PoliticsWitches, Demons Hindering Electricity Reform –nebo by ogayor(op): 10:31am On Jan 24, 2013
The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the nominations of Prof. Chinedu Nebo and Kabiru Taminu Turaki as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after subjecting them to a screening session of questions and answers.

Both nominees in their separate sessions on the floor of the Senate, spoke on issues bordering on security, power, education and politics.

Nebo from Enugu State, who was former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, while speaking on the challenges in the power sector, said “uninterrupted power supply is not a mirage.”

He noted that with the unbundling of the Power Holding Company, there were a lot of opportunities for improvements in the power sector.

Nebo said, “Looking at what Nigeria is trying to do, we are planning to generate 40,000 megawatts by 2020, but when you look at the capacity of Nigeria to absorb electricity, that will not be enough.”

He said there was the need for more IPPs to be involved, arguing that with increased opportunities, even those who lost out in the bidding process of the sale of PHCN, could start their own infrastructure in participating in power generation, transmission and distribution.

On dealing with alleged ‘mafia’ group in the power sector, Nebo noted that God would empower him to chase out the mafia, which he termed “demons and witches.”

He said, “Some highly placed Nigerians believe that when there is outage, it is caused by witches and demons.

“If the President deploys me in the power sector, I believe that given my performance at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where I drove out the witches and demons, God will also give me the power to drive out the demons in the power sector.”

He lamented that while South Africa generates 40,000 megawatts for its 40million population, Nigeria is still battling with 4,000 megawatts for about 170 million of her people.

Turaki on his part, called for the training of the military deployed for assignments in terrorists prone areas of the country to enable them to relate well with civil authorities.

He said the problem of insecurity could be tackled through a close collaboration between the agencies, while shunning inter agency rivalry.

He expressed support for the deployment of troops to Mali, saying that the funding and training for insurgents in the country are located in Mali.

“Nigeria should attack the base of the terrorists in Mali, because only Niger stands between Nigeria and Mali. If we don’t join other nations to fight the terrorists in Mali, they can find their way into Niger and then into Nigeria,” he said.

Speaking on the decay in the Police Force, Turaki noted that “the problems facing the Nigerian Police are so legendary. The decay had gone on for so long a time. It is easy to destroy, but rebuilding will take some more time.”

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Soccer-my Ambition Is To Coach In England, Guardiola Says by ogayor(op): 3:45pm On Jan 16, 2013
MADRID, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Pep Guardiola finds English football "fascinating" and his ambition is to manage a Premier League club in future, the sought-after former Barcelona coach said.
Guardiola, 41, took a year off after leading Barca to 14 trophies in four campaigns, including two Champions League crowns and three straight La Liga titles, and confirmed this month he will return to coaching next term.
He has been linked by the media with English clubs Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City, Bundesliga side Bayern Munich and Paris St Germain in France.
"I've always found English football very fascinating, just for the environment, the crowd and the supporters," Guardiola, speaking from New York where he has been living with his family, said in a message on the English Football Association's website (www.thefa.com).
"As a player, I couldn't realise my dream to play there but I hope in the future, I have a challenge to be a coach or a manager there and feel the experience of all the coaches and players that have been there," he said.
"It is unique, to play in that league. I want to feel the supporters, the environment, the media and the style of the players and everything.
"I am still young, just 41, so I hope in the future I could be able to train there and enjoy that."
Guardiola was speaking to the FA as part of the organisation's 150th anniversary celebrations.
"I would like to say congratulations and happy birthday for the 150 years to English soccer and all of the people around English football," he said.
"Enjoy it, because you deserve that and you have been very important in the development of our beautiful, beautiful game." (Reporting by Iain Rogers, editing by Amlan Chakraborty)

Nairaland GeneralEnd Of Year Fraud! Segun Agbaje`s GTB In Trouble Over Total`s Missing N850m! by ogayor(op): 9:40am On Jan 01, 2013
According to what National Enquirer magazine reported, whilst other banks are closing their end of the year books in peace and fanfare, Segun Agbaje, the managing director of Guaranty Trust Bank has been having sleepless nights over a huge sum of money that developed wings and flew out of the bank`s vault through some of its crooked staff at the information technology department.

According to inside sources, your soar away magazine, National Enquirer gathered reliably that, a whopping sum of N850m (eight hundred and fifty million Naira only) belonging to the multinational oil firm, Total Nigeria Unlimited has been moved out of the oil company`s account from the vault of Guarantee Trust Bank.

The scam which has been tagged “fraud of the year” by detectives in Area F Police Command where the case was reported has seen some staff of GTB been detained at the Police Command while the bank`s management has started running from pillar to post to cover the embarrassing situation

We were informed that, some crooked staff at the IT department of GTB hacked into one of the tellers` systems in Central Business District, Alausa branch and moved out the N850m out twice, the money, we gathered further was transferred via bank drafts into an account belonging to a Mallam trading under a bureau de change name, BDC Bureau De Change in Abuja.

Though we`re still investigating the details of the story, efforts to get GTB`s side have been abortive as severally we called some of those at the Corporate Communications department for response, none of them, Oge, and Lashe picked their calls.

We have sent some of our reporters to Area F in Ikeja to speak to the Investigating Police Officer, one Mr. Akeke to tell us how many of the GTB staffers are in detention including the branch head, Eniola Akiode and how much the bail is worth. We shall serve you details as events unfold.

If anyone work Is destroyed so bad.

But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life—a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:11, 12 MSG)

In a statement to E! News, the singer said, "This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program...I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them."

pimp_lucious :
How silly Of President Jonathan To Go On His Knees At Redeemed Camp Again

I am watching Channels TV News@10 and the sight before me is highly disappointing!!!!!

After waving and smiling sheepishly to the crowd and delivering his score-card speech, the shoeless fool once again knelt down with all of his Presidential anointing in PUBLIC before Pastor Adeboye. VERY DISGUSTING!!!!!!

Does this man knows the implication of that singular action on the psyche of the 150M Nigerians, many of whom are muslims and men of other faith, whose sovereignty he holds for them in trust?

This man is truly very foolish and a clown
I wish you wake up from your frustration. Let this man Jonathan even rolled in front of the King of kings. Our maker. It is not too much for him compare to what God has done for him. Besides, the 150m Nigerian you made mentioned of are like chaff before the Awesome God whom He knelt down for to pray. Don't let frustration destroy you.

Good development.
Meanwhile, government needs to be quickly reminded that with this development, we don't need all this third layer ministers again.
Like Minister for Power
Minister of State for Power 1
Minister of State for Power 2 etc

I would like to see a single ministry Like Ministry for Utility where Power, Communication, Transportation, Aviation etc will respond to.

All these Ministry for road,Ministry for railway, Ministry for Aviation (Aeroplane), Ministry for water, Ministry for these and that are just sucking this country dry with no commensurate result to show for their existence.

God bless Nigeria
PoliticsRe: What Is Wrong With Having Buhari As The President Of This Nation? by ogayor: 6:41am On Dec 08, 2012
It is time we stopped living in the far past. Buhari or no Buhari.
Don't you all think that something is absolute wrong with our system called NIGERIA?
Remember if this man comes in now, not as a military junta who can wield total power to itself.
Remember if this man comes in now, he will have to work with several myopic and fraudulent representatives in the name of senators and Honorable Reps.
Remember Human being are unpredictable
Don't put your reputation at risk to predict success for this MAN name Buhari if he however become Nigerian president.
It is time we started thinking and behaving like a good person, and a collection of good person will make a good and great nation.

If you ever think that someone, maybe like Buhari has the MIDAS touch on NIGERIA, expect big and unfavourable surprises or I reserve my comments till then.

Lets move into the future, let us work on our individual attitude, that is where the MIDAs touch is hidden not in one man.

FamilyMY CANDID Thots....hear What Oprah Winfrey Had To Say About Men by ogayor(op): 8:57am On Nov 30, 2012
I got this note from a friend and it struck a chord in me so i decided to share it with all i hope you learn something from it like i did...Some may have read, if you have, read again, I did and it still struck chords.... to the people who haven't? What the heck, knock yourselves out!
HEAR WHAT OPRAH WINFREY HAD TO SAY ABOUT MEN.

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away .If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.

Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior. Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that's not meant to be. Slower is better.

If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you, as you deserve then heck no, you can't 'be friends'. A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.

Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is! Don’t stay because you think 'it will get better’. You’ll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women. He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.

Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you. If something bothers you, speak up.
Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.

You cannot change a man's behaviour. Change comes from within.
Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...Even if he has more education or in a better job. Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.

Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else's man. A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
All men are NOT dogs. There are still loads of nice ones out there.

You should not be the one doing all the bending...Compromise is two way street.
You need time to heal between relationships...There is nothing cute about baggage...Deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship!
You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...A relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals...!
Look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.

Dating is fun...even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right.

Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always knows where you are, and you're always readily available to him - he takes it for granted.
Never move into his mother's house.
Never co-sign for a man.

Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.
Keep him in your radar but get to know others. Scared of being alone is what makes a lot of women stay in relationships that are abusive or hurtful! You should know that: You’re the best thing that could ever happen to anyone and if a man mistreats you, he'll miss out on a good thing.

If he was attracted to you in the 1st place, just know that he's not the only one. They’re all watching you, so you have a lot of choices. Make the right one.

Ladies take care of your own hearts!
Share this with other women. You'll make someone smile, another rethink her choices.......................Bleep
