Truth be told....until JK started his campaign, Lagos didnt have Igbos, Yorubas or Hausas. All she had were Lagosians. The hussles and buzzles...the hard life...the struggle for survival...from the bus conductors..to the bus drivers...passengers...commuters...agbero...bla bla bla...they all spoke a common Lagos language...with the common Lagos sharpness...common Lagos alertness and a common Lagos vision...the vision for a better developed, peaceful and greater opportunities Lagos. This bond had built their drive for prosperity...from Tinubu to Fashola...working hand in hand with a very ethnic rich cabinet...made of pat utomu, joe igbokwe, ben akabueze, and a host of others, lagosians had always been lagosians. But like I said...that was until JK started his campaign.
Just like PDP is known..taking devilish advantage of our differences... Religious differences on a national level, ethnic differences on a local level..and even academic differences on certain occasions...this has been the hallmark of pdp.
Lagosians should look beyond these difference as always...vote for the party that has always offered the best. Feel free to vote Ambode or JK ... But keep tribal diff out of the way...because at the end of the day...everyone shares the same struggle.

For those who say Fashola repatriated some Igbos...I ask...What abt the mad men repatriated to ibadan? And the beggars sent back to the north. Let us stop seeing things from a tribal perspective.

1st Lagos is where she is because she was once the capital of Nigeria and her proximity to the sea made international trade and by corollary other business interests flourish to the benefit of indigenous Yoruba tribes in Lagos. It was not because Yoruba tribes had a hand in it. Igbo's, Deltans and more recently Hausa's, have found a profitable living in Lagos. Without this socioeconomic and cultural diversity, Lagosians are either roasting catfish in epe or building brothel shacks in badagary. It is no longer news that a Yoruba will rent his house and move to the fringe of Lagos, ikorodu, epe and badagary to live cheaply.




Igbo's barely exerted 30% effort in the recent elections to raise the ire of Oba mufu. Imagine if they used 150%.. APC will disappear.

It has been a lot more than just a few roads, Akpabio has put in place a plan to fully connect all localities within the state, connecting formally isolated communities with bridges and building roads to an exceptional standard. On that point I must stress the importance of building a road correctly the first time around instead of doing a poor job and then having to pay again for it to be redone in a few years.

AKS roads have been built largely by Julius Berger to the highest specifications, this is in stark comparison to Lagos where Arab Contractors have built roads in the past few years that already look to be in bad shape and exposed drainage on both sides.

A system of underground storm drains has been put in place in Uyo with a plan to increase the network across the state.

Don't get me wrong, I am very fond of parts of Lagos but to compare AKS and Lagos you have to remember what each of them inherited - AKS is not even 30 years old (it was created at the same time as Katsina) and Uyo was not in good shape when Akpabio came into office, meanwhile Lagos is the former Federal Capital. What Akpabio has done has been good but there are questions as to how much wastage there has been. My hope is that in time Nigerians will learn how to govern themselves without abusing their power - we must remember that this experiment with 'democracy' is not even 20 years old but from what I've seen of Nigeria nowadays to what it was in 1999 and 2001, things are significantly better.
