel.

Obiano and other SE Govs need to do more to convince Igbos rich folks to invest more in their SE homelands instead of the SW -- though I would also pick SW over SE as an investment destination any day!

Here's another Igbo/Biafran already scheming how to erect a hospital in the yet-to-be-completed Eko Atlantic city -- even when there's a Centenary city being constructed in Enugu and a similar one, Millenium city, in Anambra, he would still rather build it in Lagos. Small time they will be abusing "Yolobas". Smh.
