Hey mass communication is broad . So if you want to do a masters in mass communication you have to decide if it’s Public Relations, Advertising, or broadcast journalism. For the latter Western university , university of British Columbia,Rysern University offers journalism programs. You can as well do your own personal research. |

I want to thank you all for the support and most especially almighty God for his grace!
My application was so simple that when i joined on trend 19 i became so worried cos my sister submitted just very few documents.
Age 22 as of when i applied in May but 23 when they approved 1.My bsc statement of result 2.My sponsor’s statement of account and letter of introduction ($51,000) 3.My sponsor’s tax, and where they work and their passport numbers (they stay in Canada) I don’t have any personal relationship with my sponsor (we just claimed first cousin) 4.My sister’s house rent showing she already has an en-suite bedroom in her house in Canada for me. 5.My parents and siblings names and home addresses ( I guess that’s supposed to serve as home ties) 7.my school fees receipt
I was so scared! Last time i had a dream that i was in Canada and a stranger was giving me a gift for my mum! I asked God to give me PPR today as my Mum’s birthday gift! (Today is her birthday)
I want to thank you all for the support y’all dish out here, honestly i come here every hour for support cos i was almost losing it! My application is the least packaged I’ve seen in a while but GRACE found me!

Congratulationsssss.God is good and kind to you.my wait is over. Bukoj: This testimony is a really long one. Thank you Jesus!
Submitted : 15th of May Biometrics: 26th of May Upfront Medicals: 16th of June Correspondence Letter & Passport Request: 9th of September
The background story
When I got my admission to University of Prince Edward Island,I was asked to submit my official transcripts. This was after paying the non refundable acceptance fee of 1k dollars.
After a lot of back and forth, Unilag informed me that my 200 Level results were missing so it was impossible to send my transcripts. I did all I could...pressed all the buttons i could. I was depressed and disappointed with the level of incompetence in the University. After 6 months, UPEI gave me a 5 day deadline and stated that I would lose the admission if they don't receive my official transcripts. The problem was not just about losing the admission or the 1k USD. The real problem was how do I even apply to another University knowing fully well that my results were missing!!!!
I took the matter to God in prayer and fasting and kept sending emails pleading for more time. I couldn't come out straight to say my results were missing. I just blamed the delay on Covid and kept hoping for a miracle.
Meanwhile, when I applied for the admission, I submitted my statement of result and another result from an exchange program in a Russian University. On the 3rd day of my fasting, the school responded to my pleas and asked me to go to a notary public and request that they send my Statement of Result and the exchange program results to them via DHL. I spent money oooo but God showed up. That was how I scaled through and got my unconditional LOA.
I submitted my Visa Application on the 15th of May. Did upfront medicals on the 9th of June and was updated to pass a week after. Then, the waiting began. I had 2 lump sums in my account which I clearly explained in my letter. Sent a webform when I got a welcome letter from the school stating when lectures will resume and other info.
Few weeks ago, the school informed me that if I'm not able to make it by 29th of October, they will have to withdraw me cos I deferred from last year September already. I begged the Course Coordinator to prepare a letter for me stating all that she said so I can send to IRCC. She did and I sent it to them via webform.
Note that I didn't submit my transcripts for the Visa application since I didn't have it. I just submitted the Statement of Result and the other result from Russia. No landed property/documents. My only home tie was my Job and family members. I just kept believing God to finish what he had started and I was consistent in praying and fasting. I join NLP with Pastor Bolaji every morning.
On the 2nd of September, I got partial scholarship worth 6,000 CAD. I informed IRCC via webform.
Today, 9th of September, I received Correspondence Letter and Passport Request. . It's still like a dream ooo..I keep pinching myself to double check.
37 years old and I graduated since 2009. I studied Russian Language and I'm going for an MBA based on my work experience. |

GOD IS GREAT! I couldn't have done it without His grace over me throughout the journey even when I lost hope on the application. I remember finding this thread 3 days after submitting my application, and I felt bad because I made alot of mistakes and didn't include alot of documents in my application, I wanted to withdraw the whole application, but after reading through the thread, I got an insight that all applications are different, any application can be approved or declined, even the ones you least expect, so I became calm and waited. Your Testimony too is neigh, just be calm.
My Tips (From my Experience); 1) Apply for your study VISA at least 6 months before your School's resumption date. 2) When your Application has exceeded 3/4 months without any update, I suggest you send them mails or webforms 3 weekdays in a week between 5am-7am till you get your VISA decision (Your tone in the E-mails should be extremely polite). 3) When your Application has exceeded 3/4 months, you can try sending a mail to an MP (Member of Parliament) of where your school is located in Canada to help you out. Although not all would be willing to help (Mine wasn't). 4) After your Application, only send documents through Webforms when it is very necessary or sent for by your V.O because most times, these documents lead to major delays in your VISA decision.
I hope this helps alot of people. |

It has ended in praise.congratulations .I’m next in Jesus name childgodly: Timeline!! Thank you all so much for all the help I’m a first time applicant and can testify that with this thread you can submit an application on your own. I think it’s worth mentioning that I didn’t submit NSE documents initially. I submitted them later via web form when I saw others getting NSE request and I didn’t get but nothing really changed after that. No ghost updates, no eligibility, nothing. I sent lots of mails with no answer, not even the generic ones. I already deferred so I will not be going till December but at least now I can start making the necessary preparations. Thank you all once again!!
P.s I don’t have a new LOA yet but when I get it what should I do? Should I just send it via webform? |

Congratulations May Canada favour you Yeemmy: PPR ALERT
Application submitted: May 7 Biometrics completed: May 17 Request letter: May 14 Responded via webform: June 1 Responded via NSE platform: July 5 (uploaded Letter of Explanation with letter of English proficiency, and updated personal bank statement). Upfront medicals: June 1 Medicals passed: June 7 BVL: September 1 PPR: September 3
Documents submitted: CV Recommendation letter from my academic supervisors (1st and 2nd degree)—Both hammering on the need of my proposed PhD program and how it would greatly benefit Nigeria. Certificates and transcripts. Letter of support from my brother (He expressly noted the amount he transferred to my account, 2M). Letter of Attestation from my parents. Picture with my parents (recent). Land documents (Agreement).
POF: Funding Letter. Personal bank statement (4 months, with history of 3M). Brother’s bank statement (4 months, foreign account). Brother’s pay slip.
The wait was really daunting and exhausting. At some points, I was overwhelmed and doubting my application - It was after I submitted my application I join this thread, then, I began to raise webforms and SHOOTING EMAILS to Nairobi to further fine tune my application based on the recommendation and advice from the gurus here. More so, I PRAYED AND FASTED so that the VOs should overlook my mistakes
As at this time last year, I cant imagine that I could be at this level, in fact, I was about giving up on scholarship after receiving several love letters from Professors. Then, I give it another trial this year—I am heading to UBC for a PhD program with funding. (B.Tech 2014; MSc 2019).
To God be thy glory. Great is thy faithfulness.
To all PPR Hopefuls: You will get it very soon by the grace of God—Your labour will not be in vain. The mercy and the favour of God will envelope your application. God in His infinite mercies will cover your mistakes and color your efforts. The joy will go round. We all testify to the goodness of God and his name will be magnified. He will surely come through for everyone. He’s a faithful God: He thou has promised; he’s faithful and will make it happen very soon. It is well!
Thank you Everyone, God bless you WHAT GOD CANNOT DO DOES NOT EXIST!!! |
