Chelsea and Brazil defender David Luiz has taken a thinly veiled dig at former coach Jose Mourinho insisting that the Portuguese is more of a pessimist than an optimist. And Luiz is renowned for his attacking style of play from the back has enjoyed a renaissance under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge this year. http://www.offkick.com/2017/05/chelsea-defender-david-luiz-mocks.html |
Pedro Rodriguez has won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for the second time this season following his magnificent strike in last month’s 3-0 win at Everton. Manchester United will not be able to appeal against the red card handed to defender Eric Bailly in Thursday night’s Europa League semi-final, confirming he will be ruled out of the final in Stockholm later this month. Bailly appeared to make minimal contact with Celta Vigo’s John Guidetti in a melee between both sets of players in the closing stages of a dramatic game at Old Trafford, with his United team-mate Antonio Valencia pushing the former Manchester City star to the floor in a heated exchange. http://www.offkick.com/2017/05/revealed-why-manchester-united-wont-be.html |

Real Madrid made it through to the Champions League final for the third time in the last four years at the expense of bitter rivals Atletico Madrid beating them 4-2 on aggregate. 3-0 down from the first leg, Atletico Madrid scored twice in the opening stages of Wednesday’s match to revive the UCL semifinal. But just before the break, Isco scored a massive away goal for Los Blancos which killed the tie. http://www.offkick.com/2017/05/see-how-cristiano-ronaldo-trolled.html |
Real Madrid reached a third Champions League final in four years after seeing off Atletico Madrid despite a 2-1 defeat in the second leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday. Two goals in the first 16 minutes from Atleti threatened to produce another memorable comeback in this season's tournament, until Isco's strike just before half-time effectively ended those hopes and sealed a 4-2 aggregate win. The players were greeted with a tifo from the home fans proclaiming 'proud to be different to you' as they walked out onto the pitch for the last European game at Vicente Calderon, but Atletico's electric start was very much in the mould of Madrid's in the first leg. http://www.offkick.com/2017/05/atletico-madrid-2-1-real-madrid-2-4-agg.html |

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned Chelsea ’s title-winning tactics and insisted their style is a turn-off for fans and that they will win the title in the same way that Leicester City did by giving up possession and refusing to ‘seize the initiative’. Antonio Conte, and last season’s champions Leicester City, have conquered the Premier League in back-to-back seasons using counter-attacking football and often having less possession than their opponents. http://www.offkick.com/2017/05/arsene-wenger-joins-jose-mourinho-in.html |

''The police didn't let our team bus leave the hotel without giving the reason for around 20 minutes,'' Dortmund said on its official Twitter account. No further details were given. Kickoff was delayed by five minutes, with soccer's governing body UEFA saying only that it was due to ''late team arrival caused by heavy traffic.'' http://www.offkick.com/2017/04/revealed-borussia-dortmund-team-bus-was.html |

Barcelona will need to hit at least five goals past Juventus to produce another miracle Champions League comeback but have nothing to lose according to outgoing coach Luis Enrique. The Catalans made Champions League history by overcoming a 4-0 first leg deficit to beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 in the last round, but have another mountain to climb at the Camp Nou on Wednesday as they trail their quarter-final tie 3-0. "We need to score fewer goals," said an upbeat Enrique facing what could be his last European game in charge. Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed that he had the chance to move to the Chinese Super League and earn £100 million over the course of his contract – but he turned the move down. The Germany star did admit he had doubts over his performances when they were criticised, but these were quelled by France veteran Robert Pires, who offered advice to the playmaker on the frequent occasions he would visit the club. For example, the Gunners legend explained to Ozil that there was no need for him to add muscle mass to succeed in the Premier League, and the former Real Madrid man was able to promptly make up his mind about a transfer away from Emirates Stadium. http://www.offkick.com/2017/04/mesut-ozil-reveals-he-turned-down-100m.html |
