Inibehe Effiong has a right to his opinion and it’s not generic!

In same Nigeria, we the dedicated disciples and followers know His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is the best thing that happened to Nigeria since the creation of Earth.

The few like Inibehe Effiong who detest the demigod, will have to keep rambling till 2031.

Who God has blessed, no man can curse!
'Best thing to happen to Nigeria since the creation of Earth'.... Wonderful!

At this point, you're not defending a politician; you're nominating him for sainthood.

The problem with calling leaders demigods is that you stop measuring performance and start measuring devotion. No wonder you chorus "On his mandate you shall stand "

Fortunately, elections are decided by voters, not disciples.

And know this very fact, history has a habit of humbling political cults.
PoliticsRe: Bola Tinubu & His Wife, A Vicious Couple bonded by greed, state capture -Inibehe by Ofunaofu:
I totally agree with Inibehe Effiong.

Tinubu and Remi are truly a vicious pair, united by greed and destructive tendencies.

A match made in hell

Zero empathy.

Their only concern is political power and complete state capture.

Criminal state capture, in fact.

This nightmare will surely end on May 29, 2027.

"Nigeria has been ranked 5th in the latest Africa’s 20 best-performing countries by Jeune Afrique and The Africa Report, which noted that the country was weighed down by a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita that has fallen over the reference period, a high level of debt (more than 90 per cent of GDP in 2024), weak regional integration, and a rule of law, which is among the most deficient on the continent.

It also misses out on the Top 10 most prosperous African countries. It shall never be well with those who worked for, supported, encouraged, and helped enthrone this APC regime.

As we speak, it is already not well with many of them. The regime they helped bring to power has succeeded in subjecting them to hardship, suffering, and even death.

We are no longer hearing, "Tinubu's government will favour me." Many of those who believed that are not even alive to receive that favour, let alone survive to enjoy it.

Nigeria has been ranked 5th in the latest Africa’s 20 best-performing countries by Jeune Afrique and The Africa Report, which noted that the country was weighed down by a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita that has fallen over the reference period, a high level of debt (more than 90 per cent of GDP in 2024), weak regional integration, and a rule of law, which is among the most deficient on the continent.

It also misses out on the Top 10 most prosperous African countries. According to the Atlantic Council’s 2026 Prosperity Index, Africa’s most prosperous nations are those that have managed to combine economic opportunity with strong social outcomes, environmental sustainability and greater inclusion.

The ranking of Africa’s 20 best-performing countries is based on a proprietary methodology that analyses the trajectories of African states across three key dimensions: governance, influence and innovation.

Moving away from rankings based solely on GDP or conventional development indicators, this ranking offers a more comprehensive, forward-looking measure of African nations’ performance. It takes into account the ability of states to govern effectively, to carry weight on the international stage, to attract investment, to project their culture and diplomacy, and to prepare for the future through education, start-ups, patents and innovation.

For the 2026 edition, South Africa retains first place, with a comfortable lead, dominating in particular the “influence” and “innovation” dimensions, driven by its academic, scientific and entrepreneurial ecosystem, its diplomatic weight, its membership of the BRICS and the G20, as well as its symbolic and cultural capital. It nonetheless remains less well ranked in terms of governance, which illustrates the complexity of its trajectory.

The podium, by contrast, sees a major reshuffle. Mauritius climbs to second place, driven by its institutional stability, attractive business environment, and successful economic diversification. Namibia records the year’s strongest rise, moving from 15th to third place.

Its political stability, its infrastructure, its financial markets, its natural resources, and the improvement of its governance indicators – notably its ability to collect taxes – make it the great revelation of this edition.

Behind this leading trio, Morocco confirms its status as a safe bet and ranks 4th, benefiting from several years of investment in infrastructure, industry, renewable energy and sport. Like South Africa, Nigeria finished 5th and Egypt, 6th, severely penalised by poor governance scores, but remain among the continent’s heavyweights, driven by the size of their market, their influence and their capacity for innovation.

The top 10 is completed by Rwanda in 7th, Ghana in 8th, Côte d’Ivoire in 9th and Kenya in 10th. West Africa thus confirms its dynamism, driven by the economic rivalry between Accra and Abidjan, the rise of Nigeria and the progress of Côte d’Ivoire, which has become one of the continent’s major regional hubs.

Beyond the Top 10, the map of African performance is being redrawn. Algeria, which benefits from the poor performances of several countries previously ranked ahead of it, such as Senegal and Tunisia, advances markedly and reaches 12th place. Mauritania enters the top 20, notably driven by renewed diplomatic influence. Mozambique also joins the ranking.

Conversely, Ethiopia falls sharply, penalised by weaknesses in fiscal transparency and governance. Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania also lose several places. These movements reflect the new criteria taken into account in 2026, notably the tax burden, regional integration and a more refined measure of soft power.

Commenting, Director of Special Content, Partnerships and Media Diversification at Jeune Afrique Media Group, Julien Wagner, said: “This ranking has a deliberately dynamic and forward-looking dimension, giving greater weight to recent trends. It shows that a country’s performance cannot be reduced to its size, its wealth or its demographic weight. It is measured by the consistency of its long-term choices, the robustness of its institutions, its capacity for innovation and its ability to exert influence.

“The 2026 edition reveals a continent in motion, where certain balances are confirmed while new players are making their mark. With this second edition, the ranking is becoming a genuine barometer of these realignments.”

The 2026 methodology is based on the combined analysis of 24 indicators spread across three major dimensions. Governance has 50 per cent of the performance index, influence 25 and innovation 25.

THE prosperity index measures both individual well-being—through indicators such as income, education, and health—and shared prosperity, including environmental quality, income equality, and the well-being of minority groups.

Countries are ranked based on the equally weighted average of six indicators and grouped into categories ranging from “High Prosperity” to “Lowest Prosperity.”

The rankings highlight an important reality: the world’s richest countries are not always the most prosperous.

Seychelles, Africa’s most prosperous country (with score 77.4), ranked 39th globally in the 2026 Prosperity Index; Cape Verde (Ranked 42, Score: 76.1); Mauritius (Rank 45, Score: 74.6); Ghana (Rank 46, Score: 73.2) and South Africa (Rank 50, Score: 72.6)

Others are Botswana (Rank 55, Score: 72); Namibia (Rank 58, Score: 71.4); Senegal (Rank 63, Score: 69.5); Lesotho (Rank 72, Score: 67.5) and The Gambia (Rank 74, Score: 67.2).

PoliticsYou Have Gadgets To Track Your Critics, But Not Terrorists – Dalung Blasts FG by Ofunaofu(op): 6:45pm On Jun 05
Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has lashed out at the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government over the country’s security situation.

He argued that the Federal Government do not seem to have a solution to the insurgency situation plaguing the nation.

Dalung shared his reservations during an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Friday.

He questioned the government’s failure to track bandits in the forest, but to successfully arrest anyone who criticises them.

Dalung said, “They have all the gadgets to track anybody who criticizes the government. They can pick him up in the next five minutes, but they don’t have equipment to track terrorists who display huge funds in the forest.

“So I don’t know what unity the federal government is asking Nigerians against terrorism. Nigerians are determined to deal with terrorism, but government seems not to have the political will to deal with.

“The All Progressive Congress, APC, in all ramifications, seems not to have solution to the security challenges confronting this country, and it pained me so much.

“The Federal Government has completely and woefully failed, and they don’t seem to have any iota of solution to the ravaging insecurity that is across the country.

“In Plateau State now, it is not safe for you to travel on the highways, not because of the fear of terrorism, but you will run into a community that has been displaced by terrorists, and in anger they will take over the highways and begin to attack vehicles that look like those of leaders.”

PoliticsInvite Igboho To Name Oyo Abductors, Atiku’s Aide Tells DSS by Ofunaofu(op): 9:59pm On Jun 04
Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to invite Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho to disclose the identities of those allegedly behind the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Ibe made the call in a post on X on Thursday, following Igboho’s claim that he knew the politicians sponsoring the kidnappers responsible for the abductions.

According to Ibe, security agencies should explore every available option to secure the release of the victims, including obtaining any information Igboho may possess.

“Since Sunday Igboho claims to know those behind the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire, Oyo State, I think that the State Security Service (SSS) and other security agencies need to invite him to release those names to them,” Ibe wrote.

“Every option should be on the table to fast-track the safe release of the school children and teachers.”

Igboho had made the allegation while receiving members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at his residence in Ibadan on Wednesday.

The activist claimed he knew the politicians backing the kidnappers and threatened to reveal their identities if they continued their activities. He also claimed that although he had secured federal government approval for his security outfit, ‘Iru Ekun’, the Oyo State Government barred the group from operating and warned that any attempt to rescue the abducted children could endanger their lives.

Ibe also questioned the federal government’s response to the reported abduction of more than 50 schoolchildren in Mussa, Borno State, last month.

He accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of paying less attention to the Borno incident compared to the response to the Oriire abduction in Oyo State.

“By the way, who knows those behind the abduction of over 50 school children in Mussa, Borno State on May 15, 2026? Why is Tinubu and his government mute over the Borno abduction? Are those school children not Nigerians? When will the Commander-in-Chief and Consoler-in-Chief send a delegation to Mussa like it did in the case of Oriire? When will Borno and other vulnerable states get their own forest guards? Why wait for a tragedy to occur before the Tinubu government takes action to stem insecurity in our country?” he asked.

Rivers Guber: Chinda’s ‘belated defection’ grounds for disqualification – Legislative lawyers

Lawyers under the umbrella of Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners, ALDRAP, have described the announcement of Kingsley Chinda’s move from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, during plenary at the House of Representatives on Tuesday as a “belated defection” that justifies their call for his disqualification from contesting the governorship election in Rivers States in 2027.

ALDRAP, whose members include constituents of the lawmaker who represents Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency of Rivers State, made the assertion in a statement released shortly after Chinda’s defection and resignation was announced at the National Assembly on Tuesday. The lawyers equally asked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to provide the membership register of the APC as at May 10, 2026.

ALDRAP had filed a lawsuit, asking an Abuja Federal High Court to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from recognizing Chinda as the APC candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial poll in Rivers State.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbass, read a letter announcing Chinda’s resignation from the PDP and defection to the APC during plenary on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 – nearly two weeks after the lawmaker won the APC governorship primary election in Rivers State, held on May 21, 2026. The letter also announced Chinda’s resignation as Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, a position he attained due to his membership of the PDP.

Chinda’s defection letter was dated April 23, 2026, indicating that he had already resigned from the PDP and defected to the APC before the May 21, 2026 APC gubernatorial primary election in Rivers State.

Sources at the National Assembly revealed that he actually defected before the lawmakers went on recess.

However, the official announcement of the defection came after ALDRAP had, in a Freedom of Information request dated May 26, 2026, asked the Speaker of the House of Representatives to produce evidence that a letter notifying the House of the Rep’s defection was read on the floor during plenary, before his participation in the APC Rivers primary and emergence as gubernatorial candidate.

According to the Supreme Court, for a lawmaker’s defection to be deemed as valid, there has to be a formal announcement of the defection, during plenary, by the presiding officer of the legislature.

ALDRAP had in its lawsuit asked INEC to reject Chinda as Rivers APC governorship candidate on the grounds that his defection was inconsistent with the provisions of Section 68 (1) (g) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, and pronouncements of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on defection of legislators.

Insisting on the illegality of the defection despite Tuesday’s announcement by the Speaker, ALDRAP, in a letter addressed to INEC chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, dated June 2, 2026, demanded, in line with the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, for the membership register of the APC in Rivers State as at May 10, 2026. In the letter signed by Jesse Williams Amuga, Esq., its administrative secretary, ALDRAP argued that Chinda’s name was submitted in violation of provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026.

Parts of the letter read, “We write as lawyers to the constituents of Hon. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda who represents Ohio/Akpor Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, National Assembly. Our Incorporated Trustees of the Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners (ALDRAP) has filed a public interest lawsuit on behalf of constituents of the said Hon. Chinda.

“We write to request both hard copy and electronic copy of the Register of the APC as at 10th May 2026.

“This request is brought pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 and as requirement of Section 84 of the Evidence Act, 2011. We seek to tender the said said CTC in the lawsuit against Hon. Chinda at the Federal High Court Abuja.

“It has just been reported that today, 2nd June 2026 is the date that Hon. Chinda’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was announced on the floor of the National Assembly during plenary session. This is a violation of both Section 68 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 and the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria dated 28th February 2025.

“It also constitutes a violation of Section 77 (5) of the Electoral Act, 2026 because he is joining the APC after the APC had already submitted it’s Register of Members to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 10th May 2026. Also, there is no evidence of the dates of acceptance of his resignation by the PDP at the ward level in Rivers State and issuance of a new membership by the APC in Rivers State at the ward level.

“It is important to note that by virtue of a judgment of the Court of Appeal dated 29th May 2026, the Emeka Beke-led faction of the APC is the recognised APC in Rivers State, whereas Hon. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda registered with the Tony Okocha-led faction of the APC in Rivers State.

“Let us conclude that all the foregoing demands are made as public interest disclosures and requests in furtherance of our ongoing public interest lawsuit at the Federal High Court, Abuja. A copy of the lawsuit is enclosed.”

PoliticsWhy Jonathan Is Silent After We Named Him 2027 Presidential Candidate – PDP by Ofunaofu(op): 8:32am On Jun 04
The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki has opened up on the reason former President Goodluck Jonathan has remained silent despite their declaration that he is their 2027 presidential candidate.

Naija News reports that the faction on Saturday announced the former president as its 2027 presidential candidate in absentia.

Speaking to Punch, the Publicity Secretary of the Turaki-led NWC, Ini Ememobong, stated that Jonathan’s silence was strategic, insisting that the former President was running for the 2027 presidency.

According to him, “You should understand that silence is strategic, just like communication is. Not everyone speaks or acts aggressively.

“Others act using silence. Do you understand? When he was picked as vice president, did he shout to accept? So this character exhibition is clearly in tandem with Jonathan’s usual disposition.

“He has never struggled for public office. He has always been invited to public office. That is what history records for him. So this is not in any way different from the previous path that he has used to ascend to power. Except you proved me wrong.

“So, the former President is our candidate, and until today, the man has not disavowed. All that has happened has been in the open.

“From where we sit and stand, as we have done, we have done our part. So whoever says Jonathan is not running should be willing to be quoted.”

A Minister Who Couldn't Implement A Simple Cashless Policy Is Not The Best To Advise Jonathan- PDP

The Turaki led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has criticized the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

This was contained in a post that was shared on the official X handle of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

This is coming after Festus Keyamo advised former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to reject the presidential nomination of the PDP.

Here is what Festus Keyamo said according to Punch;

"For the sake of his global image, President Goodluck Jonathan must immediately issue a strong ‘no, thank you’ statement before Nigerians begin to recall the clueless campaign that got him out of power".

However, in a post that PDP shared on its official X handle, the party stated that Festus Keyamo is a failure and that he is not in the best position to advise the former President.

Here is what PDP wrote on its official X handle;

"A minister who could not effectively implement a simple cashless policy is not the best person to offer advice to a former President. Under the APC administration, Nigerians have witnessed unprecedented economic difficulties".

Politics2027: Aisha Yesufu Rallies Support For Peter Obi, Kwankwaso by Ofunaofu(op): 7:17pm On Jun 03
Activist and political leader, Aisha Yesufu, has charged her supporters, known as ‘Supporters of Aisha Yesufu’ (SAY Nation), to back presidential candidates of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, in the forthcoming 2027 election, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Yesufu gave the charge in Abuja on Wednesday at the conclusion of a strategic outreach to Bwari, AMAC, Kuje, Kwali, Abaji and Gwagwalada area councils of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

During the outreach, Yesufu, who had expressed interest in the NDC FCT senatorial ticket, met with party members, stakeholders and supporters to express appreciation for their support and commitment to her political aspiration.

The activist noted that the engagement formed part of her ongoing consultations across the FCT following recent developments within the party that denied her the opportunity to participate in the contest for the FCT Senatorial District ticket.

Speaking during the outreach, Yesufu expressed appreciation for the loyalty, sacrifices and commitment demonstrated by party executives, stakeholders and supporters throughout her political journey.

She, in the same vein, acknowledged the disappointment and frustration felt by her supporters over the outcome of the NDC internal processes but urged them “not to lose faith in the collective struggle for a better Nigeria”.

According to her, “the outreach was designed not only to thank supporters for their unwavering dedication but also to encourage them to remain focused on the broader national objective of securing a prosperous and inclusive future for Nigerians”.

The activist called on supporters across the FCT to channel their energy towards strengthening grassroots mobilisation and sustaining the momentum for political change.

“The quest for good governance transcends individual political ambitions,” she declared.

Yesufu charged members of ‘SAY Nation’ and other supporters of the ADC to “remain united, resilient, and committed to the larger vision of delivering transformative leadership for Nigeria, particularly in support of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso”.

She expressed confidence that Nigeria’s future remains bright.

According to her, “collective action, perseverance, and faith would ultimately pave the way for the emergence of a better nation”.

“Nigeria will be OK,” she assured supporters.

Supporters, during the outreach, expressed solidarity with Yesufu and reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the political movement. They noted that the engagement provided reassurance and renewed hope despite recent political setbacks.
