The implant is essentially two components — filters to separate the various substances in the blood, and a ‘ bioreactor ’ which transfers these either to the blood, or to the bladder for removal from the body . These are encased in a hard -wearing box coated in a film made from materials safe for use inside the body . It is connected with tubes to nearby veins and to the bladder .
The artificial kidney first passes blood through layered silicon filters to remove waste and then through the ‘ bioreactor ’ made of lab - grown live kidney cells which reabsorb vital salts , sugars and water into the blood, in a similar way to a real kidney.

Graduates have been cautioned not to share certificate selfies online as fraudsters use them to create fake certificate.
Counterfeiters can use photos of certificates to copy designs such as logos, crests, signatories and even holograms to make bogus certificates.
Documents are then sold on the black market for up to £220 to assist unqualified candidates dupe potential employers. The number of forgeries has increased by 30 per in the past year.
Fakes are so rampant and is now considered a menace that 20 universities, including Imperial College London and Cardiff University have introduced digital certificates.
Employers are then given log-in details to check the education credentials of potential graduate employers.
Jayne Rowley, chief executive of the Higher Education Degree Datacheck service, said that ‘the selfie generation and the need to share these things online’, was aiding the multi-million-pound trade.

* PATH is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to provide technical support to M&E activities. This is a four-month position based in Abuja.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives of the project are to:

* Increase informed demand for and use of condoms.

* Improve access, effectiveness, and reach of condoms through optimizing distribution of free condoms.

* Improve the evidence base to inform decisions and investments by market actors in support of sustainable, equitable use of condoms.
