So all the City Boy Movement, City Girls Movement, "Relax, Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria", Renewed Hope Ambassadors, and countless other groups are not enough, now we need a 4.4-million-strong group too?

Thousands upon thousands of groups just to sell Tinubu. A bad product is a bad product; no amount of rebranding can change that. Dead on arrival remains dead on arrival.

What exactly was his crime? He merely made a general statement about the obvious consequences of supporting bad governance.

He never mentioned Tinubu by name, yet his supporters became agitated and angry.

Tinubu, you are my only hope – Lagos Lawmaker appeals over APC ticket

The lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Samuel Apata, has said he was denied return ticket despite his overwhelming victory at the primary election.

Apata said this while appealing to President Bola Tinubu to help him reclaim what he calls his mandate in the just-concluded APC primaries.

He made the appeal during an interview in Lagos, on Wednesday.

The lawmaker expressed confidence that President Tinubu would listen to his plea, saying he was a loyal party member, committed to the ideals of the party.

According to him, he secured victory in the primary election with a wide margin but was denied the ticket despite his performance.

“I contested for the second-term ticket and won convincingly with 9,081 votes. It is unfortunate that someone who came a distant third, with only 677 votes, was eventually declared the candidate.

“I believe in party supremacy and due process. Personally, I am grateful to President Bola Tinubu for providing us with this APC platform but I want my second term ticket.

“President Tinubu is a man of justice, and I am confident that he will look into this matter and ensure that the right thing is done,” he said.

The lawmaker said that he had previously contested for the chairmanship of Bariga LCDA twice and had also contested elections into State House of Assembly on two occasions before emerging victorious in 2023.

Apata said he had done well for the people of Bariga, citing the renovation of Ariyo and Grace streets in Bariga as well as the construction and rehabilitation of six schools as some of the projects he facilitated in the area.

He said that his experience over the past three years had strengthened his capacity as a lawmaker and positioned him to deliver more effective representation.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and his support for President Tinubu’s administration.(NAN).

Deflection is not an argument.

Nobody said only Soyinka can review Tinubu's administration. The point is that Soyinka himself promised to do so and repeatedly moved the goalpost.

And kindly take your tribal bigotry and divisive campaign out of my mentions. The moment your response to a question about accountability is to invoke ethnicity, you've already abandoned the substance of the discussion.

Look at Nigeria’s youths taking drugs and soaked in alcohol expecting a 90+!years old great grandfather to fight for them. Wole Soyinka fight for their great grandfathers, he fought for their grandfathers, he fought for their fathers, he fought for them, and now the lazy youths still want same man ti fight for their children
Nobody asked him to fight as he did in the days of our great-grandfathers, grandfathers, and fathers.

He promised to assess Tinubu's administration after one year. He didn't. When pressed further, he said he would assess it after two years. Three years have now passed, and there has been no assessment from the Nobel laureate and no review of the Tinubu administration that he promised.

At 90 years old, he may have lost some of his agility, but has he lost his voice? No.

What has been exposed, however, is a man who appears unwilling to apply the same standards consistently, leading many to view him as a tribal partisan rather than the impartial public intellectual he is often portrayed to be.

If the person talking is foolish, listeners be wise – Kwankwaso denies working for Tinubu

The vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed allegations that he and the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are secretly working to aid President Bola Tinubu’s re-election by dividing the opposition, insisting that their alliance is driven solely by a shared vision for national development.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, Kwankwaso described the claims as baseless.

Responding to accusations that their candidacy was designed to weaken the opposition and benefit the ruling party, Kwankwaso invoked a popular Hausa proverb, saying “If the person talking is a fool, then the person listening should be wise.”

He maintained that the NDC, despite being a relatively new political platform, has witnessed rapid growth in membership within a short period.

“We are a new party, but our membership is advancing rapidly. In less than three months, we have attracted many members. Peter Obi and I share similar ideologies and plans for development in education, agriculture, and human capital development,” he said.

Kwankwaso explained that both leaders agreed to work together to bring positive change to Nigeria.

According to him, the partnership was formed to provide an alternative that focuses on welfare and development.

He also sought to downplay reported tensions between supporters of the NDC and those of other opposition figures, particularly former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

“I have never directed my followers to attack Atiku, neither have I attacked him directly. I am sure he also will not direct his people to attack us. Any issues between the two camps are being incited by a few mischievous people,” he stated.

Addressing criticism over his previous remarks that the office of the vice president is merely a “spare part,” Kwankwaso said Obi had assured him that his administration would assign meaningful responsibilities to the vice president.

“Obi himself publicly declared that he will not just relegate us to the side. There are several responsibilities we will take on for the betterment of the nation, and that is how it should be,” he said.

Kwankwaso further explained that he accepted the vice-presidential slot because of what he described as the need to respect the country’s power-sharing arrangement between the North and the South.

“I agreed to be vice president because it is currently the turn of the South. So, to avoid confusion, we agreed that he should run, and once they are done, the seat will move back to the North,” he said.

When asked whether he believed Obi would honour an alleged agreement to serve only one term before power returns to the North, Kwankwaso expressed confidence in his running mate.

“I believe Peter Obi, as a distinguished gentleman, will keep his word of running for a single term to fulfil the turn of the South, and the presidency will move back to the North,” he added

INEC is now acting in contempt of a court judgment.

This rogue group, which was sacked by the courts, is still being given legitimacy by INEC, allowing it to continue parading themselves as members of the PDP.

It is now obvious that INEC, under Amupitan, will destroy whatever semblance of democracy we are practicing.

Mr Obi sir, President Tinubu has equally paid off all IMF loans he met on ground.
As a matter of fact, President Tinubu has paid off Nigerian debts totalling almost $11 billion dollars.
Mr Obi was a total disaster when he governed Anambra state for 8 years where he didn't build one single school even a tiny one.
If "total disaster" needed a definition,

Tinubu's last three years in office would be the exact definition

Nairaland. I must warn you to be careful with the amount of publications making the rounds here and disparaging P.O. I'll only say this once. If this makes front-page in service of the APC without any form of verification, I'll personally sue this platform.

We're demanding that you take this down until it is verified. I have proceeded to take screenshots of the ops account details and the general post itself in the event I end up needing to do something about these acts of stupidity and falsehood.
It has become quite pathetic.

Nothing gets verified anymore.

Imagine that posts from questionable Twitter/X accounts have become the primary source for many threads that end up on the front page. At that point, you begin to wonder what is happening to Nairaland.

Even threads that clearly violate Nairaland's rules keep hitting the front page back-to-back.
