If he is not powerful, then how was he able to remain in PDP while still serving as minister under APC? Do you think PDP would have spared any other person dare to do so?

What do you expect Fubara to do other than what he has been doing? Do you think governor too has no limit in exercising power within a state?
That's not Fubara business for him still remaining in PDP and working for APC, but as long as Rivers State is concern Wike is gone. Do you still hear of Amaechi the super minister that had Buharis ears. Don't worry it's turn by turn

Obi approached a mad man for advice, it resulted in the sack of Abia and Imo indigenes from the Anambra State Civil Service.

While Lagos is now competing with the economy of other African States, Anambra is struggling to compete with the economy of Kogi State.

Nigerians have a choice before them.

PoliticsRe: IGP Egbetokun: Tinubu Transformed My Life 24 Hours After I Met Him by Oghene86: 8:36am On Aug 21, 2024
Dapromzy333:
The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun has said that President Bola Tinubu transformed his life in 1998 within 24 hours when he first met him as a young officer noting that President Bola Tinubu made a significant impact on his life and career.

Egbetokun who made the revelations at the unveiling of a book in his honour titled, “Readings in Policing, Peace, and Security” at the Police Conference Centre, Abuja said, “I thank the Almighty God by whose grace I’m alive today to receive this incredible honour. My life and career are a testament to God’s infinite mercy. It has been God for me.

“As I’m standing here today, my mouth is filled with testimonies. I would have loved to share some of these testimonies, but today is not Thanksgiving Day. I will, therefore, reserve the details of that for another day.

“I must, however, acknowledge the significant impact of a particular individual on my life and career. I met President Bola Tinubu in 1998, and that meeting produced a positive transformation in my life within 24 hours. That story is also a testimony that I would like to leave for another day“.

Egbetokun said the book would serve as a reference material and a source of inspiration for young officers adding, “The book will not only be a reference material, but it is also going to inspire the new generation of law enforcement officers in Nigeria. “

“I can also confidently say that this book is an indispensable result for scholars, policymakers and practitioners in the field of policing, peace and security.

In his remarks, President Bola Tinubu who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume described the book as a fitting tribute to the IG.

The President said Egbetokun’s
dedication to the principles of justice, peace and security has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s policy landscape saying, “I stand before you today at this public presentation of a book that embodies both the essence and aspirations of our nation’s internal security efforts.

“The book ‘Readings in Policing, Peace and Security’ is a fitting tribute to Dr Kayode Egbetokun, our esteemed Inspector General of Police, a man whose dedication to the principles of justice, peace and security has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s policy landscape.

“When I was asked to write the foreword for this remarkable compilation, I accepted without hesitation. This was not merely because of the gravity of the subject, Policing, peace and security at this critical juncture in our national experience, but also because of the extraordinary individual it honours.

“Dr. Ebetokun is a paragon of integrity and professionalism, a police officer whose career has been marked by a steadfast commitment to duty and an unwavering resolve in the face of challenges.”

Disclosing that Egbetokun served diligently when he was his Chief Security Officer during his tenure as the Lagos State governor, Tinubu said, “He is a man I have had the privilege to know and work with closely, particularly during my tenure as Governor of Lagos State, where he served with distinction as my Chief Security Officer.

“The Society for Peace Studies and Practice, along with its collaborating institutions, deserves commendation for recognizing excellence and celebrating it by bringing together renowned scholars and peace practitioners.

“Their efforts have resulted in this anthology of original research and reflective articles that delve deeply into the complex dynamics of internal security management.

“This publication is not just timely, it is a necessary resource that undoubtedly has a lasting impact on the practice of law enforcement in Nigeria.

“Egbetokun is one of those rare figures who has consistently stood tall and resolute in our nation’s security architecture. “

BREAKING: PDP Moves to Halt Fubara’s Defection, Sends Party Leaders to Meet Him in Rivers

Photo of Daniel Daniel Daniel Daniel Follow on TwitterAugust 20, 2024 2 minutes read

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made an effort to prevent Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, from defecting from the party.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the PDP has sent a high-powered delegation to meet with him in Rivers State.

The delegation, comprising top party leaders, including the BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara; former Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi; elder statesman, Olabode George; and Senator Abdul Ningi, arrived in Port Harcourt on Tuesday to persuade Governor Fubara to remain in the PDP.

Recall that for months, speculation has been rife that Governor Fubara had left the PDP. To this, the governor had maintained silence on his next move, fueling further speculation.

Addressing the delegation, Governor Fubara expressed doubts about his membership in the PDP but acknowledged that the visit by the BoT had reassured him of his recognition as a party member.

“But, so far, what is important this afternoon is that we are still members of the party, and the owners of the party have visited us.

“So, for those people outside who are carrying all sorts of rumour and propaganda, at least, this visit will put that propaganda to rest, and to tell the world that we are and we still remain members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” he said.

The Chairman of the BoT, Senator Adolphus Wabara, revealed that the party was desperate to prevent losing Rivers State to the APC, citing the strong opposition presence in the state.

He said, “We were scared Sir, when we heard or read speculations, perceptions or what have you, that the party, if we are not careful, might lose Rivers State. Of course, if we loose Rivers State, Nigeria has lost its future,” he said.

“We don’t want what happened in 2015, and 2023 to repeat itself. These men and women you see here are very neutral. But as the conscience of the party, we must go by the rule of law. And anything you do, going by the rule of law, can never be wrong. It may be delayed, but it cannot be wrong.”

Wabara added, “I don’t want to describe it. Otherwise, as a Governor, we have former Governors here, I doubt if they would have taken as much as you have. So, on behalf of this party, once again, let me thank you for your resilience, your wisdom, and for the fact that you are still in this party.

“And to assure you that the Board of Trustees under my watch and with these serious minded Nigerians, will deal with the matter as constitutionally allowed.”
They know what to do hand over the structure of the party to him and expel Wike from the party, if not they can kiss Rivers State good bye

Claire2023:
EXCLUSIVE: LP CANDIDATE OLUMIDE AKPATA IN SECRET ALLIANCE WITH APC

... Sponsored to waste votes in Edo South Senatorial district*

Fresh facts have emerged revealing stunning details of how Labour Party Governorship candidate in Edo State, Olumide Akpata is working in secret alliance with All Progressives Congress(APC) and is being sponsored by the party to waste votes and undermine the chances of Peoples Democractic Party(PDP) in Edo South Senatorial district ahead of the forthcoming Guber Election in Edo State.

Akpata has been a very close friend and business ally to President Bola Tinubu and their relationship dates back to 2001 when Tinubu was Governor of Lagos State. It is said that Tinubu played a major role in Akpata's emergence as NBA President and the President was also instrumental to his recent decision to join Labour party in July 2023 and has been a major financier of his Governorship bid right from the Primaries.

Insider sources in Aso Rock reveal that President Tinubu and APC are behind Olumide Akpata's Governorship ambition in Labour Party. Their ultimate agenda is not to support him to win, but to use him as proxy candidate to divide the votes in the cosmopolitan Edo South Senatorial district which is considered a PDP stronghold and which also has the highest number of registered voters in Edo State.

The Labour Party whose flag Akpata will be flying in the Guber race, won last year's Presidential election in the state, a reflection of the Party's popularity in the State.

Akpata deliberately set out to leverage on the existing "Obidient Movement" built around Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. The movement is very popular in Edo State and the APC considers it a major threat and stumbling block to their quest to take over Edo hence the secret engagement of Akpata as a 3rd force to whittle down PDP's influence in the zone.

"Akpata was neither a member of Labour Party nor part of the Obidient movement during the 2023 General elections in Edo State. He was no where to be found when the likes of Dr. Isaiah Osifo and Dr. Azemhe Azena who are now candidates of APGA and NNPP were championing Labour Party in Edo State" A Labour Party Chieftain disclosed

Findings show that Akpata is being sponsored heavily by the Presidency through the office of the Chief of Staff to President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. In February, he received $850 thousand dollars from the Presidency to grab the Labour Party ticket against Kenneth Imansuangbon, Hon. Sergius Oguns and other Aspirants from Edo Central Senatorial District. He also received additional N1.6 Billion for his Ward campaign tours and N450 Million Naira for TV ads specifically in May 2024.

It may be recalled that the Labour Party Primaries that produced Akpata was characterised by serious controversies and has been the subject of unending litigations in court over allegations of manipulation of delegates list, bribery, corruption and sharing of 1,500 Dollars per Delegate.

With barely a month to Election, Akpata was last week sighted in Abuja holding late night meetings with Gbajabiamila and Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Borno state Governor's lodge in Asokoro. It is believed that President Tinubu has more than a passive interest in Edo State and has mandated the trio of VP Shettima, Senate President Akpabio and Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila to deploy all necessary resources required to assist Akpata to remain in the race against PDP.
Wasted funds because PDP would still win the election, the APC candidate is nothing to write home about, it's a shame that's the kind of candidate APC can produce. The forget this election and come back in 4yrs time again
