illicit: Ok now
When u loan a word from a language to call something
It usually means that that same thing was not present in your environment before
It's usually that you borrowed that thing and the name it's called
If you have that thing before, you will have a name for it
To the best of my knowledge, the benins used to have Ogiso, which is a duke
When Yoruba introduced Kingship to them, the name came with it Some borrow a word they have before and after sometimes the borrowed word become more popular. I'm not applying it to Ife/Benin wahala oo For example. In Igbo language Prostitute = Akwuna But yoruba word Ashewo which is pronounce as Ashawo in igbo accent is more popular. Even Flavor's song "Ashawo' was a hit |

Politics › Re: Gov Soludo Has Commissioned 5 Indigenous Industries In Anambra In 2023 (Photos) by Ogene001: 9:49am On Dec 01, 2023 |
SoNature: This is another wishful thinking. Anambra cannot overtake Lagos for many several reasons, including Lagos popularity, consistency in policy-making (this is good for business), propensity to spend (citizens' disposable income), and huge population.
Plus, Lagos attracts many foreign companies that bring in a lot of foreign currency to the state. No country or state ever attained greatness without foreign intervention. Local industries are good but foreign investors bring in more money to rev up the state's IGR, create jobs and increase GDP. If you like fold your hands in your brown roofs and be giving yourself false hope with this rubbish |

Ofodirinwa: I also agree with this, Lagos is still a middle income city, and middle income can be surpassed, especially with the right focus which Anambra people have. Research has proven that Aba has higher income per capita than Lagos. Aba City not Abia state |

nairalanda1: Better the oppostion unites around PDP in 2027, and gets rid of APC once and for all.
Coup always ends with the same old corrupt system in place, only this time with more repression.
If we want better governance, we got to put pressure on the people in power. Coup would not only make matters worse, but if the army rulers turn out to be awful, we won't have any means of putting pressure on them. Only if PDP fields SE candidate and supported by everybody |

Until the law is change to allow everyone import anything from any port
That's the Koko
Soludo wanted to build pharmaceutical industrial layout in Anambra as minimum 60% of local pharmaceutical companies are owned by igbos
They told him the truth... Pharmaceutical and chemicals can only be imported through apapa not even tincan
That's why they are all in Lagos and Ogun
Such laws are the main reasons investors are holding back That's why I laugh at yorubas making mouth. SW needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs SW |

All this explanation reeling out history of complex conquests and empire administration is a waste of time. The ancestors of whom you're trying to educate lived in mushroom communities each made of around 5 mud huts, wearing palmfronds and selling palmkernel nuts. Thy don't see their neighbours until market days that hold every 2 weeks. So stories like this will be strange and and too complex for him. Igboland is just like Japan. All the empires are in rumbles and backwards shit hole. Look at Iraq that house ancient Babylon and compare to Japa that had no empire? Tokyo is the largest city on Earth today. By 19th century it was just tiny scattered villages. Conquest, empires etc are inferior evolution and hindrance to technology advancement. Onitsha and it's environs is now the largest urban area by landmass, through trade, commerce and industry not by any conquest or political machinations which is for weaklings who have a primitive urge to find strength in numbers |
