Apologies, my friend...I know I should do more, and I will try from here on in...and I never get the confam pali per se...went in on 476 initially, so I am now just submitting my EOI and hoping on june invite...

OzyMigrant:

Yeah, you can work in any field when you land Aussie. But before then, you can only submit EOI for an occupation you've secured a positive assessment for, so one needs to be very careful at this stage particularly if they have multiple occupational options. If you mistakenly choose a pro-rata, flagged or Indian infested occupation when you don't necessarily have to...........na OYO you dey o!

A friend read computer engineering and assessed as electronic engineer despite having close to 2 decades of mainstream telecoms experience. Now he couldn't wait for electronic long queue ( with a low score) and contemplating another assessment to nominate telecoms network engineer. No one wants to get caught up in such avoidable situation.

As per your submission above, you don't necessarily have to come here only when you need info, you might also want to consider coming around to render help too in your own little way. Many here have long got their Palli but still come around to help others.

I have made moves based on what i have read here, my family is currently making moves, and I am currently waiting for EOI hopefully in june...I just wanted to say a big thanks to all the Mods and the well meaning people who answer all the questions, stupid or not...Na only God fit reward una, Bellong and co...

special shoutout to Malkingburg, by the way. met him and his mrs a few months back. always willing to help with on point advice...

I have written PTE, IELTS General and academic (multiple visa apps and tests written in error) I have been fortunate enough to get superior english assessment for all the tests at the first instance. in my opinion, IELTS is actually easier than PTE, but not in terms of content, but exam structure. One can lose his way very easily in a PTE exam if youre not switched on for 100% of the time. you need to concentrate in your IELTS too, but it is easier to do so in IELTS cos it is a more conventional exam environment, unlike PTE test conditions. AT least, na so I see am sha...

Kindly adhere to EA guidelines.

which is easier is debatable, however most people here lean towards PTE

I believe in the end, as long as you get the positive assessment and eventually get the 189, you can do anything, yeah? so in theory, it shouldnt matter what you get assessed as...at least this is how I have always seen it...and I hope I am right, cos na finance jobs I dey aim for as I dey so, despite professional enginer assessment...pls advise if you have any additional knowledge on this issue.

Wondering why you didn't assess as Telecom Network Engineer since you have equivalent degree

I don't think your PGD alone will fly. You may qualify for "2 or more certificates, diplomas or degrees" if one of your qualifications is for a program of at least 3 years. This is a step just before Masters degree on IRCC ranking of educational qualifications.

Have you considered making your wife the PA since she has UK Masters which earns more marks than a PGD? Is her IELTS result on level 9 too? Is she younger?

You can send me a PM for the Unilag thingy.

Boss, thanks for your reply...I guess it has made things clear for me... we have had dis discussion before, me and my Mrs...her problem be say she no Sabi English...at least not enough to get us a quality CRS score...so that's why it has to be me... I'll just have to negotiate with unilag...

Na unilag o. Dem no wan gree prepare my transcript to WES. So I just wanted to ask: I have a postgraduate diploma from a UK uni that is ready to go for the ITA. should I just send that alone to WES and have it assessed? In other words, is it the number of years of the degree that counts, or the level of the degree? Cos I have IELTS at level 9 ready to go plus four years experience and my Mrs get extra points from UK masters too...unilag is the only thing holding me back. Do I really need to wait for them? Started my journey on the 476 path, but I am now following this my chairman's footsteps. Followed his malaysian route with no hitches. We don land oz now, and we are moving it along. guess who went out of his way to show a brother the ropes on his first day in sydney after i had issues with my train to brisbane. I don siddon for this man house, don chop him food, don follow him wife discuss (wonderful woman, she is)...in summary, thanks for the help sofar. you have been a blessing...

malkinburg:
Hi all, i am glad to finally make this post. The migration journey for me just ended. God has been EXTREMELY gracious to me. landing in this country with a little less than 1000 dollars in February last year, i have successfully graduated in my masters program, obtained a professional job as an environmental consultant while still on bridging visa, and achieved what i couldn't achieve in Nigeria in 5 years all within a stretch of 20 months. i am grateful to the guidance of so many people on this thread. ie Zenkel who showed me how to arrive australia through malaysia on a shoe string budget of 150k, Boss jennakry who enlightened me on opportunities i never knew existed and others who helped and encouraged me on the journey. i will settle down and summarize some important key information yet to be shared on this forum that will help enable new arrivals find a professional job, and also 476 visa holders looking for extra 5 points on what to do to dodge the english bedrock while drilling through to permanent residence. i will also like to encourage others going through a lot of pain and doubting their decisions especially those who came via school route with their partners, it can only get better, don't loose hope. stay focused, the light awaits you at the end of the tunnel.

2004 honda accord for sale. nice, privately used car with low mileage. the car is in generally good condition, although there is a recent scratch that I am willing to deal with for the right buyer. the price is negotiable, but only depending on what I agree with the buyer regarding how much restoration the buyer wants. as I said, I am willing to redo the paint job on the car to suit the buyer's taste, and also fix a broken engine seat, which is why I want 700k. But a buyer willing to do these himself can contact me with an offer and we can talk. pls contact me by email or text if you have any further questions.

This thread is really something else...

well, I just saw this thread and have gone through every single page...took a while, but i finally found some talk about the 476 visa...I already hold this visa, and I plan on going to oz to try my luck by november. after reading all the gist from my fellow 476 guys and the boss that is malkinburg, i have now resolved to start the PR process in nigeria even before i leave, so that e bad as e bad, my PR will be awarded soon after I land in oz by God's grace, assuming i have not found an engineering/any-other-job role by then. I just want to know one thing pls (apologies if it has already been answered):

is it possible for the CDR to be assessed unfavourably?

also, I finished with a bsc in chemical engineering, and a masters in advanced chemical engineering from University of Manchester, UK, and i have 3 years work experience if i include IT. should i try for more points with a skills assessment or should i bone and just go with my current projected 65 points?

I will appreciate all comments relating to this. thanks, everyone...
Business / Re: Naira Quoted At 253/$ As Interbank Market Opens by OJaySeenson: 6:30pm On Jun 20, 2016
Ok, I think it's time for firsthand information. I walked into diamond bank today and asked how I can purchase forex for school and business. I was informed clearly that there is no more form A or any other thing. What the bank will do is ask you for a rate at which you believe the naira should be bought, and using your 'bid rate' they submit an application to buy on the interbank forex market. If your bid is eligible, it can also be submitted to CBN. If you are buying from CBN, then you have to wait till all bids are submitted, and then a benchmark is selected for the day. If your bid is at the benchmark or above, you get your forex. I guess for interbank forex, the only difference will be that your bid is going directly to a seller, who can choose to sell to you or not. Either way, you have to go through the 10 approved banks for forex either from CBN or from the market. So for those asking how to get at this rate, you have to go to the bank and submit an application. If you have all required documents and you are eligible, then chances are you will get your forex. I saw a business man submitting a bid for 17k USD while I was in the bank myself, and I plan on bidding sometime this year. Hopefully things would have stabilized.

You are wrong sir. All these items have already been quoted in dollars for a long time. I can't remember the last time I bought a plane ticket whose price was quoted in naira. Since they were already holding dollar positions before today, the prices are not significantly going to change. At least not the dollar rates, at least. I could be wrong though. Just an opinion.

Okay
The first thing is usually welcome and document check after which
1. There will be a group discussion. - they will usually give you a scenario in a printed document to read analyze and come up with solutions.
Make good contributions, and just be real and professional in all. It will be timed and there will be no group leader.
Composure and your contribution is keep and how you relate to others.

Next is the lucky deep or impromptu speech as it where in front of the panel.
You will pick a paper from a bowl and speak on the topic u pick -
It gonna be a general topic
So they want to know how you can think on the spot and take action.
IT IS GOING TO BE A GENERAL TOPIC so follow current events in Nigeria and the world.
Terrorism, FIFA issue, doping etc just any topic.

You will then have a break and some nice lunch enjoy yourself ..

Next will be the main interview in front of a panel of 4-6 judges.
Be confident make contact.

Most interview usually start with TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF so please prepare well make it Professional and link it well with your academics and professional experience and the role in the long run that's my own approach.
Just prepare well for all general interview questions.
Read about NB PLC, core values etc just be aware
Your previous job and professional experience, your masters topics and project. Why do you want to work with NBPlc, why should you be employed.
LEARN TO RELAX, TAKE YOUR TIME AND SPEAK CLEARLY AND AGAIN EYE CONTACT WITH ALL THEM IS GOOD.

This role is about Logistics so please read about Logisics and transport and what the job entails You will be asked a question or 2 I believe.

Finally for the panel interview make sure you have 1 or 2 questions for them after everything - ask intelligent questions.
Future prospects of the company, how they r adjusting to the current economic challenges - just ask intelligently.

Finally after the panel Interview

another CBT English ( fill in the blank spaces and some fill in the gap with option) maybe a little Mathematics and some mechanical reasoning like logic and pattern.

Then you wait to be called successful by Gods grace

The above is from a brother that made it all the way last year. asked me to share with all that need. success to us all.

and yea, i do have a postgrad degree. i have also been sent a mail asking me to submit all credentials before coming for the assessment. have not gotten the electronic one they said though. just an email asking me to forward docs to the email address.

I am sorry for what seems like the paucity of information here. The property is LBIC JV BLOCK 1, flat 2, at the JAKANDE ESTATE in ISOLO. It is a three bedroom apartment built 6 years ago, with all rooms ensuite. It is located opposite the biggest mosque in the estate. I am sorry I don't have pictures, but that's only because I have only seen the property twice myself. Most relations are handled by my agent. I am unwilling to use an agent anymore because I want the property to move quickly.

bebe2:

Pls, can u try and post pics, is this a block of flats? Or its on a plot?

Where in isolo.
How close is it to the nearest bus stop?

My apologies. I have been offline for a while. There are no pictures because I don't visit the place a lot. I have only been there twice since I bought it about 6 years ago. I have all documents to show to any serious buyer though. It is a 3 bedroom apartment with all rooms ensuite and with burglar proofing. A new development also. Contact me if you require any information.

Only idiots will see this news, verify it, and find a way to say buhari is doing well, or is doing something right and we should believe in him. I voted for buhari, not cos i really wanted to, but because i did not want to vote GEJ. GEJ was so bad, that to be honest, put in that situation, i would still vote a dead goat over him. but buhari piggybacked on a message of change. well, guess what: NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!! open your bloody eyes and see, and realize your intelligence is being insulted!

All over the world, prices of finished petroleum products are falling, but not in nigeria. and now, mr petroleum minister is reintroducting fuel subsidy of 5 naira. fuel currently sells for 86 naira, so why not just tell a sob story and add the five naira to the fuel price? i am already paying 15o naira for black market fuel, so whats an extra 5 naira on the actual price?

this is all a ploy to steal more money. we are going to go back to the days when people got paid subsidy money without bringing in any fuel. Only this time, we wont hear anything about it.

we are finished in this country. and some citizens will continue to allow themselves to suffer because they dont want to admit the truth, Well, me i have accepted that I have been decieved by buhari. I will wait for the end of the tenure so i can vote him out and vote someone else in. What else can one do...

acedboss:

You ask a complicated question. In this case both Germany and Canada have their respective merits. If your wife is able to secure a good job upon arrival in Canada, which I think will be relatively easier compared to Germany, then most if not all of her earnings will be used to pay for your tution. It will be easier for both of you to settle into the country due to the fact that english is spoken there. The disadvantage here is the high cost of tution.
If you choose Germany however, you have the advantage of not having to pay tution fees, but it'll be more difficult for your wife wife get a job cos of of language. she will need over a year to learn the language to a level where she'll she'll able to secure a good job. You can also work while studying....but the bottom line is, nobody can give u the perfect advice. You know all the facts and intricate details we aren't privy to so you're in the best position to weigh all your options and choose d more feasible option, we can only give u a few facts and near accurate assumptions. Weigh your options and most importantly, PRAY. God will never mislead you.

I am just trying to decide if canada or germany is best for her and for us. you know in the end, this whole struggle is for work after studying, and not for studying itself. pls advise your guy abeg. I am asking because i dont really follow the canadian threads. up until a few days ago, my heart was set on germany.

UncleJudax:

There are top schools in both countries. German schools are as competitive as their Canadian counterparts.

Anyways, we are not here to convince anybody to choose Germany per se. After going through the thread though, you shall have an idea about where to "pledge your allegiance".
