ebenezary:No, it is not included. I have used it but mainly for brand building. |
rukyboy:The engineer said the grand floor is 250sqm in total. |
samuelson06:We needed to floor the pit, however water won't allow us due to the area. We had to use 2 pumping machine to drain the water while we do the floor until it dries. The two pipes is where the machine are drying the water through. Without that, the flooring won't be successful. |
rukyboy:I will get the figure from the engineer. |
rukyboy:Total sqm is 380. The height of the roof I can't say accurately but they joined 2 length of 2by6 planks for each of the "kinpost". Note that i am not a builder. I opened the thread mainly because it's a personal project and maybe some people might find it useful. |
after covering

Let me update this thread since i have not finished the project. Though i already moved in. On the first week of December, 2021, i attempted to sink the soakaway but water didn't allow us. For that December attempt, 8 bags of dangote cement, 6 bags of quick dry cement, hole-less blocks, and nylon, all wasted due to the unsuccessful attempt. Those worker also collected 30,000 Naira despite the failed attempt. I was happy because i learnt a major lesson and i didn't feel bad for wasting almost 100k for the attempt. After that December attempt, i have to wait for the water level to go down. So, towards the end of February 2022, i made a second attempt and this time, it was successful. How we did it. I hired 2 pumping machine for 2 days. Both need to work for about 36 hours. I bought 10 bags of dangote cement, and 8 bags of quick dry cement. I also bought nylon. I bought 60 pcs of 6 inches hole-less blocks. I bought 30 litres of fuel (200 Naira per litre) We dried the water, cast the floor and allow the pumping machine to run for 36 hours. After the 36 hours, we observe little leakages, very little that the water can't be more than 5 sachets of pure water in 2 hours. However, we can't leave it to continue. I hired a pumping machine this time and we plaster the leaking area and allow the machine to run for 6 hours, and the leakage stopped completely. Next, the carpenter did his work. I bought 12 lenghts of 12mm iron, and 3 lenghts of 10mm to cover the soakaway. 1500 Naira binding wire. For the cover, i bought 8 bags of dangote cement. Below is the complete expenses for the soakaway: 1. The initial carpenter work = 53,000 Naira. 2. 20 lengths of 12mm iron = 4,500 x 20 = 90,000 3. 5 lengths of 10mm iron = 3500 x5 = 17,500 4. binding wire = 3000 Naira 5. Welder (iron bender) workmanship = 25,000 (approximately) 6. 20 bags of dangote cement = 4000 x 20 = 80,000 7. bricklayer workmanship = 15,000 8. Sinking the soakaway = 30,000 Naira 9. 1st attempt casting the floor = 30,000 Naira (workmanship) 10. 8 bags of dangote cement = 4000 x 8 = 32,000 11. 6 bags of quick dry cement = 600 x 6 = 3600 12. 2nd attempt casting the floor = 30,000 (workmanship) 13. rental for 2 pumping machine = 3500 per day (2 day rental for each) = 14,000 Naira 14. 30 litres of fuel = 200 Naira per litre x 30 = 6000 15. 10 bags of dangote cement = 4000 x 10 = 40,000 16. 8 bags of quick dry cement = 600 x 8 = 4800 covering the soakaway 17. capenter = 30,000 Naira 18. 12pcs of 12mm iron = 4,500 each = 54000 19. 1 length of 10mm = 3,500 20. binding wire = 1,500 Naira 21. welder (iron bender) = 10,000 workmanship 22. 8 bags of dangote cement = 4000 x 8 = 32,000 23. bricklayer = 12,000 Naira (workmanship Total = 616,900 (the actual money spent is slightly more than this)

Oduduwa707:My pleasure |
Oduduwa707:The painter (a close friend) calculated the materials needed for screeding and painting together (on my instruction). The painting plus material was 800k I think he paid the screeder 50k. |
system000001:I can give you, but the guy can be very annoying o. He likes to delay work especially when it's almost done. He nearly made me run into price increase for gerard due to his delay. |
jackslow:Yes i do. Kindly check this link https://ojasweb.com/fix-google-ads-disapproval/ |
seanwilliam:The artwork type is better for two reasons: 1. Lighter weight on the wall. 2. Cheaper both in resources and workmanship. Most people that recommend the cast type don't know how the artwork type works. But with my experience when my own was mounted, i will always go with the artwork type. Also, 2.4M will no longer be enough for your roof considering the fact that gerard is now about 4k per sqm as against my own which was 3,250 per sqm. |
thatsleepboy1:You can start by offering solutions to excel problems. You can identify some of the problems and list your service on Fiverr. |
@seanwilliam For the roof, I bought; 500 pieces of 2by4 (hardwood) 400 pieces of 2by3 (hardwood) 24 pieces of 2by6 (hardwood) nails The wood, nails and transport cost about 700,000 Naira. The carpenter collected 90,000 Naira. I bought 380sqm gerard shingles at the rate of 3,250 per sqm. Ridges and gutter, 145,000 Naira. Transport of gerard to the site 35,000 Naira. Covering of the house 70,000 Naira. These are the major ones. |
hifamily:Kindly share the screenshot of what you're saying. |
byrron:Sorry about that bro. Do you mean that they never replied your appeal? |
lilioj:Thank you. You shall. |
ebenezary:I appreciate you Sir. |

Oflaylay:Including the wall tiling, it should be slightly above 50 bags. |
HacheNoire:Let me get first hand price and get back to you on it. I guess you're asking per plot, right. |
HacheNoire:Yes, absolutely. I should be there by Wednesday, hopefully. |
HacheNoire:With your description, the area is along Seme border and the most popular beach on the left side is Suntan beach. The bridge you're talking about is the Gbaji bridge to the major customs checkpoint. There are small small villages along the road but they are not popular. |
HacheNoire:Yes i am. |
Wayne4uall:So far, approximately 14.3M with the land. The land was 1.8 as at the time i bought it September last year. |
Frezhkid10:The picture below is the exterior. I am yet to complete the compound work. Also i am still going to install railings on the veranda.
|
sgtponzihater1:I am from Ondo state. I am actually a person that can live for a month without going out. So i think i find Badagry cool. As regards to security, it is pretty safe. |
