PoliticsRe: BPP Indicts CBN, Power Ministry, SGF For Padding Budgets by okeamuboy: 1:24pm On Jul 19, 2017
Pls, try to read and understand this things. This whole issue is bound to happen when projects are inserted at the legislative end into without needed planning. Remember we are still having the same problem now, the back and forth between fashola and the house about projects inserted into the budget. Roads that have no design, who do you think will implement those projects. So the end of the day, the whole story would be poor budget implementation.
CharlotteFlair:
The original intention was to embezzle it but for the cat and mouse relationship between the executive and legislature. No doubt, they would have invoiced a major part of it, the little returned was because they could not tie it to something untraceable. Fashola is a smart thief, they should always scrutinize his budgets very well and cut down any bogus demands.

Lol! so funny..I do not think this calls for any argument..atleast now they have a good thing to say about the Lagos state government because it has always been different rants about their people been victimised or targeted because they are outsiders....Its actually impossible for you to construct all the roads and projects if there was nothing on ground in the first place.

Lagos is where it is today by the good foundation laid since 1999 by the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, and continuity is the secret of the constant growth,so if anyone claims he knows Lagos very well,he or she should know this simple part.

Bottom Line - APC Change is no fluke after all.

Even if they embezzle some funds which is debatable, the common masses can still see and enjoy some tangible basic infrastructures like good roads, schools,Hospitals and what have you.Governor Raji Fashola is an Elite and one of the best thing that ever happened to this state, his great contributions and efforts are what Governor Ambode built on,Calling him a tribalist just because he could not touch your part of the state is just simply been myopic.

Its high time we stopped seeing things from the ethnicity point of view,if you are a law abiding citizen and ready to abide by the laws of your immediate locality then Lagos state and Nigeria should be a home for all...My own little opinion!

Are you for real. My brother, You dont live in that area. you are saying festac, okota, amuwo odofin neglected by fashola. Fear God o.

The okota- itire link bridge

The Lagos-Badagry express way, orile, mile 2, alakija, Iganmu. You can go and get pictures yourself.

You know where second rainbow dey for amuwo odofin, all the way to festac link bridge. The network of road connecting apple junction to okota. My guy, you dont stay anywhere near that area.

coolcatty:
Many thanks for being civil....i appreciate that.

Kindly see my reasons below:

1) Deporting of Igbos and Hausas from Lagos.....i have never heard in my adult life that someone can be deported from his own country till fashola,a supposed lawyer did that.

2)Total neglect of all projects in Igbo dominated areas like festac, okota, amuwo odofin, satellite down to okoko...you need to see what Ambode has done in these areas in less than 2years.

I can't just hide my feelings anymore when I hear government complained about allocation from the federation account.
During Governor Fashola's tenure as Lagos State governor, i'd concluded it will be difficult to see a genius like him in power anytime soon.....
With the deprivation of federal allocation to all CDAs not recognised by the immediate past federal government and free ride of corrupt money flowing through power that be...Governor Fashola changed the face of Lagos in a seemingly impossible task....
The regime of another performing governor, his Excellency Governor Ambode lives one in doubt...in the face of recession and freezing of all channels of corruption and denied federal allocation to the new CDAs, the current Lagos government lives me with curiosity....

first thing he did as power minister was to find a way you increase tariffs using lies so he can be accommodated in the DISCO chuwa chuwa

Oga mi, he is the minister, he does not need there accomodation or approval. For me really, the initial power sales process was defective. All fashola is doing now is to just see how they can manage the privatization and make it work.

Pls, lets reason together. the lekki- epe expressway was already been tolled way before the ikoyi link bridge was built. Imagine, the bridge without toll. what do you think would have happened in terms of private investment that had already been sunk into the lekki-epe road.

Come to think of it, the lagos state bought back the concession of the lekki-epe express way before the last elections, so i would think Lagos state owns a chunk if not a large amount of the revenue. So your toll money is working for you abi. Them dey remove roudabout from the road. Oga roads plenty for Lagos o. places you have never been to, i can assure you.

cheesy cheesy cheesy Is the Lekki toll bridge free , was it not built with Tax payers money yet Fashola ran it like a PPI and made people pay to use it daily

How did fashola force people to use a road. is he still there forcing them. because i know the kind traffick on that bridge day and night. Eve sports people are not left behind. Abeg lets just be civil.

Sorry o, I thought people used to call fashola, an elitist governor taking care of the lekki people. So the lekki-ikoyi link bridge, has it been decommissioned.

My brother, life is just a funny scenario when you are dealing with human. Yesterday while the chelsea fans were celebrating there title win, i saw a banner "The real special one". That's conte. If you can comprehend............... I rest my case.

Who is talking of pedestrian bridge ? Ambode has fixed all the bad road in IKEJA GRA, VI, Ikoyi, ogudu that your deceptive master couldn't fix in 8 years, he has built how many Viaduct bridges that your Fashola couldn't do ..He has fixed the Lekki corridor road with tax payers money a project your Fashola couldn't do even though he made us pay every day for using that road , should we talk about the Lagos Response Unit under Ambode , under Fashola that unit would have been another Agbero dumping ground ....can you see that Last mail under Ambode is even better off abi is it the revamped Lagos police ....Some officers were killed just weeks ago and already Ambode has provided their families with compensation this was something Fashola used to take years to do even though the Lagos security trust fund had the one you to pay .....Abeg tell him to go and complete his illubirin project he abandoned

Well done IBB. No matter your faults, that bridge is a reminder to the structures, military regimes put on the Lagos, nay Nigerian landscape. Indeed, a civil and structural engineer - and - an architect's delight.

The National Stadium, Surulere; National Theatre, Iganmu; Kainji Dam; the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport; Three Arms Zone (Aso Villa, Senate & HoR, Judiciary Complex) and so on. All built by the men in uniform!

The fourth republic (not to talk of this current confused, directionless APC administration) is yet to match the structural achievements of the military regimes.
My brother, have u seen the train bridge from orile to CMS? That should be one of the answers u are looking for. And for iconic, yes the third mainland bridge is a hit. But the lagos icon is no more on the mainland, its between lekki and ikoyi. Those who live in lagos know what i am talking about.

PoliticsRe: Akwa-ibom To Spend N500M Naira On Ambulance Services by okeamuboy(op): 12:01am On Sep 06, 2015
okeamuboy:
The Akwa Ibom Government says it is planning to establish a functional ambulance services, estimated to cost about N500 million in order to boost healthcare delivery in the state.

Dr Dominic Ukpong, the State Commissioner for Health, who addressed newsmen on Saturday in Uyo, said that the envisaged services would be part of government’s emergency medical programme.

Ukpong said that the ambulance services would likely take-off as pilot projects in 20 out of the 31 local government areas of the state.

The commissioner said that the emergency medical services would help to reach all parts of the state for now, pending when the state would provide primary healthcare services in communities.

“Many things have gone wrong, the primary healthcare is almost extinct, the secondary health system is bad.

“The state has no money to revamp all the comprehensive health centres or cottage hospitals now.

“So we want to establish the emergency medical services, where people can call and the ambulance will come to carry them to see doctors,” Ukpong said.

Ukpong, who noted that the health services in the state were not efficient, promised to improve the situation.

“I have visited some hospitals at night, some have no light, some hospitals have no bedding, no security at light.

“Many people go to the hospitals and do not see the doctors or nurses and there are no drugs.

“Some medical personnel are hostile to patients, and so many citizens turned their backs on the health system, they prefer churches and traditional herbal treatment,” Ukpong said.

Ukpong said that since assumption of office two months ago, he had held meetings with different health workers’ unions on how to improve health services in the state.

The commissioner disclosed that efforts were being made to pay all entitlements of the health workers to boost their morale and ensure effective healthcare delivery.

PoliticsRe: Nothing Stops Buhari, EFCC From Probing Tinubu And Amaechi by okeamuboy: 9:33pm On Aug 09, 2015
barcanista:
It was shocking that Alhaji Lai Muhammed, the spokesman for All Progressive Congress (APC) will come out in public to make a remark that suggests that APC leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Hon Rotimi Amaechi have no case pending with EFCC. To quote Alhaji Lai Muhammed "With what evidence will the EFCC go after Tinubu or Amaechi. What were they accused of? Why will they go after them if there are no petitions against them?". Is Lai Muhammed really asking what both men are being accused of? I think it is proper to give him a reminder of events.

EFCC's Investigation on Tinubu
In September 2006, the EFCC Chairman Nuhu Ribadu made known before the Senate that then Lagos state Governor, Bola Tinubu is under corruption investigation that is/was of "International dimension". I believe that Nigerians will want to know the outcome of the EFCC investigation against BAT that was said to be of "international dimension". Rather than coming out to ask Nigerians what "Tinubu" is accused of, it will be patriotic for Lai Muhammed to charge the President and EFCC to show transparency and leadership by telling Nigerians the status of the investigation-to determine whether or not BAT has a case to answer.
Ref:www.ocnus.net/artman2/publish/Africa_8/Looting_EFCC_Report_Indicts_15_Governors_26047_printer.shtml

For the record: At no time did ANY court acquit Tinubu of theft. He was only acquitted on the allegation of operating 10 foreign accounts during his 8years as Governor which violated section 7 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15 LFN, 2004 www.vanguardngr.com/2011/12/tinubu-floors-fg/

Petition Against Amaechi Sent To EFCC, Presidency:
On August 5, 2015 it was reported that a group known as The Integrity Group, sent a "well detailed petition of corruption against former governor of Rivers state, Chibuike Amaechi to President Buhari and the EFCC". Neither the Presidency nor the EFCC has denied receipt of the I.G's petition. I don't want to believe that Lai Muhammed made the statement of "no petition" against Amaechi out of ignorance. I will advice that he consult with the EFCC and the Presidency, and encourage them to work on the petition so as to establish the innocence or otherwise of the former governor.
(ref: www.nairaland.com/2505582/petition-buhari-efcc-against-amaechi)

Buhari's Administration Insincerity With Anti-corruption:
Recall that on July 23, Spokesman Femi Adesina made known to Nigerians that the anti-corruption probe will only start and end with the immediate past government. According to him the President won't bother to probe the far past. He further said “The far past will includes Obasanjo and others. But the president has said he will not waste time to go that far.”

However, the above statement is in sharp contrast with Buhari comment/promise when he was running for the same office of the President in 2011 under CPC. In fact, he made it categorically that he will probe from the 1999 administration. In his own words;

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NIgerianWorldForum/conversations/topics/100615

A Challenge To President Buhari and APC:
One of the biggest gaffe of the immediate past administration is the inability to bring alleged corrupt officials to justice (just like its own predecessors). The President should live up to his supposed tag as an anti-corruption czar and bring corrupt officers (whether near past, far past or present) to justice. He should revisit the EFCC investigation/report against Tinubu and others; pursue the petition against Amaechi; and bring every official that has stolen public funds to justice. In absence of sincere anti-corruption fight, he will continue to be seen as insincere and unserious.
