toluxa1: I expect PDP to have gone to court to seek an injunction to halt the re-run on Thursday immediately. Because it looks to me like if they decide to participate, that option will be off the table. If they decide not to participate without a court order, they are also playing a very risky game. Alot will happen between now and Thursday. All I know is good will prevail over evil.

Politics › Re: Osun 2018 Inconclusive Election - Leave Mahmood Yakubu Alone - Dr. Chima Mathew by OhiOfIhima: 2:49pm On Sep 24, 2018 |
PassingShot: Let us take a look at examples of these inconclusive elections.
Case Number (1) IMO GUBER ELECTIONS 2015 Okorocha( APGA) —-385,671 Ihedioha( PDP) ——-306,142 Margin———79,529 Cancelled votes——-144,715
From the above, it is evident that the margin or victory was lower than the cancelled votes, a number that is enough to alter the balance. The Commission under Professor Attahiru Jega did the needful and promptly declared the elections inconclusive. Take note that my party, the ruling party then hailed the decision and applauded the decision of the INEC, calling it a “patriotic and sound decision “. Of course,APGA kicked against it.A re-run election was scheduled which APGA won.Recall that a similar situation had happened in 2011 in the same IMO between Okorocha and Ikedi Ohakim where INEC had declared the elections inconclusive because elections did not take place in some wards.
Case Number (2) ANAMBRA SENATORIAL ELECTION 2011 Dora Akunyili( APGA) ——-66,273 Chris Ngige ( ACN) ——65,576 Margin —697
INEC declared the elections inconclusive because elections did not take place in some wards with a voting population that was higher than the margin of victory.
Case Number (3) KOGI GUBER ELECTION 2015 Abubakar Audu( APC) —-240,867 Wada Idris ( PDP) —199,514 Margin —————41,353 Cancelled votes ———49,953
Again, the margin here was less than the cancellations and was rightly declared inconclusive by Professor Mahmood Yakubu led INEC. The point to note here was that the APC was by this time the ruling party and clearly had a huge lead but Yakubu still refused to budge under pressure by the ruling party to announce it as winner. My party the PDP applauded it.
CASE NUMBER (4) BAYELSA GUBER ELECTIONS 2015 Dickson ( PDP) ——-105,748 Sylva ( APC)——72,594 Margin ——-33,154 In the case of Bayelsa, a contraption of an election had taken place in Southern Ijaw which had Sylva winning the entire 120,000 votes in that area, but this much maligned Yakubu refused to accept it , declared it inconclusive and ordered a re-run for the number of registered voters were clearly more than the margin of victory. The PDP received this news well and celebrated it.
CASE NUMBER (5) ANAMBRA GUBER ELECTION 2013 Obiano ( APGA) —174,710 Tony Nwoye ( PDP) —-94,956 Margin——-79,754 Cancelled votes——-113,113 Again the Commission under Jega declared it inconclusive and the PDP celebrated it as a bold move.
I have taken time to outline these numbers to show that even where the margins were wide, and when logic will suggest that the lead would be insurmountable, so long as it is mathematically possible for someone from a losing position to win an election, it was incumbent on the Umpire NOT to declare a winner. They must have forgotten especially that Kogi part. I am neither an APC nor PDP but I like politics play with pure mind and buried self interest to account for the electorates who voted you in.. The truth of the matter is dat 80% of those wailers that will comment on this post will never be patience to read and digest what the man is saying but jumping up and down for negative comments.. Whoever wins, Osun people voice must heard... |

gbigbega: my brother, declaring the election inconclusive is rigging. They couldn't change the figure because PDP already has it that was why they opted for the inconclusive rigging option But bro, what do you think would have been the best option when you know that the margin between the top two runners can still be overturn from the cancelled vote according to INEC constitutions. |

moscobabs: It was last week Monday in Lagos o.
I received a call from my wife that Oshodi-Iyana ipaja road has blocked that if I love myself I should keep my car in office and take public bus to avoid stress and vehicle overheat. That was around 5pm while it was raining in Isolo.
I have #1500 on me and I'm going to Ijoko Ogun state,I dropped my car in office and I take a car from iyana isolo to Oshodi which is just #100 , when I get to Oshodi I couldn't find tollgate or ssngo motor that was the Genesis of my predicament o.Then one LT(yellow bus) came and called tollgate #1000 that was around 6pm, on a normal day tollgate is #300, I refused to board the bus thinking cheaper one will come I stay for another one hour and no motor colame to the busstop I have no choice than to take bike and the bike man says its #2000 I asked the bike man if I can do transfer for him he said no problem but I need to do it now cos he won't want me to delay him when we get to tollgate .
I did the transfer to his account but me and him didn't see the alert to be sure the transaction is successful we both keep waited till we reach Tollgate still the same, I have no choice to than to do another transfer of #2000 that was around 11pm o.This time he receives the alert instantly and he told me it has enter but me didn't receive any debit alert, I just tell him thank u for his patience and I say goodbye to him. It was when I reach home around 12am that one alert came in to my phone and I checked immediately only for me to discover that it was actually 4 alerts ...debit of #2000 twice and debit of VAT+commission twice. That means pay #4,100 to transport myself from oshodi to tollgate if i knew i would have boarded it for #1k Infact its a very bad experience for me Very sad one bro and d bike man has no means of reaching u back... Wish u just sleep inside car till next day.. That is the experience here in Lagos whenever there is rainfall. Very terrible |
