CSTR1005: The technical university of Munich and a couple of other unis have tuition fee for international students on their website. Please don't mislead the public. TUM has no tuition fee for international students. I am currently doing PhD studies at the Technical University of Munich and I'm not paying any tuition fee as an international student. Like I mentioned earlier, only semester fee is paid. Except you're talking about some management courses which might attract some tuition fee. |

CSTR1005: Tuition fee is not free in Germany for international students of non EU/EEA link.
To enjoy free tuition in Germany,, you have to be a citizen of Europe, married to a European, or a family member of a European. And I am sure it is probably the same for France too. It is free sir for almost all public universities. The only thing you pay for is semester fee between 100 to 350 euros depending on the university. Also for visa purpose, you have to provide admission letter from the university and means of finance to cover your living expenses. That's about 8860 euros per year. In general, you don't have to be a citizen of Germany or Europe to enjoy free tuition in Germany. |

DrayZee: So because of "controversy" created by a few people who simply hate the church, then they should stop building universities offering quality education. Wait, scratch that, how come most of you arguing here are still talking about scholarship schemes. Virtually all those universities have scholarship schemes for their church members. So because of "controversy" created by a few people who simply hate the church. I never mentioned anyone hating the church. Like I mentioned, they should set their priorities straight. It is true they have scholarships schemes because I have heard a few but the question is "are these schemes transparent enough to favour those who truly deserve it?". May God help us. |

DrayZee: Leave Higher.Ed first. The thing is a bit personal to him.
Now, did the missionaries build universities when they came here? No Is it cheap to run a university? No Is there any cheap private university (by your standards) on the surface of the earth? No. Even the ones built by the so called "missionaries" charge up to 7million naira per student. So tell me, what miracle do you want the churches to perform to make the universities "free"? [s]So tell me, what miracle do you want the churches to perform to make the universities "free"?[/s]. The only miracle is for them to set their priorities straight. I am not against the churches building universities but looking at the controversies surrounding this, they should stop building the so-called universities since it can't be free. Thank God we have government universities which are quite affordable; they should try to support its members through scholarships schemes/programs. I think this would save them the stress of all these arguements. |

gcof: Out of everything Falz said, it is only the one he said about church that you chose to write long epistle on. Indeed religion has dealt badly with Africans especially Nigerians Exactly what came to my mind too. At the mention of any religious issue, people begin to malfunction while they forget that there are other pressing issues to be addressed. Like you mentioned religion has dealt badly with Africans especially Nigerians. |

CassieV: He said he was born in 1993, shouldn't he use the NPC birth certificate instead? If he has NPC birth certificate, then he can use it, if otherwise, he can use Declaration of Age. There wasn't any condition stated for providing Declaration of Age, which makes it sufficient. |

RalphVwede: Praise God. Got admitted to JLU Giessen for Agrobiotech. Bio/Bioscience ppl with fine grades still on application phase give a shot.
For the visa requirement - NPC birth cert or Declaration of age by head of family, will only "Declaration of Age" be sufficient? I was born 1993. As stated Birth Certificate from National Population Commission or Declaration of Age deposed to by head of Family (Please note that an NPC birth certificate may only be accepted if the applicant is born after December 13th, 1992). From the statement, a Declaration of Age is sufficient. |

Danomil234: If it is year of birth that has issue, what cab one do? It is a more sensitive issue. I really don't have a define answer to this case but I believe experts here can help. I have experienced the month of birth issue that's why I was quick to respond to the other fellow. |

adedejioluwaseu: Thanks Wrote it 2009 I have issue with the month of birth That shouldn't be an issue. It's a minor issue since it is the month of birth and not year. What you will do is to get an affidavit. Take the WAEC certificate and your birth certificate/declaration of age to court for an affidavit. The affidavit specifies that the month on the certificate is incorrect and mentions your real month of birth. So you will always attach this affidavit to the WAEC certificate at all time. All the best. |

adedejioluwaseu: Goodmorning everyone, I want to ask if it is possible my waec online printout can work for my waec certificate for my interview. Thank you Do you have a testimonial? If yes, you can use that as long as it shows your WAEC registration number and also specifies all subjects you registered for WAEC and other extracurricular activities. When did you write your WAEC? and why is your original not with you? Or you haven't yet collected it? |

TJ0987: I emailed BTU and got a response today saying that although tuition is free, they require students to have secured scholarship before agreeing to supervise the prospective PhD students. They claim it is because the course is very intense and cannot afford the distraction of working/side-hustle. It really ruined my mood because I expected some kind of monthly stipend or assistance for PhD students as is the case in some institutions. I feel really discouraged and confused. Doing the PhD in Germany would be amazing, but I don't think i can afford the monthly stipend required for survival. God dey. One love guys! I understand how painful this can be but don't give up on your dreams. I am new here but I can for sure give you some advice on securing a scholarship, but that would be highly dependent on your previous academic strength/performance. I have a few questions for you? (1) What discipline are you? (2) Where did you obtain your BSc and MSc? (3) What are your grades? I don't expect you to reply here but you can PM me if you want further conversation. Good luck |
