iwaeda: The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has said he has been threatened many times by unknown persons who are against the reforms in the country’s power sector.
Adelabu, a former Oyo State governorship candidate, said he would not be bullied and intimidated by those against the progress and success recorded in the sector.
Speaking during an interview on Fresh FM’s ‘Political Circuit’ programme, the former minister asserted that all problems in the power sector are surmountable.
The minister also claimed that cabals and cartels are behind the blowing up of power transmission substations with dynamites and the pulling down of a power line.

He said, “There will be resistance, people stand in your way, saboteurs and others. Let me say this for the first time. I receive threat calls,” he said.
“I am the 49th power minister in the country. The past ministers were probably bullied and intimated in their work. It does not take ordinary people to blow up a power transmission substation with dynamites and pull down a power line.
Related News FG promises varsities, hospitals electricity subsidy 5,000MW power generation shameful, says minister Minister assures Nigerians of stable power supply “It is an organised crime. It is a cabal and cartel. We are all Nigerians, but we are all Nigerians. We will not run away from ourselves.”
Speaking further on the significant development attained in his one year in office, he said Nigeria had struggled with electricity generation of 4,000 megawatts (MW).
Adelabu added that in less than a year in office, his development plans have added more than 1,000MW of electricity to the capacity of the national grid.
He said, “We have raised the electricity generating capacity from 4,000MW to 5,155MW recorded on the 8th of August, 2024. In the past, it took the country over 25 years to achieve 2,000MW of power, and it took between 1984 and today to achieve an additional 2,000MW.
“When we resumed as a minister, the electricity generated was 4,000MW and within a year, we have added over 1,000MW. Our target is to hit 6,000MW with the support of the Federal Government before the end of this year.”

Kosiso12: “Alex Otti will be the last Labour Party governor of Abia state” – Deputy Speaker, Kalu | #Politicsnigeria
Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives has declared that his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will produce the next governor of Abia state.
Kalu, 53, the former spokesman of the green chambers represents Bende Federal Constituency under the APC.
Alex Otti, a former bank chief is the current governor of Abia state under the platform of the Labour Party.
Speaking in an interview, Kalu said:
”This will be the last time that a Labour governor will govern Abia state. I say it without mincing words. The next governor of Abia state will be APC governor.”
He, however, stated that his friends with the governor, and he has made his stance known to the Abia state chief executive.
His words: ”We are friends, we work together, but I will not be the number six citizen of the country and another party will govern my state. The next election in 2027, APC will be there.
”I have told him publicly and privately that the APC governor will be next in Abia state. How it will happen, I don’t know, but it will happen.
”I am confident because my government is working hard, the president is working hard and Abia will repay the president. The president that has given you the South East Development Commission will be repaid.
”A president that is appointing Abians into administration. A president that is attracting the dividends of democracy will be repaid. We are not ungrateful people. Monkey will not work and baboon chop. APC will not help the state to be strong and Labour will take the credit.
”APC will determine who will become the next governor of Abia state. I don’t care about who the person is. But, one thing I know is the platform, APC, will be the next governor of Abia state.
”We are ready to work for Abia state and we are tired of being outside the government at the center. We need to leverage the power of the center to increase the development of Abia state.”
Kalu further stated that Otti has done well, compared to other state governors, but insisted that Abia should be under the APC.

Ganduje’s denial comes amid posters indicating that he would contest the 2027 presidency with Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State as his running mate.
The posters emerged shortly after reports on the alleged plot to remove Ganduje as the APC national chairman and make him an ambassador.
The APC National Working Committee (NWC) has punctured the report on Ganduje’s attempted removal as false. So what are you eyeing? |

Namaster: Threats are NOT enough. Nigerians do NOT respond to threat.
An IMMEDIATE closure and payment of EXORBITANT fines should be the penalty for hoarding fuel and creating ARTIFICIAL scarcity to inflate prices.
Filling stations are one of the most EVIL institutions in Nigeria. At the mere rumour of a potential increase in petrol price, they'd immediately SHUT DOWN to exacerbate the issue.
But when the price drops, it takes them FOREVER to make adjustments.
Criminals like these DON'T deserve warning but IMMEDIATE punishment. You are right , last week I managed to enter two stations but couldn't buy, reason that the fuel is finished but they have enough fuel |

FreeStuffsNG: I think the Hisbah should confiscate and fine the culprits heavily then handover the bottles to NAFDAC if is still in line with Islamic laws guiding the Hisbah operations.
To destroy such huge number of bottles itself costs a lot of money so this argument is weak since they are equally expending resources to destroy the bottles. May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! Then businesses into sales of alcohol should relocate and the government in turn should stop sending proceeds of alcohol taxes to them since they don't like alcohol |

Both Gbenga Daniels and Ibikunle Amosun should be in jail by now.
Any money paid by FG must be deducted from the FAAC of Ogun state to serve as a deterrent to other states.
If not, a new legal fraud gateway has been opened unknowingly to all governors. The impunity exhibited by our government officials have led to this embarrassment, since they can't buy judgements they are finding it difficult to handle this case. The national assembly should make a law stopping state government from signing contracts foreign companies without the vetting of the federal government. |

DJInfluence: The biggest mistake successive administrations have made of trying to revive the refineries when building new ones would've been much cheaper and better. There's nothing wrong in reviving the old refineries of only we are sincere, there's what we call upgrade in the oil and gas sectors, the refineries could be upgraded, change some major components and designs, I have been in lots of upgrade projects for plants designed and built in the 70s to modern plants. The government need to be sincere if not they will continue like this with nothing to show for it, these are infrastructures built by the military, in 25yrs of democracy we have not seen any done by the civilians so I wonder which is better, we had a better live during the military regime and less security issues but today democracy has turned the whole north to a battle ground and hunger everywhere all in the name of democracy. |
