Y'all should keep the hopes up...in no time the German embassy will resolve the traffic jam...we just need to keep spamming category A applications.

Ride on crew!
So you think getting a German visa is now your right because you secured an admission in a German University. You're only creating more problems for yourself and innocent people out there because the German embassy don't even care. They are not hungry and if you like, continue spamming, you will remain in naija because of your myopic way of thinking.

Congrats bro, but make sure you have a skill, because life after school is hard unless you have someone that knows another person, some month's back i was gobsmacked when a first class graduate told me life is hards, and he earns 25k monthly teaching in a private school, I was weak, can you imagine? 25k that I spend in a sitting or more than that in a day that's what someone is earning in a month..

This country has really failed alot of youths, politicians have already sunk this country, it's only God that will help..
Tell that your friend to look for a scholarship and leave that shithole called Nigeria. He is not needed in Nigeria. He should explore the internet well and be smart enough.

If u got a master admission AND u have a Postgraduate diploma not older than 2017 with a cgpa >= 2.1 then u are also qualified to book for category A. (Information is power)
Bachelor's Diploma and Master's Diploma are 2 different things. It was clearly stated on the category A requirement as "bachelor" not "postgraduate".

Just look at how disrespectful and aggressive you are? I was trying to make a point and you're saying I shouldn't discourage him. Did I tell him not to go? It's none of my business if he decides to go or not. Even if it eventually goes well or not, it's still none of my business. Life is a risk doesn't mean we should be uncivilized. Look at the hardship now as regards traveling out of Nigeria, it's as a result of accumulated sins of our fellow brothers and sisters who have failed to behave themselves in the past. It's so unfortunate that people like you don't calm down to understand simple analogy instead you support gambling with the future of innocent people. You are also one of the reasons why this country is getting messed up. If I decide to comment on this thread or not doesn't change who or where I am now. It is clear from your perceptive that most Nigerians don't like being told the truth!

You are one of the reasons why the german embassy and most embassies now frown at Nigerians visa applications. Simple instruction, we cannot follow. The conditions were clearly stated for the different categories and you intentionally decided to book the wrong category. Sit down and ask yourself this simple question "deep down, am I qualified for this category?" if your answer is yes, then fine; if no, ask yourself this simple question again "then why did I book it?" Can't you be civilised and adhere to simple instruction? Most people screaming don't have admission yet not to talk of means of finance and they went ahead booking, thereby creating more problems for the ones who already have admission and means of finance. It is people like you that makes them see as us as very desperate set of people. Anyone telling you to go with Faith is joking because germans don't joke with rules. God didn't tell you to test your Faith by disobedience. Good luck

I sent you a PM. Have some important info.

My people I need your advice, there is an error on my transcripts which I didn't notice. I failed a course of which I resit for and is not recorded on my transcripts instead another course was recorded twice in place of it which I didn't fail. One of the schools I applied to just sent me a email that I didn't retake the subject what do I need to do and going back to school to rectify this would take a long time
I'm afraid your university has to rectify it before anything can be done. Pray other schools you applied to don't detect this silly mistake.

I know some1 who applied for medicine but was given statistics, d guy was disappointed, but he believed in destiny, put his all to study that course. He graduated with an extremely good result & immediately after service he got employed at CBN.

The point is sometimes people try desperately to change thier course when they had no idea they are working away from thier correct path. Sometimes when you try to do something & thier are obstacles almost at every single step, My brother do urself a favor & just leave that thing unless of course it's the nature of that stuff to have said obstacles.
The point is sometimes people try desperately to change thier course when they had no idea they are working away from thier correct path

Thank you for this. Your comment inspired mine.

To the OP, identify your passion. Why do you want to study medicine? Growing up, I wanted to be a medical doctor too based on the little information at my disposal but really, I wanted more than sitting in an office, prescribing drugs and going on calls. I actually wanted research, medical research! My passion for research has been my motivation. So know what you really want to do. What are your career goals. Mind you, Google is your friend
Good point and God bless you for pointing out facts. That was why I stated that if he had a strong GP and also finds biochemistry interesting, he could travel abroad to further his studies. Furthering his studies abroad can be in 2 ways

1) He can finance himself (maybe personal/parent/relative support)
2) On scholarship

He could particularly research in an area that bridges both biochemistry and medicine. After high school, I wanted to study medicine but of course, with Nigeria universities admission system, I ended up studying mathematics. Even though I still had a passion for medicine, I made sure I took mathematics serious because that was what life was giving me at that moment. Instead of going back to study medicine, I resolved to pursue a career that bridges both mathematics and medicine. Now, I am currently doing my PhD studies in Biomathematics in Europe. I can categorically say that I feel fulfilled because I am still exploring medicine with mathematical tools. My point here is that our destiny lies in our hands and whatever we feel may work for us, we should do. If it goes well, fine, we gain from it. If on the hand, it goes bad (I don't pray for this), it's a lesson; we learn from it.

How do you earn that sir?

By working ?
Yes, by working as a researcher. I am currently doing PhD studies under a German government scholarship. I actually didn't want to point out the monetary aspect, I only wanted that guy to know that there are lots of things Nigerian youths these days don't know. They are misinformed and they can't even use the internet to inform themselves well.

No long talk the choice is between PhD in biochemistry vs m b b s. MBBS will be more financially rewarding. A fresh PhD holder employed in a federal university as lecturer 2 earns a meager 140k while a fresh Medical doctor employed in a federal medical center earns about 260k. A prof. Earns at most 500k while a medical consultant earns over 850k

After education the next thing is money, more money and much more money otherwise you will be frustrated in life.

The choice is yours
I guess you would have to put a condition on this statement PhD holder employed in a federal university as lecturer 2 earns a meager 140k .

Even as a PhD student here in Europe, I earn more than what a professor earns in Nigeria. Please always condition your statement, his horizons may be more than what you're assuming. Not everyone would settle for less.

We know money is important but a succesful career is more important for now. If in a way, he finds biochemistry interesting and has a good GP, I could suggest he goes abroad for his MSc and PhD. He won't regret it. I have seen students in his field do extensive research in medical labs. Medicine is far more than just prescribing drugs or carrying out operations for sick patients.

[s]Im quite young so i think if i go for my masters and phd as soon as im done i shall be a phd holder by 26 provided everything goes as planned[/s]

Is finishing a PhD at 26 now an achievement? The main question should be what exactly are your career goals? Why do you want to do a masters and PhD in biochemistry? Why do you want to study medicine? Etc

My candid advice is that provided you're doing very well in biochemistry, you could further your studies or career by exploring an area that bridge both biochemistry and medicine.

If you don't like this, then you can go for your medicine if that's what gives you joy. It's better to do what you naturally have passion for. Better later than never.

Shalom!

Dump? brain dead? Lautech is one of the best state universities we have in Nigeria even with the incessant strike currently plaguing the school. Before the strike the school was once one of the best 10 universities and the best state Uni back to back. The school had best URP dept and CSE dept back when I was in school and I graduated in 2012 with a 2.1. I went to Oau for my masters and I defended my result there and still got federal government scholarship while I was on my Msc without help from anybody. You see most of Lautech students pursuing their postgraduate studies are doing well in all of their fields and schools like OAU retained some as lecturers. Some of my Lecturers here in OAU always joke that "Lautech is an extension of OAU" ......meaning Lautech has good students cos most Lautech's lecturers schooled in OAU.
Please next time don't make a statement that you can't support with statistics.
Ps, I know the Schl has its flaws just like any schl but breeding brain deads/ wastes isn't her forte!
You're indeed talking from experience. I'm also a Lautech alumnus and currently doing my PhD in Germany. Infact, since I left Lautech, I've been studying on scholarships. Lautech alumni are scattered all over the world and really doing fine academically and professionally.

As of winter semester 2017/18, international students (from third countries / non-EU countries) who enroll in the bachelor's, teacher's or consecutive master studies must pay tuition fees of 1,500 EUR per semester. Further information can be found here: Tuition fees

https://www.intl.kit.edu/istudent/9074.php
Does one university rule apply to others? It's better you give an instance but please don't generalize. Of course, some public universities now charge some fee but not all. As a matter of fact, most of them don't charge as I type this.
