Nobody said Igbos created pidgin nor that it's spoken by Igbos alone. We are saying that the word Ashawo is Igbo word which Igbos borrowed from yorubas and igbonized. If you come to Igboland people use Ashawo while speaking Igbo not while speaking pidgin

Broke English by definition = A type of English that has some element of local content in it. Broken English varies by accent and local content. It doesn’t not have to be derived from an English word. Words like commot … has got nothing to do with English language nor is it linked to any local language… those are broken English words that got adopted and accepted. The Carribean patio is constructed exactly like this too.

To reaffirm, the word Ashewo is a Yoruba word, borrowed by broken English and used across West African countries that speak broken English. In parts, this is accelerated by the fact that most Afro beats originated from Lagos which happens to be a Yoruba state.

Jamaican pidgin still use "unu" which is the correct igbo.
This was exactly how a Yoruba word Ashewo was corrupted to Ashawo by Igbos before it entered Pidgin
