Hello Informanta
Thanks for the insight. Its very helpful
I want to ask where you got the update that UK has not started issuing PGWP for two years after studies?

Informanta:
Honestly am really very happy that persons are seeing great reasons to post in here and share their experiences.... It's really encouraging

To me I take this thread as my own way to end stagnancy in Nigeria....

Like I said earlier I have an experience which I would share relating to my US and Canada visa pursuit but for now we Move* first

New updates from my research so far

United Kingdom

Getting visa into United Kingdom ryt now is just like getting pure water on d road.... Provided you have the required funds for the process but note at the end you must still pay the money. Let me give the story lines starting first with the

UK

1. Apply for admission which you would end up getting even with a 2.2. though for 2.2 candidate you may do a pre-course here in Nigeria just to fulfil all righteousness, ounce you are admitted you would be lured to pay some deposit just to get you the CAS no usually school fees is upto £14000 you may be asked to pay like 4000 or 3000 £ for you to be issued the CAS for you to use and apply for visa

2. Applying for visa you MUST provide a statement of account having a balance of upto 10-12m which would remain untouched for at least 28days prior to your applying for visa, ounce this condition is met your visa is gauranteed provided you don't have tuberculosis as this is d only medical examination done for UK student applicants

3. Upon getting to the UK you would be required to pay the balance of your full tuition fee before you would be allowed to start school

4. I may not be able to confirm fully this number (4) but from persons I have spoken to there, getting a job in UK is currently hard for students, hence it may be dificult for you to cope unless if you really have the money.

5. For now UK have not implemented the 2years PGWP after studies hopefully they would next year but at the moment status quo remains same dat ounce you are done with school you must return back to Nigeria.

Please those in the UK are free to share their tots on the above pls.... Only verified information is needed, it would go along way in helping someone make a defined decision

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by oikotas44: 5:51am On May 03, 2020
Hello everyone
Please as regarding getting a Canada Study Visa I have some questions to ask.

1. For a couple is it possible to get dependent visa along with the Study Visa.
2. After payment of school fees, what amount will be needed as settlement funds for the couple.
3. How long is the Settlement funds supposed to be in the account before printing the bank statement out to be submitted for visa application?

Thanks for your prompt response.

JustMellow:
Hello Passenger1984,

The determination of a visa approval doesn't lie on whether its a college or university. The most important thing is to be able to prove to the VO that you are a genuine student. This can be achieved by being able to show that there is a career advancement or the program entails self-development.

However, to get a Master with your last two years GPA of 3.56 might be tedious given the competitiveness but not impossible to secure an admission which is coupled with other factors like:

1. The quality of your letter of intent
2. The quality of your refent(s) letters
3. Writing sample, publications etc
4. The quality of application received by the school for that intake
5. Ability to secure a supervisor
6. Your background to the course of study
7. etc.

Thus, if you intend to study in a university, applying to more schools for both Master or PGD/C would be the best idea depending on your pocket size. At it stands, you can easily secure admission in either college or university that offers a PGD/C.

To this end, you've made a good selection by choosing Fanshawe college.

Good luck

DMainMan:
In addition to what LaaJiblik told you, ensure you only look for employer who is eligible to sponsor for Tier 2.

The below link will help you:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-k-shortage-occupation-list
https://www.gre.ac.uk/visa/after-your-study/tier-2-visas

Also, if your occupation is on shortage list, your Tier 2 visa fees will be lesser. Also, it will be much more easier to get a sponsor as the minimum annual salary theshold is reduced. If you want to obtain permanent UK residency after your Tier 2 visa has expired, you will be exempt from the £35,000 salary requirement if your job is on the shortage list.
Hi
Please I need your advice.
I have four years civil engineering experience in Nigeria and the profession I found out is on the Shortage list 2121.
Is it possible to get a job offer from outside UK from an employer? If yes how do I go about it.
Many Thanks in anticipation

Hi togobingi
How are you.
I am pretty new to this information. I have 6 years Cognate Civil Engineering Experience with a University Degree from Uniben. I want to find out if I am eligible and also. What Language Proficiency for English is normally requested?

togobingi:
Booking an appointment was hard for me. You have to check every day and book as soon as you see an available slot. Some of the guys outside the consulate may be able to help.

As soon as you book an appointment, get all your documents ready before the day. I booked an appointement 2 months in advance.

After I had the interview and submitted my documents on the same day, it took them 5 days to get back to me. They asked me to get another medical insurance because AIICO wasn't accepted (then I went to Fintiba). After that, it took another 5 days to get my passport back.

You need to have the complete amount in your blocked account before the appointment date if not they won't approve your visa. That is your proof that you will have enough to survive while you are in Germany.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS @Nemum0615.. I wish you and yours very well in the Maple City.. I also use this opportunity to Tap into your Testimony for all of us that are still in the journey. Newmum0615:
Can everyone take a seat please? It’s going to be quite a read.

It’s my turn. grin

PPR has come to the glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

It has been a lonnnnng but rewarding experience here on this thread and in this EE journey. I have learnt a lot through months of research and waiting. If you had told me anything about relocating from Nigeria before the second week of August 2017, I would have rolled my eyes at you in apparent indifference. I was never one for living abroad. I love visiting on vacations, buying plenty stuff and coming back home. However, one day at the end of the 2nd week of August 2017, I was in the car with my husband, on our way to work and I remember vividly how I stumbled on Testden while browsing through the internet that morning. I decided to read a little and I just became fascinated with the practice texts and solving the questions. A colleague of mine who moved to Australia last year had been harping on about migrating, but I had no such plans. Hubby and I are doing quite well here, and I am also so close to my parents that the thought of staying so far away from them kept me from taking the leap.

Initially, practicing the IELTS questions was just for fun but I had a light bulb moment one day while still recovering from a surgery that almost cost me my life in a Nigerian hospital. A supposedly ‘big’ hospital. Why not take the test and work towards getting outta here? I asked myself. Hubby didn't agree at first. He is a believer now.

So voila! My first connection to anything Canadian was the IELTS test discovery via Testden. During my recuperation period, I decided that I needed a better life not just for myself but also for my kids. I considered Australia, but there is a disconnect between my first degree and work experience so I didn’t stand a chance. Canada was next on my list. I went on to research on the internet; CIC site and Nairaland popped up first among others. I have always engaged Nairaland as my go-to place for 1st hand practical experience on just about anything. It really needs to be rated among the top internet search engines in the world. We are great like that!

So, lemme not bore you with my long story joor.

Here is my timeline:

Decision to immigrate: 2nd week of August 2017.

WES evaluation received: 15th November 2017

IELTS: L8.5 R9 S7.5 W7.5

Hubby: Did very well. Maxed out on scores.

EE profile created: 1st December 2017

ITA: 6th December 2017

AOR: 1st February 2018

NA1: 2nd February 2018

Medicals passed/IP1: 12th February 2018

NA2: 16th February 2018

IP2: 27th February 2018 (the mass movement)

1st GCMS notes (ordered via gcmsbuddy.com): April, 2018 Received in less than 2 weeks

2nd GCMS notes (ordered via gcmsbuddy.com): June, 2018 Received one month later

ADR: 2 days ago. Day 179. Height & Color info + Copies of passport biodata pages (as if I didn’t provide it before) angry

PPR Mail: 1st August 2018. Received around past noon today. I was actually speaking in faith this morning when I was teasing y'all about having correct news grin. I just had the feeling. grin

VO: Almighty London

AOR to PPR: A whooping 181 days! cry

Other details:

POF: I used 3 T-bills certificates, account statement and other sources of funds. Reference letter from bank and letter from hubby giving consent to use his own portion of the funds. Used affidavit and LOE to explain huge inflows from hubby cos they were quite significant (upfront allowance from his employer). I had almost 3 times the amount needed for a family of three, so I had to exclude other sources of funds so that I don’t complicate things with a bulky upload and overwhelm the VO.

Whew! It was a battle getting that file to compress. After a 6-hour battle on submission day, I was finally able to compress it to 3.7mb. Made a mistake on the LOE in calculating total amount, was about to upload the whole file in the POF placeholder when I got a call from hubby that he had observed a mistake from his review. Had to abort mission ( grin), correct it, rescan before remerging and uploading.

Employment: Got letter from my previous employer (didn’t use it in the end cos I couldn’t decide on the right NOC for it), added role in personal history. Used the one from my current employer, LOE explaining NOC change, work mails, Tax card, Staff ID card, my call card and that of my line manager. No payslips or SOA. Although I got maximum score for my previous role with current employer, I also declared my one and half year current role, same employer under my work history cos both roles showed on the same reference letter anyway, and so I had to upload the same doc again for this current role (Thanks happytbaby for calling my mind to this one. I might have missed it). Hmm, was so scared throughout the process cos I had used a different job title and NOC before ITA, but apparently, it wasn’t a biggie (thanks to @cochtrane, @einsteino, @happytbaby & @Blackbuddy for allaying my fears on this).

Education: IELTS TRF, ECA report, Degree certificates. ECA process was pretty straightforward, Naija Uni represented well. UK school, of course didn’t disappoint.

Hubby’s Education: No ECA done for either degree.

Medicals: Done at Q-Life a day before I submitted (I no dey plan travel soon, so had to shift it as far away as possible). Very seamless process.

Photos: Studio 24. The hard copies we did have expired in the wake of this delay. We have to retake them.

Legal document for name change: Submitted one & the same person affidavit for hubby.

LOE: Submitted Schedule A, old UK Visa refusal notes for hubby and 1, Travel History form, affidavit for one & the same person for hubby and his birth certificate (for different names on his docs).

CSE: I noticed that I had mistakenly swapped documents in the wrong placeholders. Raised CSE and notified them of the error.

GCMS Notes: 1st & 2nd were fine. No issues.

So, as I drop my pen, abi fingers (cheesy), let me acknowledge and thank everyone for the great job we are all doing here. You guys are amaaaaazing! Agents and consultants are seriously learning compared to us.

As I say thank you to each and every one, lemme send a special shout out to people who were and have been consistent in making this thread a success: @40manlappy (you no answer some of my PMs in the early days of my membership here sha, I still dey beef you-smiley), @Kontagious, @happytbaby (God bless you plenty), @Glitteringstar, our able landlady and data analyst, @cochtrane, @einsteino, @Blackbuddy, @mcstan18 (you snuck up on us and became a formidable “elder” smiley), @Hephgirl (I miss you in our midst.), @Elfmannisback (thank you for being our police here), @ysteph, @Ethelia, @luffyhaki, @Tojued, @ArabianRose @TEECANN, @Threemg, @vcole @smslive2 @agates @ jholarharde and many many others I can’t name here. Una too plenty ooooo. Thank you for all the love and support. You guys made the wait easy to bear.

I kept trusting God and believing that my turn will come one day. Months back, I wrote my goods-to-follow list, made a list of all that we were going to sell off. I even decided on the school my son will go to if we were ever able to get a house within the boundary of the school board. I have researched and researched, now it feels like I already live in Canada (except for the cold. grin). I appreciate the Planning for Canada session I was privileged to attend. It’s a pity that the opportunity may end soon. It really helped with my planning.

I appreciate you all for all the times you wished that this day would come sooner. Every time I saw a post praying for my PPR, I would pray and ask God to answer the prayer. May God Almighty, the One who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ever think, ask or even imagine make our ways prosperous and grant us all fulfilled lives in Canada.

We shall meet in Canada one day. One day soon.

Excuse my dramatic post. I wasn’t going to type all these, but you guys have waited for this day, so I didn’t want to fall hand. It has been one hell of a wait. I was expecting serious excitement the day this PPR would come, but I am not as excited as I thought I would be. It’s even surprising to me. I think I am even a little afraid, but God has got me. We will all flourish in Canada. It's a must!

PS: To all our newbies, please take time out to read and understand this process. When you take offense at people who ask you to read more, it gives the impression that people that did exactly that are foolish. Imagine that no one took out time to study the process, who would you have confidence to ask for guidance? Please read, read and read. It can be overwhelming, I know, but the benefits surmount every stress you might encounter in figuring where and how to start. To access even the most basic of services in our Maple Leaf country, you would need to read and understand your rights and entitlements as a PR, T&Cs of certain services and all. Why not start now and imbibe that behavior?

…Off to continue dancing! See you guys lerra.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering but I went for NOC of 0711 for Construction Managers. My Work Experience Titles have been Site Supervisor and Civil Works Supervisor respectively which I have more than 5 years experience. Could this be the reason they do not accept my profile into the Express entry Pool?

Hope you are not putting commas when writing your pof amount. Write as 13000 for example, without commas. See if that works.

Okay This brings me to ask. Can one not meet the 67/100 points and they will tell him/her that he/she is eligible to apply are checking out one's status? I have a CLB of 7 which is required for Express entry, 5 years working experience, WES, what is are they going to need to get one into the pool. I have read that people with CRS even lower than 350 can enter into the pool but will have zero chances of being selected in the pool.
I still cannot understand were I am getting it all wrong though. Like I said I just need to be in the Pool just to have information to proceed in my province interested in. Thanks in anticipation

Age:34
Work Experience is 5 years.

I have a hunch there is something I am not filling appropriately. Please I need all the assistance so I can be able to submit a profile. The Express Entry ID and Job Seeker code is all I need to qualify for the Province I am trying to apply to. Thanks

ysteph:
It appears your IELTS is expired.
You'll need to take another test.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by oikotas44: 6:04am On Jul 19, 2018
Thanks for your time and response.
Does it mean one cannot get into the pool at least with the details I have? I am not considering getting an ITA what I just need is to submit a profile so I can get an express entry ID and a Job Seeker code. After submitting the profile I was not even given a CRS SCore but was just told I am no longer eligible to apply. I did my assessment and had a CRS of 357. I have been trying to submit a profile but it keeps telling me profile ineligible at the end. does it mean 357 cannot get accepted into the pool at least even if they are not selected into the pool? Thanks in anticipation

Jennypharb1:
Several factors could be affecting your eligibility. First is your IELTS score, you need to have at least 8,7,7,7 in Listening, Speaking, Reading and writing to achieve maximum scores on the CRS calculator.

Your age is another factor, do you have any other degrees/certificates apart from your bachelors? Because you need to accumulate more points from each section of the CRS simulator so that you can meet the cut off mark for ITA

Hello there,

Greetings to everyone here. I must commend you all for a wonderful job here in the assistance of each other towards achievement of this Goals. I have been in the train since 2015. I have the following, ECA (Bachelor Degree 4 years), IELTS - LWRSA, 8,7,6.5,7,7, NOC is 0711 - Construction Manager. I have used the online tool to check my eligibility which was specified to be Okay to apply. But getting into the pool has been my problem. Whenever I finish submitting a profile I am immediately greeted with the message you are no longer eligible to apply. Please someone should assist me. Thanks. I just need to be in the pool to have a Job seeker code and also an Express entry ID.
Thanks in anticipation and God bless.

clock89:
If you have verified your eligibility, simulated your CRS scores using the CRS tool and started processing your ECA (because this takes quite some time) while simultaneously preparing for your IELTS then you’re on the right track!

All the best
