this whole "illegal immigration/border crossing" thing is all Justin Trudeau's fault. The guy doesn't know when to shut up. comes on TV with his pretty boy face and sweet tongue and opens the flood gates to refugees who's stories they don't know. He has opened a can of worms that he doesn't know how to close, and now, its likely that legitimate immigrants will end up paying the price...this is the reason liberal governments are doing more harm than good, and they don't even know it...God help us all...

I dont know if anyone has replied to this yet...but be VERY CAREFUL with getting your police certificate. the Nigerian police is NOT YOUR FRIEND on this matter. do your absolute best to ascertain that you are going through the right source or else, you will end up having a very inconvenient conversation with the authorities. There is a lot I cant say on this, but just be very careful.

bday:
Good afternoon everyone,

I just got back from the CID office Alagbon close, Ikoyi to inquire about police character certificate. The way they were acting was suspicious. i.e. I asked how much is it? The lady answered how much did you see online? She eventually told me to bring 1 passport and a photocopy of my international passport bio-data page. A man who works there was insisting i come with him and i had to tell him i don't know him and i came on my own. Please house, how can i tell that the police character certificate i am issued is authentic? Is there a site online i can put the ref no (if there is any)? or something i can do to be 100% sure? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

I respectfully disagree with this. I am not am expert, but I believe what is going on is that people are realising how straightforward the process is, and as such, the quality of the express entry pool is improving. I am stating this only to be a realist, not out of pessimism. Comparing to the Aussie PR process, as the pool quality increased, cut off increased, credentials assessment became much slower,
and processing times for PR became longer (last part may not apply to Canada Sha, cos I think canny boys are far more organised). But my tip for guys with lower scores to to consider provincial nominee points as well.

You never know when Canada will elect their own Trump and this whole express entry thing will follow breeze.

dane15:
If you have less than 442 do not despair.

The low cut-off for 2018 is being sustained. The high scoring applicants are being taken out of the pool for lower future draws.

It will end in praise.

Happytbaby, free this lady abeg.

If you cannot solve her problem, pls don’t compound it.

She didn’t ask you to tell her if her partner’s job/visa is valid or authentic.

Let’s not take issues personal. The fact that you don’t know or think people can get from visa from 9ja doesn’t make it impossible.

happytbaby:
No wahala guys, today is a day that I just did not want any negativity, hence my post about not making comments, I have repented of my sins. If I know something that can remotely help someone, I will share my little knowledge.

I think Canadianfly was joking , I just wanted to find her trouble. Anyway, I just had a very good laugh at the last few posts.

Seriously, I was concerned about the lady. I spoke from my knowledge and made it plain that this is what I know. I would not make any assumptions about something I do not know, my expectations were that others would respond and guide the Madam accordingly.

Thank you all,

@Ctlrunlimited: I will modify the 'we' now. by 'we" I meant all of us, everyone reading the thread.

Just a thought on this matter: two days ago I was sent the case of a 19 year old who went through an agent and believed he had gotten visa to Australia, only to go to airline to buy ticket and be told his visa was fake. They send me his reference number, and a simple check on the Australian immigration website was enough to confirm the visa was very fake indeed. The tone my sister used to ask her questions may not be the best in some eyes, but it is always advisable to stay safe on these streets...make we no enter plan only to land in detention centre for fake papers...

In any case, una too like fight.

Hello, people...i don come again o...Just found out that the gift from my dad came from his company account, not his personal. Friends...a little help o...

We are filling this AOR...and I just want to know, in the personal history section, is it ok to just list only the info that has been copied from the ITA? Or do we need to add everything all the way back to WAEC? Just concerned about how much of it can be verified. Also because most of it doesn't fit in with the NOC at all.

Video seems to support this too...too much variation in potential interpretation of the video. One thing is certain though: the driver sef is a fool. He should have driven her back and cut his losses, rather than driven to his house.
He should have also recorded his side of the story. As things stand, all I see for certain is him sort of assaulting here, and what looks like her trying to defend herself. He played himself.

Ladies and gents, oga don send me message, so make una help me abeg.

Mrs has a passport that is due to expire in November. First, does, the passport have to be valid for 12 months? If yes, Can we still use the passport to apply, and then update it with a new Passport later in the application process? We are thinking this because it might be hard to get a new passport from naija boys since the passport is not close to expiring.

Process is straightforward, yes. But it has gotten very long. At least from am engineers perspective. CDR takes engineers Australia like 4 months to assess, then PR that used to be like 3 months has turned to 7+ months sontin.
And things will likely change by the next financial year. Govt becoming increasingly anti immigrant. Country people can't seem to separate legal residents making money and paying good taxes from refugees...it's a first world country, yes...but the ignorance here is not it at all...

Don't get me wrong, life is good. I have light 24/7 (almost), by God's grace, I am not washing toilet to eat, and if everything works out, I plan to be here at least another year...but I need my pikin to grow up in a place where people are used to black people abeg...

My 2 cents on this as someone who has also gone through the Aussie process as a PA.

DO NOT COUNT ON THE SCORES GOING DOWN. Eventually, people go soji say this process is straightforward. The quality of applicants WILL go up once that happens. CRS scores will go up then. On top of that, processing times for ECA will also skyrocket once they start recieving high volumes of applications. This will affect your timeframes and make it harder to jump into the pool. Finally, you can never legislate against the winds of political change. Trudeau could lose tomorrow to. Canadian Trump that will be all about making Canada great again.

Make hay while the sun shines. If you have the chance now, apply now. If your score seems sorta low and you have the funds, do yourself a favour and try PNP. Just chook head before things change. Me wey dey Australia make I know wetin I dey face wey dey make me dey chase Canada. I don talk my own.

koonlay5:
My thoughts on ITA.

I have this personal fears that the scores might not go down as we think if the current trend persists.

The draw picks a specific number - 2750, which determines the lowest CRS score, then the tie-breaking rule applies.
But we also know that there are a lot of pseudo accounts in the system.
My fear is that these accounts fill up spaces that could eventually bring down the CRS scores.

I rest in the fact that what is meant for us will not elude us.

WES ECA completed 2nd June (started the process Dec 2016, but OOU didn't want me to be great. Paid over 120k to get it don eventually)

EE Profile: 5th June

CRS: 408

OINP NOI: 9th June

OINP AOR: 3rd July

OINP Nomination: 19th July (CRS increased to 1008)

ITA: 2nd Aug

AOR: 16th Sep

MEP/iP1/Na2: 13 Oct

IP2: 15th Dec

ADR: 15th Jan (Height & Eye Color)

PPR: 24th Jan

I'd like to share a few highlights from my application:

Our POF was a savings plan in spouse's name. Got a letter from the financial institution stating the surrender value of the plan and another letter from my spouse authorising me to use the proceeds as settlement funds. Please note that I also had a personal loan running in my own name and it was evident from my bank statements. However the settlement funds remained unencumbered.

No Visa refusal history whatsoever but still ended up in LVO. Although my spouse lived in the UK for a few years.

OINP usually sends NOI to applicants in the pool with CRS 400 and above. Their process is quite straight forward. If you're in the low 400s and you have CAD 1,500 to spare, by all means go for it!

There's so much more I wanna share, but I'm so overwhelmed with emotion at the moment. I guess i'll be back later.

Thanks to all the contributors on this thread. You guys rock!!!!

Wish everyone all the best.

Numerous sites and tips advice candidates to keep an eye on the next question for two reasons

** To help you monitor the keywords to listen so as to catch up with the audio if you miss a question.

Please tell us the real strategy you used in concentrating during the test to get a consecutive band 9.

My brother, me I believe that all you have is performance anxiety. But then again, I could be wrong. I'm surely not the sort to say for sure, cos thanks to God, I have always aced English tests. One thing that did help me while taking my test though, was complete concentration on the recording. I always closed my eyes and wrote down the first answer that came to mind without over thinking. I am sure I missed some, but almost all the time, my answer was right because i have carefully followed every word. Got 9 in three consecutive IELTS listening tests working this way, so it's no fluke. From your practice scores, it sounds to me like you have it in you. Just be calm, concentrate and trust yourself.

canadianxmas:
Guys please don't be angry for the long post but this are trying times for me as well as "matters of the heart" concerning me and IELTS and they said "a problem shared is a problem solved"

I keep getting 7.5 on listening and 6.5 on reading even though I read/practice/prepare as if I'm going for MBBS exam. My practice score for both listening and reading are most often within the range of 38- 40 but "I still dey gbagaun for the actual test " dunno y cry

Here is list of things I think might I be doing wrong when it comes it to the listening section:
i. I write all my ans in caps.
ii. I go back to correct the tenses and more often change from singular to plural and vice versa as the sentence required.
iii. In the last test I took; the question required you answers be written in two words and a number; the speaker called out a date of birth as "22nd the 7th 1985" and I wrote "twenty-second July 1985" was I correct? cos i'm thinking this contributed to my downfall and wouldn't want to fail such a question ever in my life.

In reading, I knew my weakness was T/F/NG; Y/N/NG and matching heading so I took out time to practice question on this alone until I started acing it consistently yet "I still enter 6.5 bus" lipsrsealed aside this I can't point a finger to what could be wrong with the reading section.

I planned on taking the next available test as "e dey hot" but on reading canadianfly's write up, I had to take a second guess cos she really made a good point; but my problem could not be practice as I invest good time in it.

Lastly, could it be BC
