Please I need your advice oo. I'm currently considering changing from my Samsung S21 to either Pixel 8 or S23. Enjoyed the s21 so far, but battery is bad, heats up really bad and average camera. I'm hearing pixel has similar battery issues + poor network? I need something refreshing that's why I'm considering Google Pixels. The S23 seems too boring, but really stable and durable though. Please share your practical experience, major observations and general advice, thanks.

FamilyRe: My New Mattress Is Too Hard by ofyd001: 5:50pm On Dec 27, 2025
This is instructive..
I intend to get a Royal Semi orthopedic mattress. Do you think it's good?
I've been using vitafoam grand for a while, haven't enjoyed it at all.. sinks too much. My weight is 73kg.

matify83:
Weight grading for mattresses typically refers to how well a mattress supports different body weights. This is crucial for ensuring comfort and proper spinal alignment during sleep.

Weight Categories

Mattresses are often categorized based on the weight they can support effectively:

Importance of Firmness

Lightweight sleepers may feel more comfortable on softer mattresses that contour to their body shape.

Average weight sleepers often prefer a medium firmness that provides both support and comfort.

Heavyweight sleepers require firmer mattresses to ensure proper spinal alignment and prevent excessive sinking.

Firmness categories:

Extra soft (1–2)

A mattress in this category feels remarkably cushy. You easily sink into it and the material contours closely to your body.

Soft (3–4)

A mattress in this category feels supple but not spongy. You still sink into it, though not as deeply, and the material accommodates your body without hugging it.

Medium (5–6)

A mattress in this category feels fairly neutral. You will not sink into it much (if at all), but the material will somewhat conform to your body.

Firm (7–cool

A mattress in this category feels solid but not overly hard. You may notice a slight “give” when you lie down, though the material provides minimal contouring.

Extra firm (9–10)

A mattress in this category feels remarkably rigid. You will remain on it rather than sink into it, and the material will not contour to your body at all.

Finding the right firmness

What firmness number is right for you?

A lot of it depends: on your personal preference; your favorite sleeping position; and even your size.

Review Teams found that mattresses that fall into the 5–8 (medium to firm) range generally meet the needs of most older adults.

These mattresses tend to offer the right balance of:

Cushioning—enough “give” to relieve stress on hips, shoulders, and knees

Support—enough density to prevent back pain and keep the spine aligned

Structure—enough bracing to make it easier to get into and out of bed

Conclusion

Choosing the right mattress based on weight grading is essential for achieving a good night's sleep. It helps in selecting a mattress that not only feels comfortable but also provides the necessary support for your body type.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Monthly Net Salary Of Federal Government Ministries, departaments, Agencies And P by ofyd001: 3:46am On Jan 03, 2025
Their salary scale was modified, last year.. so won't work with conpass. Used to be like 175k net entry level. With the minimum wage ish, should be around 210-230k now. Not very sure tho.

dahflemzy:
Evening my people. Pls who has an idea of the net monthly salary of FFS for because entry I.e level 8 step 2. I’d be very grateful if someone can assist with the figures as I’ll use it to judge between it and another job that I just came across. I’ve been trying to search for close figures but one can’t know the actual salary from the conpass table.
Thanks

You're right, people shouldn't hold their breath for this recruitment. If it comes, fine...if it doesn't, move on. But to say it is impossible for APL to be given without interview is false. Their are MDAs that issue APLs directly. I work for one. 500+ recruited without interview or any test.

Great info leks4sure, thank you. Wait oh, 150 positions for the entire recruitment or just EH? God ahbeg o!

leks4sure:
It's been a while here.

There was a strategic meeting on manpower audit yesterday between the HR and corporate communications division where the ongoing recruitment was extensively discussed and the fake job ads circulating in Bayelsa state recently. This post was to inform the general public about it. This doesn't nullify the advertised oil and gas job vacancy of 2020 by NCDMB. This is one of the numerous reasons the board decided to publish the recruitment without stating name of the agency in the newspaper advert to avoid unscrupulous persons from hijacking it.

Interview has been tentatively fixed for 2nd/3rd week of October. There is still ongoing deliberation for either Virtual or Physical Interview in Nigeria Content Tower, Yenogoa. Mails would drop anytime soon ahead.

About 500 applicants have been shortlisted for the interview, dominated by GT from the first batch of applicants to upload documents and EH from the second batch for about 150 positions.

Good luck everyone!

Good. Maybe you should take your advice too and try to make enquiries without being condescending, rubbishing info shared by others.

Sorry Sir, I just asked a simple question, learn to handle critics without using words like naive and shut up(even if it's a figure of speech), there was no lie in what I said or you just love praise singers.

What an incredibly stupid thing to say. Newcastle had always maintained that the recruitment isn't straight forward, subject to adjustments that even the ES has no control over. Others like leks4sure, tammynobody have given updates in line with Newcastle's at one point or the other.
Is it that you lack the ability to comprehend? Or you're just a really sad person? Either way, this is unnecessary. If you feel the information shared is incorrect, share yours or just keep quiet. Surely that's not difficult to do.

Qpetz:
Newcastle2023, pls, just shut up. It's only in Africa you see fake prophets having crowd of followers despite their neverending fake prophesies.

This recruitment will end when it's time for it to end. Simple.

Hmmm! Interesting. We dey wait.

Thanks for your updates, boss. Always appreciated.

Newcastle2023:
You're very correct my brother. They will continue and conclude the process very soon. The above chat with the ES was precisely on the 13th of July, 2021. Thank you.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: LA BUENA VIDA: Have You Heard About It?? by ofyd001: 8:05am On Jul 14, 2021
You can't be serious like this oh. If your education hasn't served you, it may have served others like me. Stop generalising. People are within their rights to seek clarification, whether they read books or not is immaterial.

I'm not necessarily against them sef, marketing is an essential part of business, so their multilevel marketing system is alright. But the problem is their perceived dishonesty. You tell people you want to change their lives, give job opportunities etc while they'll eventually try to cajole you into joining the pyramid scheme. If these prospective new members had 100k lying around, they wouldn't be seeking job opportunities from La Buena Vida. They ought to be honest, tell people what they do and the responsibilities involved. After the training, the account number they'll send for you to pay into carries "Aim Global Nigeria" as account name. Another reason to be sceptical about their operations.

Alot of people are jobless, looking for a way out. It is utter wickedness to take advantage of their situation and play on their intelligence.

The truth is most people crying foul play here, wanted a get rich quick scheme but were disappointed,

So you know...even if it's the mentorship and training one gains after all these...it is way better than our wasted life serving the Nigeria schooling system...

Honestly boss, you know what's up. CBN na just name, pay is only decent. I've worked closely with organisation for a while, most of them depend on soft loans. Just like with other public agencies, only when you get to top management level (or work with HQ) before you begin to really enjoy the job. There are many organisations better than CBN.
Bills will eventually choke you unless you're comfortable living a very conservative life.

Yes second class is not eligible for EH, don't know about GT. The will only allow you upload your masters first before first degree, if you have a 2:2.

Rayycheal:
Please are second class lower divisions not eligible for this job? Because I cannot proceed and I don’t have masters degree
