That's the general sentiment across the board, even within APC circles.
The uncomfortable truth is that there is no compelling case for re-electing Tinubu
There has been no purposeful leadership or people-oriented programmes that Nigerians can point to and say, "At least if he gets a second term, he'll be able to complete what he started.
Even Buhari, despite the fuel and electricity subsidy burdens, had programmes like N-Power, anchor borrowers agricultural programmes and other social intervention initiatives. Tinubu, on the other hand, has virtually nothing comparable to show Nigerians.
A re-election campaign needs achievements to sell, not excuses to explain. |

seunowa: If Ndc wins any governorship seat in 2027 make I bend You said the same thing in 2023 when Peter Obi was in the Labour Party. You claimed you would bend if the Labour Party won any governorship seat. The party went on to win in Abia State, yet we never saw you bend as promised. Now, as 2027 approaches, you're back with another ultimatum, this time saying you'll bend if the NDC wins any governorship seat. At this point, you're turning yourself into a jester. Your predictions keep failing, but your confidence never seems to. |

Yemmysworld91: Go check the Kano governorship results and see how tight it was. Ganduje and Shekarau defeated Kwankwanso at various times to become governor. Kwankwanso's presidential push the last time helped his governorship candidate. That won't be easily pulled again For the presidency, Kwankwanso is being used as VP which many of his people are not in support. That will reduce the votes he pulled the last time.
Time will tell. Cheers Like you rightly said, time will tell |

Yemmysworld91: This is funny. You don't really understand what's going on in kano that has the governor, shekarau, ganduje, senate deputy president against Kwankwanso. Kwankwanso is weakened. But enjoy celebrating your imagination I can't wait for 2027 before una start to shout rigging again All the people you mentioned, except Abba Gida, who is now the governor, were against Kwankwaso, yet he still delivered. DomPerignon: Obi did not collect a dime from any aspirant in the NDC to secure them a nomination slot for Dickson's selection committee.
Because, Obi had since relinquished any right to nominate anyone for nomination in exchange for a free ticket.
Kwankwaso got exclusive franchise of 60:40 ratio up north, while Dickson was in total control of southern candidates and the FCT.
The arrangement was that Obidients will repeat their blind Top-to-bottom voting pattern that saw LP secure lower elective positions for state and federal legislatures that will be fully Dickson and Kwankwasso loyalists.
Obi agreed to these terms in exchange for a DOA free ticket.
That's the raw deal that Obi agreed to for a free ticket which threw his obidient followers under the bus .
Even Aisha got a rude shock when Dickson Committee refused her demands for a primary election for the Abuja Senatorial bid.
Aisha began doing activist before Dickson's committee but they asked her if they sold any form to her . That's when she knew she had been played.
To console herself, she said she will focus on getting Obi elected so as to repeat the heist of campaign funds she and her co crooks in the obidient movement did under labour party.
But Dickson is ahead of them by ten steps and he read the riot act on them that all campaign funds and contributions will be controlled by him and not the obidient movement.
Right now, there's no reason for Aisha to still be in either the NDC or the obidient movement as there is nothing for her in both.
I see Aisha slowly withdrawing from both NDC and obidient movement.
And unlike the shameless ken, she will swallow her loss and retreat to the background to return to her regular cashtivist hustle. DomPerignon minister of Peter Obi affairs |

Politics › Kwankwasiyya Dismisses Reports Of Kwankwaso Threatening To Quit NDC by Ofunaofu(op): 3:27am On Jun 09 |
The Kwankwasiyya Movement has dismissed reports that its leader, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, threatened to leave the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the replacement of candidates.
Speaking to The Nation on Monday, the Movement’s spokesman, Habibu Sale Mohammed, described the reports as “mere rumours.”
Some media reports had claimed that Kwankwasiyya would exit the party if loyalists earlier nominated by the bloc were replaced.
The claims followed the substitution of several candidates submitted by the group, with allegations that the move breached an earlier power-sharing arrangement.
Mohammed said the claims were baseless.
“The Kwankwasiyya Movement, and neither its leader, is complaining,” he stated.
He explained that the party primaries were conducted on May 29 in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines, and that the winners were affirmed the same day.
According to him, NDC stakeholders and members had earlier agreed on a consensus model where necessary, adopted candidates accordingly, and submitted the list without internal squabbles.
Mohammed added that Kwankwaso had not communicated any grievance with the party to the Movement, and said the NDC was in the best position to respond to the reports. https://thenationonlineng.net/kwankwasiyya-dismisses-reports-of-kwankwaso-threatening-to-quit-ndc/

Politics › Contractors Debunk Fg’s N700bn Claim, Resume Protest At Finance Ministry by Ofunaofu(op): 8:22pm On Jun 08 |
ABUJA — Contractors under the All Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigeria (AICAN) on Monday rejected claims that the Federal Government had disbursed N700 billion to their members, insisting that most outstanding payments remain unsettled. The contractors resumed protest at the Federal Ministry of Finance headquarters in Abuja, citing delays in payments for projects executed in 2024. Speaking during the protest, AICAN National President Jackson Nwosu said about 85 percent of contractors were yet to receive payment, despite assurances from government officials. He said the association had previously engaged the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Accountant General, where they were informed that about N40 billion would be released initially for settlement. Nwosu explained that contractors had submitted verified payment documentation across various categories and expected funds to be disbursed by the previous Friday, but that did not happen. “We were expecting payments to reflect in beneficiaries’ accounts by Friday, but that did not happen. Only a few persons have received payments,” he said. He accused the government of failing to fully honour agreements reached with contractors, adding that many had taken loans to execute projects and were now under financial pressure. National Secretary of AICAN, Babatunde Seun, also questioned reports of a N700 billion disbursement, saying members had not seen evidence of such payments. “We came out because of reports that N700 billion had been approved. Many contractors are still unpaid,” he said. He called for full payment of completed projects, adding that delays in processing warrants across Ministries, Departments and Agencies were worsening the backlog. Responding to the protesters, Permanent Secretary (Special Duties), Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Sanusi, said approval of funds does not automatically translate to immediate payment. He said the government was working through outstanding liabilities and that disbursement processes were ongoing. “Approval is different from payment. We are working on contractors’ payments,” he said. Sanusi added that N700 billion had been approved for contractors, alongside an additional N70 billion for payments to the association, assuring that disbursements would begin soon. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/06/contractors-debunk-fgs-n700bn-claim-resume-protest-at-finance-ministry/ |

Politics › Atiku, Amaechi Meet In Abuja Amid Negotiations Over ADC VP Slot by Ofunaofu(op): 5:22pm On Jun 08 |
Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has visited the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, in Abuja as discussions regarding the choice of a vice-presidential running mate intensify.
The closed-door meeting follows the conclusion of the party’s presidential primary election in April, where Atiku emerged victorious after defeating both Amaechi and former economic adviser Mohammed Hayatu-Deen to secure the ticket for the 2027 presidential race.
Since the conclusion of the primary election, consultations have shifted toward selecting a good running mate to consolidate the party’s national appeal.
While Atiku has reportedly opted to let the party leadership drive the final decision on the vice-presidential slot, sources confirm that Amaechi remains a leading contender on the shortlist. https://politicsnigeria.com/2026/06/08/breaking-atiku-amaechi-meet-in-abuja-amid-negotiation-over-adc-vp-slot-video/

HacheNoire: Another big win for the administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and a great opportunity to put those that detest his administration to shame.
Making the Okigwe general hospital a competitive world class hospital would be a top priority for the administration so as to make a bold statement to naysayers. When you stop viewing every issue through the lens of ethnic hatred and tribal bigotry, you will be able to assess matters more objectively. The healthcare sector is too critical to be reduced to ethnic and divisive narratives. The takeover of Okigwe General Hospital by the federal government is a welcome development and should be commended. However, the Tinubu administration must do much more. A single intervention cannot fix the deep challenges facing Nigeria's healthcare system. If, as reported, only N36 million of the funds budgeted for the health sector in 2025 was released, it raises serious concerns about the government's commitment to improving healthcare delivery. Beyond announcements and takeovers, Nigerians need sustained investment, adequate funding, modern facilities, essential equipment, and better welfare for healthcare workers. Healthcare should not be a tribal issue; it should be a national priority. |
