Singin' in the Rain
With an entertaining story, interesting characters, a good cast, and song sequences that are often both lavish and creative, this has everything you could ask for in a musical. Besides being one of the best musicals ever made, it is also one of the best of the movies that Hollywood has ever made about itself. grin

The story is a somewhat exaggerated and very amusing look at Hollywood as it underwent the transition from silents to sound cheesy cheesy cheesy

The main characters are defined nicely, and the cast does a fine job with them. The trio of Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, and Donald O'Connor really look as if they are having a good time together. It gets a lot of mileage out of even the simplest aspects of the changes that sound pictures brought, and while the main plot is fairly simple, there are plenty of laughs. Most of the musical numbers work quite well, although the rest of the movie is so good that it probably could have stood up pretty well on its own anyway.

This classic is great entertainment, and a movie you can enjoy whether or not you usually like musicals. wink wink wink wink

Yes, I had to laugh ^^ grin because . . . . . this. . . . movie. . . . COULD NOT lipsrsealed . . . . . have been. . . . . any. . . . . slower. The movie's own fade in and fade out at the end literally took a minute. Thankfully, by the movie's end, my eyes had already closed from extreme fatigue by the minute the movie faded to black. cheesy cheesy

MRbrownJAY dude i must agree your bellow review  grin .  this film is pretty weak, actually terrible. It was just such a downer, all of the family, except for the father, walked around "in a daze", like they were zombies  cheesy cheesy . Besides the father, who seemed uncharacteristically cheerful (like one of those creepy teachers or neighbors), the only other character that showed any signs of life was the youngest daughter, who also seemed a bit "touched"   smiley

It was just bad. The acting was poor, and there were too many un-answered questions  lipsrsealed . Also too much illogical behavior - e.g., "Oh, Dad brought home a wild girl, oh well, back to my homework", or, during the finale, why didn't someone pick-up the phone and dial 911?  cheesy cheesy Three different people walked past the phone, without bothering to use it. . . . It's pointless to try and explain the plot of this film without giving away way too much. wink

MRbrownJAY:
THE WOMAN
weak storyline/plot, weak acting!!!!!

storyline: a man goes hunting in the woods and spots a woman who has been living in the wild (as an animal). he catches her and bring her back to his house, where he intends to bring her back to civilization, with the help of his wife and kids.

Christianity EtcRe: Can Christians Be Hurt By Witchcraft Or Black Magic? by Ogaga4Luv(m): 3:09pm On Oct 18, 2011
The Judeo/Christian bible is NOT as old as it is believed to be, and neither is that foul program they call a "religion." The truth can be seen in the Gothic cathedrals for one. They were ORIGINALLY PAGAN. Regardless of what the popular history books claim angry , (and many support the Jewish lie of Christianity), it appears that Christianity arrived on the scene with the Inquisition, especially in Europe. There are just too many things that don't add up. sad

Well ,the bible is a Jewish conspiracy. Christians are deluded under a powerful spell. Christianity is nothing more than a vicious program sad
Christianity EtcRe: To All Those Who Go To Church by Ogaga4Luv(m): 2:49pm On Oct 18, 2011
"YHVH" aka "Yaweh" "Jehova" is nothing more than a system of Jewish magick. "YHVH" known as the "tetragammaton" represents the four corners and elements, as does "INRI" along with the four gospels; these represent the four corners of magick and the four elements that are so important in any magickal working. "YHVH" is used extensively in (Jewish) magick. The Jews stole the Kabalah from the Egyptians and corrupted it. It is mainly chanted- "Yod Heh Vau Heh" in different combinations.

The Gentile people have been force fed Christianity in order to strip us of all knowledge and power. Those at the top play both sides against the middle. What this means is the enemy works from within both sides- each side bashing the other while they both move ahead lipsrsealed . This is analogous to a cop who is heavily involved in an open and public anti-drug crusade and secretly sells and pushes drugs unbeknownst to his family and community cool

zataxs:
@Ogaga4Luv very well said, !!!!
"Ask yourself: If you were god, would you want your people to build churches in YOUR honor, kill other people in YOUR name and take one day off in seven to praise YOU? If your answer is yes I’m glad I’m not YOUR child."
I think when we were young we were taught that we should fear God.
I thought fear was a different way of saying respect.
But in reality, if I was a Christian I would truly fear God. He is obnoxious, blood thirsty, vain, inconsistent, too much power and very little understanding of what to do with it, He is indeed a very fearful creature.

I see so many religionists rant and rave about how Atheists are “not tolerant of believers and have no respect for their faith”. To non believers this claim is absurd. For intolerance of various religions is the foundation of Judaism, Christianity, Muslim and many other orthodox communities. Matter of fact, the Bible and Pentateuch commands religious intolerance in MANY verses cheesy cheesy , even to the point of KILLING people for their beliefs. Here then, are a few choice verses that show just how intolerant these religionists are of other believers and nonbelievers. We shall start with the two verses that helped to inflict one of the biggest mass murders in history, the Inquisition. smiley

Woman with “familiar spirits” must be stoned to death. Leviticus 20:27

“Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” Exodus 22:18

Obina5000 of Nairaland i hail u oo ^^ grin

This movie one of my choice . I loved the way the tension is built up in the movie . The way the police , lead by Leckie , played by Guy Pearce , try to convince the nephew to snitch on the brothers. Despite really enjoying this film it does have it's flaws, I don't think the actor who plays Joshua is very convincing . His acting is far too dead pan.

I was also left confused by what happened near the end. The whole deal that was worked out with the court case is still puzzling to me. I would have given this a 9 or 10 if it wasn't for the confusing conclusion but i still really likes Animal Kingdom smiley smiley . It's all about Survival. grin

I swear ^^  grin grin

i hope now u are satisfied u this freak ? smiley All right, so now you have backed out of two of my questions.  I’m starting to think you don’t really care about my salvation as much as you claim.  Well, unlike your Jehovah, I shall be kind and offer a third chance at redemption  cheesy cheesy .  Consider Jesus’ teaching in Luke 6:30 “Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.”  Perhaps, if you emptied your wallet and “give of thee” I may seriously ponder accepting Jesus as my savior wink.

Okay plappville dear Christian believer obviously you didn’t do what i asked u on my previous post and backed out with the “this is metaphorical” excuse cheesy cheesy . Surely you can try Mark 16:17-1 8 which says believers can drink “any deadly thing” and “it shall not hurt” them wink.

But I don’t think you would be naive enough to drink any arsenic offered grin . Perhaps I’m wrong and you would be willing to test the Book’s veracity-”lay it on the line” so to speak? smiley
