It's no news that the MBC channels are FTA on Nilesat 7.3^oW but it's news that they're still FTA and pretty easy to track all over Nigeria so long as you have a minimum dish size of 100cm. Their frequency, polarization and symbol rate are 11.559 H 27.500

More or less the same position as the previous channels. The downside is these channels replace the MBC Sports and MBC Sports HD channels.

I am sure the mbc sports still shows. Will check it out once i come back this evening. Maybe your size of dish is the issue. Just my guess.

I know, only specialists in that do it. Whoever needs it should look for them.

This can cost the owner just1.5k . For replacing the chip and the workmanship. There are technicians who knows how to do it very neatly.

Digisat has a dedicated button on its remote for biss. You do not need 8280 to access the biss table. Check the blue button.

Their is more to marriage and love than this trace deficiencies listed. You abused her privacy by going inside her kitchen taking pictures without her consent. How can you judge her with that when the home belongs to her parents. Better start looking for a woman with a good heart. With that you can build a good home. Teach and turn her to Mrs squeaky if you so wish and be happy too. You can trade off all these qualities you are so keen to have now and every other things for a woman with a good heart and care.

A lot of people here are calling Eutelsat 7 west Nilesat. Eutelsat 7 west satellite is different from Nilesat though they are at the same position. The transponder that is hosting MBC on Nilesat is 11938 V 27500 while Eutelsat 7 west (NWA beam) is 11559 V 27500. MBC on Nilesat is receivable with nothing less than 2.4m dish except at the northern Nigeria but Eutelsat 7 west (NWA beam) is receivable with 90cm. So let not mislead any one here.

I had a surprise today. While walking through Onitsha town today. My eyes beheld a surprise. A 4.5m offset dish in a scrap yard. The type banks uses for their server. Just behind it too is a 2m offset dish too at the same scrap yard. I was hiding my excitement so that i wont tip them off on my excitement. The 4.5m is petalized while the 2m dish is not. But there was a problem. One of the petal arm of the dish is missing. I told them though non challatly to look for the missing parts that i might do them a favour to come and pick the scraps up. To me. It is no longer a scrap material. Coming days or weeks will surely reveal more.

MILD
1- You have more than one dish.
2- You have more than one decoder.
3- You've got a drawer full of satellite paraphernalia.
4- You do a blindscan every day.

SERIOUS
6- Your favorite websites which you visit numerous times each day are all satellite related (RDI, lyngsat, flysat, king of sat, nailaland sat technology and many more)
7- Three days cant pass without you adjusting one of your dishes.
8- You have never deleted any channel from you channel list including the scrambled channels.
9- You would give a hand and a leg for information on how to watch the scrambled channels.
10- You kids reluctantly hand over the rcu the moment you step into the house.
EXTREME
11- One of your decoders is more expensive than your tv.
12- You've had a tumble from a ladder or from the rooftop during one of you hunting missions.
13- shop assistants in satellite stores call you by name.
14- All your neighbors are aware of you condition and they have even given you a satellite related nickname.
15- You unconsciously wish for a giant dish so that you can nab all the fringe satellites in your location.
16- The urge to know that you're not missing anything leads you into knocking on peoples gates Whenever you see a dish pointed to a satellite you are not familiar with and enquire on what channels they are receiving.

If you have more than 5 symptoms, you are in over you head. You are beyond salvage. even if the pope and all his bishops locked themselves in St.Peters and fasted for a month they wouldn't get you a miracle cure.

I have always made it a point of duty to read old posts whenever i come up online. But this time i chose to start from page 1. It was really a great resource and store of knowledge and a library too. I equally observed that the quality of contribution has greatly depreciate .My thanks and tribute to these great men who built up this thread with their knowledge and experiences. Come to nilesat then. You will have Bbc news, Aljazeera international, France24, Cnn, Euronews all free

Is it not strange. That here at Onitsha. The signal increases to its highest between 11.30am till late afternoon.

I dont know what you mean by mission schools and public schools. Virtually 70 percent of all public schools here were built by missionaries just like in the south west before the government took it over during the era of Muritala Mohammed. It only took the courage of the former governor of Anambra state Mr. Peter obi to return the management of some of the schools to the missionaries. Not one hundred percent. The government funds the schools and the missionaries runs the daily activities of the schools. So do you now call them missionary schools or public schools?

The schools are or were renovated by the government of Anambra state.... The missions are in charge of the day to day running of the schools while the bills and infrastructure needs are catered for by the government.

I do not know why all this bad belle from Nigerians against Anambra state. The truth remains the the state government is in a partnership with some missionaries. While the state government takes care of the structural needs and improvement of the schools. The missionaries runs the daily operations of the school. I once went to my alma mater and took pictures of teachers quarters which i sent to one of my teacher who i still have his contact. He could not believe his eyes. He could not believe that the house he was seeing was where he once lived. Whatever the poster wrote are all real. Anambra is the place to be now public school wise.

To be fair to the OP, Anambra do have impressive Public schools but most of the pictures you posted on Page 1 and 2 were mission schools. MCCN and Dominicans Abatete.

Please we'd love to see the pictures from the likes of St Charles, Metropolitan College, Washingtonian memorial, Girls High School, Onitsha, Ado Girls, QRC, Modebe, Igwebuike grammar school, NASA, Ogbunike boys, St Monica's and the rest of them legacy public High schools..

Growing up in Onitsha, these schools were our dream schools and we'd like to know how they fare now.

So please, instead of crowding these pages with pictures from the same mission schools, upload pictures from these old legacy schools and label them accordingly.

Seems you left the scene a long time ago. For the past ten years. Anambra state government has invested heavily in public schools. No state in Nigeria can have the liver to do same. All public schools including the ones you mentioned are all in great shape both in structural and human capital. You just need to come and take a look. Even primary schools were not exempted.
