Christianity EtcRe: Introduction To Witchcraft | 'Witchcraft For Dummies' by Ogaga4Luv(m): 11:08am On Oct 14, 2011
[size=13pt]When trying to explain what it means to be a witch or what wicca is, it is useful to have some overall definitions, a bit of historical perspective, and clear up some common misconceptions. I have put together this little introduction for those who are just curious, regular readers who are not wiccan or witches.

Witchcraft is a spiritual practice, a way of life, a belief system, many believe it to be a religion and many do not. The denominations of Witchcraft are called Traditions. They further define and implement the foundation of beliefs into their own perspectives of practice. Defining their own creed, troth or rede of faith to provide guidance and principles for that tradition. kiss kiss kiss

The Great Dictator

Absolutely brilliant satire! We laughed until we were upside down in parts of the film~ grin grin grin grin grin grin grin. The comic genius of the film maker shines here. Strong humor, justified attacks at the fascists, belittling Hitler and friends, incredible scenes, appropriate commentary on war and peace, beautiful humanity, anti-establishment. cheesy

If anyone does not 'get' something positive from this film they were either were not concentrating or they must see the world through miserable eyes indeed. cheesy cheesy

One of the funniest things you will ever witness. It moves slowly in places but its nice to see something with such a wild narrative structure as this, like a car going fast then slow then fast then faster then slow then fast. . . . cheesy cheesy cheesy etc. Many 'hollywood' blockbusters have much more irritating slow romantic interludes than this does. smiley

Do your self a favor, grab a copy of this, sit back preferably with a good friend or two whom you enjoy a laugh with, and you will have chest pains from the bellowing!! grin grin wink

[size=13pt]Well, this movie was a shock to see and to hear. Among the thousands of mainline films I have watched over many years, this is the first I've seen with a modern-day story that was unapologetically Christian. It actually used Jesus and God's name as you would hear in a sermon in church. Of course, the fact that "Hollywood" didn't make this film is understandable; it was produced, directed, written, etc., by a Baptist church in Georgia ~~ lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Fireproof is better dear Obinna5000 of Nairaland. . . This movie makes you think of a possibility of different result of bad relationships instead of divorce. Most contemporary movies shows vengeance as something good. But this will not work in family. The movie shows that our natural desire to be respected and well treated will not work if you think of yourself - it will most probably make harm to family. To have a good family - one needs to respect spouse, care for his/hers interests, even if spouse do not react same way. Time is needed to change bad habits and bad patterns of attitude grin wink

[size=13pt]This movie was absolutely horrible. I seen the advertisements and thought "Hey, it's a football movie grin grin. I like football. The religious aspect can't be that bad." Holy crap, was I ever wrong. This is just another brainwashing movie about how if you devote yourself to god, you'll never fear anything and you'll live a happy life lipsrsealed .

I don't even understand how they pass this for believable in this day and age. From all of the indications in this film, it's just a normal public high school. But they're allowing the faculty to preach Christianity angry angry . Haven't these writers ever heard of the separation of church and state. , huh huh Ugh, I loathe the ignorance of bible thumpers grin grin.

[size=13pt]aieromon dear i have been a hardcore X-men fan since the beginning of the series, so going into X-men: First Class I had unanswered questions lipsrsealed . Why is Xavier in a wheel chair? Why are Magneto and him enemies? Thats the premise of the latest film, and director Matthew Vaughn answers all of the questions^^ grin grin

James Mccavoy and Michael Fassbender are excellent choices for Xavier and Magneto. The film shows how they first met. Xavier was friends with Mystique(Jennifer Lawrence) (My girlfriend) kiss kiss grin and he believed in the greater good. Magneto wasn't a bad person. He just wanted revenge on Sebastian(the wickedly evil Kevin Bacon), a Nazi who becomes too power mad.

I think that X-Men: First Class is the best X-men film yet, and I was pleasantly surprised because I thought it looked cheesy. But I really liked it. It answered all of the questions i've wanted answered since the beginning, and unlike X-men: The Last Stand, it takes its time getting to know the characters.

Though I won't deny that it drags on a little, First Class is exciting and thrilling and is definitely one of the Summer's grandest films so far. X-men hasn't been better, and I liked every film so far. I hope Vaughn returns for another one, because if there's been five, there's got to be more where this came from. wink wink wink

I've been long anticipating to watch this legendary movie of Akira Kurosawa due to the widespread praise I've heard of, major amount of which of course focuses on its exploration of human nature. And consequently, surprises come with some little disappointments (that generally don't hurt this classic though).

One of the early scenes which tells the farmer's encounter with a situation shows Kurosawa's use of lighting. I found it very fascinating, because lighting really plays a big role in this film  grin . In later scenes, some deliberate dynamic lighting effects can be noticed as well, which build up the climax, especially the inner thoughts of characters and certain upcoming twists.

Many of those who still haven't watched it might know that the film's talking about honesty and the human nature related to it. It certainly deals with something like self-deception too in this case if you ask me, while I found certain points a bit too exaggerated by today's standard. For instance, the bandit's motivation for admit the kill is quite vague (if everything he tells is true). Even if he just wants to show his bravery and fighting skill, you can't say that one doesn't care about his life most. Average guys would do anything to avoid a death sentence for example. That doesn't quite follow the purpose of lying in this movie: to benefit ourselves that is to say. Another thing is the monk, who stands for a symbol of fairness and righteousness, seemingly cannot tolerate anything that's not righteous, even not much as "doing evil". The "striking" case can kinda be viewed as something that frequently happens in today's view. wink

[size=13pt]Obinna5000 of Nairaland my very good friend okay,I enjoyed the movie overall . the music soundtrack! How would I describe it? Horrible, annoying, 70's meets 80's with a dash of porn. . . huh huh I'm sitting in the theater and wishing Mike Tyson would show up to chew my ears off cheesy cheesy ! Does that explain it well enough^^ grin ? I get that they may have been going for a certain mood or feel, but they could have done away with 90% of that music and improved the movie a lot. lipsrsealed

The acting was very good and the plot was well thought out and done. I just wish the movie was made a bit more to modern standards or technique I guess. . . . grin grin smiley wink

Christianity EtcRe: Introduction To Witchcraft | 'Witchcraft For Dummies' by Ogaga4Luv(m): 6:48pm On Sep 23, 2011
[size=13pt]Witches are great individualists. There are more "types" of witch than I could possibly write about here, so I will try and make a few generalisations! Witches on the whole are deeply spiritual and often sensitive. They suffer with each injured animal, plant or person and will do their utmost to help. This is because a witch is a person, male or female, that is aware of the different forms of life and energy yet see them all as the same, not as seperate entities. The earth is as much alive as you and me.

Witches do not exactly "believe in" anything. They just know it to be there. To a wiccan, the Goddess and God are just there, in the same way rocks and trees are just there. The Goddess is seen as maiden, mother and crone. She is the womb from which we sprung. She is the Earth itself, the beasts in the field, the stars in the sky. She is the feminine aspect. The masculine aspect is the God. He is seen as her consort, her lover and her son. He is the life force that impregnates the Goddess and us all. He is that which causes change; he is dynamic in all his forms. He is protective, fierce and strong as a guardian, yet tender, lusty and passionate as a lover.
