lekan008: This is a fact That's what am trying to say too with facts...that other LGAs are ok and that ibadan shouldn't be over hyped...so that before posting, some ladies won't go to the extreme on parade ground cos of ibadan or some guys set cash on fire cos of ibadan The whole of Oyo state is okay... |

lekan008: It depends on choice. Standard flats of 120k is available in areas like Ikolaba and gate GRA. And barbing salons of 200 are also available. All these are not problem for dome Corp members That's my LGA, that's my area...that's de closest to my place and remember...de price is uniform, cos of association...for de standard rent you mentioned, all fingers are not equal...the idea that ibadan is cheap won't make most prospective corp members to budget such an amount for rent |

adedeji65: I serve in ogbomoso, oyo state... cost of living is very cheap over here, though thanks to the fact that am always on business trips, if u get posted to a village like me then ur gonna enjoy every-bit of ur service year cause I can't remember d last time I attended the cds excpet when we wnt to sign our pV... that one u must not miss unless it's an extra month as punishment. I always wanted Ibadan but am happy I am nt there cause I might not have time for my business!!! #dydx_cares I dare not miss cds in my ibadan LGA... |

lekan008: Thanks for your advice to the prospective Corps Members. You don't need to discourage them about the cost of living in Ibadan. Cost of living in Ibadan can't be compared to Lagos at all. Cost of living in oyo state generally is very cheap. I wish you all a successful service year. Sir, am not discouraging them...I am serving in ibadan, so I know what's up....rent of 105k, 120k etc in ibadan for one year is cheap right?? In lagos I barb for 200h but here in ibadan I barb for 400-500h, dat one cheap?? From iyana ipaja to oshodi under bridge, you can get N50 bus. From idi-odo(felele round about) to dugbe is N70 etc Just telling them the truth so that they won't waste their time to lobby for ibadan when other LGAs outside ibadan are really okay, cheap and stress less and they will be treated like mini gods... |

Me I be Rivers man, I dont joke with water If you are posted to a school outside ibadan (most schools in ibadan don't have corpers lodge),most times such school do have corpers lodge...over time, corp members have survived the area, you are not de first neither will you be the last...if you are not ok with that, you can go and rent an apartment that's comfortable and most times cheap |

Congratulation to prospective corp members posted to Oyo state to serve out nation for the next 12months...
You are all lucky to have been posted to Oyo state. The orientation camp is comfortable, electricity supply is good (I.e from national grid or [ gen set,not 24hrs]), good toilet and bathroom with running water, nice food and hopefully nice military officials...
I believe you will enjoy your stay during the orientation programme at iseyin camp
One more thing, please accept any where they will "throw you" after the orientation programme, don't bother to bribe anybody. Sarki, igbarapa etc are all nice places. Ibadan is okay but is expensive as lagos no difference, food stuffs are expensive here in ibadan. Once they see the uniform, na to milk de corper dey dir mind.
Any question, please quote to ask me...
Congrats once again and enjoy your stay in Oyo state...

oapeleo: Hello reader, am Apele, a civil engineer by profession and web-developer for extra charge. Am not starting this thread to paste adds or show people that i am successful in web design. I am using it as a medium to reach struggling web-developers like me, so we can help ourselves.
LESSON ONE : HOW TO GET WEB DESIGN JOBS Its good to post your contacts on nairaland for people to call you. But my guy you might be wasting your time. Based on my experience after pasting my adds on several threads and creating topics over and over again. The only people that call me are fellow web-designers, who just want to fool me and find the cms am using, children that just want to call to say hi, people that promise and promise and never get back to you.
Infact even threads that say "we need a web-designer" are fake. Someone is laughing at the other side watching us drop our contacts. Dont waste your time bros.
You cant find good jobs on the internet, you have to use the old school method. That one helps me better.
It starts with writing a web-proposal of not more than 6 pages. It should contain What website is Importance and why a client should have it About your company Works you have done or demos if you are new. Bill And contact
If you cant write your proposal, then you not ready. Make the cover as attractive as possible and make several prints of it.
On the deal day, look good and confident, smell nices, etc.
Places to go to Schools, churches, companies, hotels, etc.
Walk in and ask for their manager and drop your proposal with him. Your bravery will pay.
Please if you find this thread useful, kindly comment to make me carry on. There are several things i want to show you. Hello sir, nice work...I am a management student (through with university), I have basic computer knowledge, I can operate a computer above 70%. I want to know if I can build a web site. Building website requires learn programming, database, using php etc won't wordpress or other cms require learning programming?? Because I want to build a website for a project... How can I learn how to build one professionally... |

koboko69: At least "Oyinbo man" learnt something from Jonathan. its a pity he chose to learn something that will not help him. Camron should know that despite all Jonwth religious visits, he still lost the election with a wide margin. All this religious stunts will earn him nothing.
As for daddy GO, I am now much more uncomfortable with the kind of people that find themselves comfortable around him. Is redeem now a campaign organisation that every politician runs to for prayers of deceit whenever there is a major election around the corner. The more we look the less we see! Pastor Adeboye you lost my respect. So far, the only major pastor that have distanced him self, and also politicians have distanced from is KUMUYI of Ngwakwe's church. He has also distanced himself from prophesies of doom. He has all my respect. backstabber judas was a disciple of Jesus christ, a prostitute poured oil on the feet of Jesus christ, criminals were crucified with him, politicians and rich people were also Jesus friends so also the poor....all for two reasons,"matt 11vs 28 come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" and "luke 5vs32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance"" If the Bible can recognise an authority in the land (leader) then the church too can recognise such authority if in their midst ... So pastors can't ask people not to come to church, that's why you see people in all works of life in churches with the believe that will God will minster to them all... If you like disrespect the pastor totally, if you like spit on his face, na your cup of tea and it doesn't concerns him. He his busy doing his own assignment assigned to him... |
