Breakfast have been describe as the most important meal but Missing breakfast could raises your risk of developing diabetes. Study leader Dr Sabrina Schlesinger, of the German Diabetes Centre in Düsseldorf, said 30 per cent of people around the world are thought to miss breakfast. Ironically, those who are overweight are more likely to miss their morning meal, because they incorrectly believe this will reduce their overall calorie intake. Scientists initially feared this may have skewed the results, because overweight people are far more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. The estimated prevalence of diabetes in Africa is 1% in rural areas, and ranges from 5% to 7% in urban sub-Saharan Africa. There were 1.702.900 cases of diabetes in Nigeria in 2015. But the team found that even when they took body mass into account, people of any weight were still 22 per cent more likely to develop diabetes if they missed out on breakfast. Dr Schlesinger, whose findings are published in the Journal of Nutrition, said: ‘We believe people who miss breakfast have more snacks during the day and eat more calories overall. ‘They also might have a big lunch – and that creates a big glucose and insulin spike, which is not good for the metabolism and increases type 2 diabetes risk.’ She stressed that a breakfast high in wholegrains and cereals and low in red meat and sugar was the most likely to ward off the condition. https://medfort.com.ng/missing-breakfast-raises-your-risk-of-developing-diabetes/ |

The Snake Diet is meant to imitate the eating patterns of wild animals such as snake. It promotes eating one large meal and then fasting for the rest of the day—or even several days. The snake diet is a system built by Canadian athletic trainer, Cole Robinson. The purpose of the snake diet is functional fasting for healing and weight loss. In a 2016 YouTube video , Robinson describes the benefits of his Snake Diet as follows, “Hey, fatty! I’m gonna explain why there’s no other diet out there that is like my snake diet. The main focus of my snake diet is fasting. Fasting is like the holy grail. It speeds up your metabolism" The Snake Diet, he says, is meant to let you “fast as long as possible while still getting all of the calories and macro/micro nutrients your body needs.” In the Facebook Snake Diet Motivation group there are many stories of people fasting on snake juice for a week, 14 days, even 28 days. (And, as Cole explains — they aren’t not eating. They are simply eating their own fat and nutrition stores.) It’s called the Snake Diet because you are eating like a snake. One meal (not necessarily a BIG meal) and then back to not eating for days. No snacks. No nothing — except snake juice. How Snake diet is done Don’t eat (ie — fast). The latest findings reveal that Men’s sperm quality declining yearly due mainly to unhealthy health habits and sedentary lifestyle and health experts are worried that modern life is destroying male fertility. One study by fertility clinics established that the number of active sperm in men’s semen sample drops 1.8 per cent each year. Another study found that male fertility is declining in five out of six American cities. The new findings were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine in Denver, Colorado. The findings compelled the issuance of a public health warning that junk food, lack of exercise and pollution may be fueling the spermaggeddon (sperm death) crisis. Researchers led by the Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia and fertility clinic IVIRMA monitored almost 120,000 men seeking treatment for fertility problems in Spain and the US from 2002 to 2017. What you’ll do To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned: He/She will treat patients in an outpatient clinic setting to ensure proper disease diagnosis, injury care, treatment and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary. The GP will document care delivered and follow up care required using an Electronic Medical Record software. Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements. Some situations will require the GP to coordinate with local and national hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate referrals, monitor and arrange final disposition. The GP will have a leadership role in the clinic. He/She will work closely with the Finance Manager, eHA leadership and Kano clinic Medical Advisor to provide excellent clinical care in a financially sustainable manner. He/She will work closely with health insurance companies and pharmacy benefits managers for care coordination and insurance reimbursement. He/She will manage and supervise a team of 3-4 nurses to deliver clinical care at patients’ homes. He/She will consult with consultant physicians nationally and internationally using telemedicine. He/She will strictly adhere to treatment guidelines and clinic protocols developed by the Medical Advisor in line with current Best Practices and clinical evidence. He/She will respect patient privacy and confidentiality and treat patients with compassion and professionalism. Adheres to Policies and Procedures. Must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 24 months in a 20+ bed hospital in the last 3 years. Hold and maintain a current medical license to practice in Nigeria. Ability to pass a written knowledge test and interview. Certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Advanced Trauma Life Support highly desired. Diagnose and treat common acute conditions such as malaria, typhoid, pneumonia, infectious diarrhea, sexually transmitted infections, intestinal parasitosis etc. Diagnose and treat chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, peptic ulcers, musculoskeletal pain etc. Knowledge and skills to provide vaccination. Knowledge and skills to perform minor trauma care including suturing, plaster casting, I& , debridement etc.Knowledge and skills to stabilize trauma patients prior to transport to higher level of care. Proficient in using a computer for patient care, documentation and communication. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills that include the ability to build effective teams, ability to motivate others, delegate, and make timely/quality decisions. Proficiency working within specialized software utilized in program. According to the data collected, men who were infertile had an average length of 4.92in compared to fertile men with 5.27in. Study leader Dr Austen Slade of the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, said: 'It may not be a striking difference but there was a clear statistical significance. 'It remains to be determined if there are different penile length cut-offs that would predict more severe infertility.' The Leeds University-led research found that organic yoghurts were among the most sugary types - containing more sugar per 100g than cola. Only natural and Greek-style yoghurts could be classed as low in sugar.  The study - published in BMJ Open - comes as government health officials are encouraging manufacturers to reduce the amount of sugar consumed by the public. Yoghurts have been identified as one of the food types on which Public Health England wants to see progress.
