Sorry o, it expires after 30 days. Ain't no deleting :-D |
And it really woks, I was a bit apprehensive to use it but eventually took the plunge and have been talking with my mum in the village for free since then. Even if i don't use another mtn service, this one is just on point, @evileye abi na evilspirit, abeg o, 250 is just fine. |
Please has anyone tried the magic number? Does it work? It sounds good but MTN has kinda shown me in the past so one has to be careful, |
Please, is the magic number thing real? If yes, how can i get it? MTN has kinda shown me but this one sounds very nice. Thanks in advance |
You guys are incredible! Big up yourselves!! |
Can i import the songs while it is still charging? Yes, you can. Once you plug your nano into a computer, it starts charging and updating the songs on your nano. What is podcast and how can I get them? I don't know either :-) Can I transfer video there too? How please? Not onto a nano, you can't. But you can put pictures on it. Can I listen to fm radio on the ipod. No you can't. At least not with a nano Can I use it for external recording. Like how? You can use it to store documents (word, excel, etc, ) But I am not sure what you mean by external recording. Can capacity can 2GB holds in terms of number of music and pictures. I think about 500. 4Gb stores about a 1000. Hw much is it? The 4Gb costs about NGN49,000.00 I use it on an UNCONNECTED to the internet laptop, so all i want to know was how to copy the songs on my CD to the ipod. Copy the songs on to your laptop. You can use iTunes for that. And then when you plug it into the laptop, iTunes automatically updates your nano. and also can i take the ipod to the cafe to download those free podcast like i do with my flash and diskette, or do i need to install itunes in every cafe before i can download. As far as I know, yes, you have to install iTunes on all the computers you intend to use. Be careful with that though, because iTunes will update your nano with whatever songs you have on the computer. That means that if there are no songs on the computer, you get no songs on your nano :-) |
48 Laws of Power was written by Robert Green, while Niccolo Machiavelli wrote The Prince. |
I am not sure what you mean by magic realism but it is an excellent book. Very evocative. If you get an opportunity, please read it. |
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. @ delarontus: I think you should buy the Enid Blyton books if you can find them, I would like to buy the Pacesetters series. If anyone knows where I can get them, please let me know - the old good print ones not the ones that were printed on newsprint, |
The British Council library is on Thompson Avenue in Ikoyi, behind the MTN switch but they have only English and colonial authors. The USIS library is directly behind NECOM house on Lagos. They have only American authors. Used books - try bookstores opposite Tejuosho Market or under the bridge at CMS and environs. New books you can get at Glendora in Falomo Shopping Center, Ikoyi. Books r Us in Golden Plaza, Ikoyi, Bookworm at Eko Hotel Shopping Mall, and Nu Metro, The Galleria on Ahmadu Bello Way. There are also bookstores in Eko Hotel itself and Ikoyi Hotel as well. The airport is also a good source of books. There used to be a book club somewhere on Okah-Avae Road, off Finbarrs Road in Akoka and one in Palmgrove, can't remember where, |
Very well said, nightrider. |
@timmy: It will pass, don't worry about it. But you should realise that to your parents, you will forever be their baby...Even when you are 65...In the same way that you will always see your children as your babies even when they are 65. And no, you don't hate them. You just don't see things the way they do and they do not see things the way you do. That is just not possible. Strange thing is, when you get older, your views on some issues will converge. You should give some serious thought to moving out though...especially as you seem to be doing well, financially. There can't be two captains in a ship and at a certain age, you need your own time and space. For peace to reign. |
You are entitled to your opinion as we all are, I am sure. |
No, as a matter of fact, Seun, some educated parents do not know better. A lot of them refuse to discipline their children at all. That attitude is in the long run certainly more destructive than that of the old school parents.. And I can assure you, I am not even slightly illiterate... ![]() |
Hi guys, I want to say that I will kill the child that insults me but let's face it, sometimes we adults sef...I mean as Latoya said, the child doesn't want to fail. At 32, my parents still consider me their baby but some of the things they do sometimes make me wonder...So while yes, yes, yes, na me when born am, na me go kill am, I will make sure that I have done as far as possible the right thing wrt bringing them up and all. After that.... ![]() |
@Angelgal: I thought it was only me o....And why must they all sound the same I don't know if it is old age but I really can't tell the difference between Ginuwine and Tyrese...I try, abi ![]() |
Noted, Slave Girl, Efuru, and You Gotta Laugh Before You Can Cry. Thanks, guys..... |
Well, Amos Tutuola is Yoruba and his books are written in a kind of broken english with a lot of Yoruba (and translations) in it....I don't speak the language so I cannot say that I have had the pleasure of reading books written in Yoruba... |
No Nigerian writer is more celebrated than Wole Soyinka, I think. Purple Hibiscus is excellent. In the vein of Things Fall Apart....The Famished Road is a little hard but it is a great book, nonetheless. The Palm Wine Drunkard by Amos Tutuola is another good book but may be a little difficult to find. |
There are many people who read (otherwise, we would have absolutely no bookstores or bookclubs) but for the most part, Nigerians certainly do not have a reading culture. Sad, really because books (Not Mills and Boons or James Hadley Chase they may have their uses) expand one's horizon and broaden one's mind. It's just sad.@charlisco, may I suggest Purple Hibiscus by Ngozi Adichie or The Famished Road by Ben Okri.... |
@ ababoy1, done. Thanks. Abba's music was not dancing music as such...but it certainly was important music in those days. And Boney M, Shalamar... Whacko rules o...forget all that drama, the man/boy knows his business... BTW, did this turn out to be the 30's forum? |

I have and am still living the Independent Woman life in Lagos and I must say, house wife wins hands down....and I am not too sure that being a house wife is easier than working. However because of my independent streak, I'll be running my own business. That will also give me the flexibility I need to cater to my husband and children's needs...I am a bit conservative, you see..Of course, my husband will be picking up all my bills (men need to feel like men ) and whatever I make, I decide what I want to do with it. Yangie, you got it right the first time, I think. I do not like the thought of not being able to go to my children's interhouse sports day because I have an urgent meeting...Why on earth did I have them then?? I think most women want to be good wives and mothers without giving up their individuality. How possible that is, I am not sure but we will see...Ladies, if this is the case, then as hard as it may probably be, I think there is a compromise for your situation. You just need to look a little harder for it. |
Kinda like a hail...It means cool down or as my brothers would say "coo dahn" ![]() |
You guys are too funny. ![]() No, I am not a Deeper Life member..I am just too lazy, I guess. And no, I don't think I look too witchy ![]() Sistas, sistas, down girls ... |
