He said, ”The failures on the roads are mostly caused by the incessant rainfall being experienced in many parts of the country, which results in cutting off of roads embankment and collapsing of many carriageway sections at many locations across the country.
“Also excessive traffic, overloading of vehicles coupled with the age of the roads are other factors that have contributed to the dilapidation of the federal roads.
“This hinders the free flow of traffic, causing colossal damages to vehicles, wastages of productive man hours and huge discomfort to road users.
“Our of engineers in the Field Offices have already carried out a route condition survey of the Federal Roads and have identified all critical failures like road embankments washout and failed carriageway section for the agency to take action.”
Direct labour to be deployed
Speaking on how the agency would executive this intervention, Amos said direct labour would be deployed by engaging skilled and unskilled youths in the communities.

He further said that appraisals have been made, including the assessment of works requirement, and estimation of resources like men, materials and machines that will be deployed to achieve the most cost-effective result.

Amos said in order to ensure that maximum results were achieved the agency had designed a good monitoring mechanism for effective and efficient monitoring of all the projects nationwide deploying a management team for inspection
He identified funding as a major challenge in the maintenance of the 36,000 kilometres of federal highways all year round.

What you should know
Nigerians have been faced with the agony of dealing with the deplorable state of federal roads across the country.

This has sometimes in the past necessitated the intervention of the National Assembly with calls on the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to commence immediate repair of federal roads nationwide as they are in a terrible and pathetic state and in some cases not motorable.

That the roads all over the country are in a terrible and pathetic state is not in doubt. There is hardly any state that can boast of having good motorable roads.

Although the Federal Government through several initiatives like its Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Task Credit Scheme, Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) and others, has tried to improve the road infrastructure over the years, however, the road infrastructure deficit is quite huge.

Romance / Men Nature And Sex by okefunsho41(m): 11:24am On Jul 03, 2020
MEN AND SEX

Believe it or not women find it difficult to understand the reason why men love sex.

* If they want to help you, they will demand for sex.
* If they say they love you, they want sex.
* You mistakenly sleep over, they want sex.
* They want to borrow money from you, they want sex.
* They want to give you a job, they want sex.
* They want to give you a pass in your exams, they want sex.

First of all, you need to understand the system of men. They didn't ask for that because they didn't create themselves.

Do you know that 95% of healthy men wake up with an erection? Did they bargain for that? No!
Do you know that the penis has a mind of its own?

A man could be reading his Bible and his penis will just stand.
A man can be sleeping and wakes up with an erection.
A man could be sleeping, once you start rubbing the penis, it
stands even when he is still asleep.

Have you ever asked yourself why men are not on periods, cramps or any bad moods? That's how God created them.
A man is naturally always ready for sex. Rub a man on his head, he already thinks you want sex.
Wink at him, he's already seeing you naked.
Wave at a man walking with his wife, he will loose focus.

This is nothing spiritual. It's not about, "ln Jesus Name or Holy
Ghost Fire".

That's why real churches do not allow ladies with short dresses to sit in front, because they will confuse the Pastor.
Men did not manufacture the high libido by themselves.

We are all created in God's image. The only man that overcame the sexual urge according to the good book was Jesus Christ. Joseph's own was that, he didn't just ran away,
he fled!! Jesus is Lord and on top of that, He was very careful not to include a woman among His disciples.

So many great men have fallen because of sex. Do you think they wanted to?

Soldiers in the war front will develop the urge for sex. To show you how bad it is, so many soldiers were killed during
wars because a woman lured them inside bush.

David in the scriptures sent a woman's husband to the war front when he saw a woman washing outside. He was later
told that it is the wife of his faithful servant who he has sent to war. He took the woman and had sex with her.

Do I need to tell you about Sampson?
Solomon and other Bible characters?
It only takes the grace of God and some level of discipline and maturity to curtail this animalistic instinct.

The way the man's body reacts to the sexual urge is not the same as a woman's body reacts to it. How many great women have you heard messed up because of a dick? Few, or even none.
So next time a man misbehaves because of sex, don't see him as an animal. They are just responding to nature.

Don't be like, "I've lost the respect I had for you, "I thought you were responsible, so this was what you wanted?"

I pray you read this post with realistic understanding.
Men should also understand that it is not all erection that is meant for sex. They should learn to control their urge.

Men are wonderfully created, but
CONTROL YOURSELVES, OH YE MEN!!!

Investment / The Scam Of Forceful Deduction Of N52.50k And Card Maintenance Fee by okefunsho41(m): 6:37am On Nov 14, 2019
Nigerian Banking system some years back brought a policy of charging on any transaction of the N52.50k charges and also if you use ATM card of a bank on another Bank machine three times you will be charged N65 and the most painful part is Monthly Card maintenance fee.
The Nigerian Banking Sector is an unfortunately over-bloated industry that thrives on systemically entrenched policies that defraud us Nigerians and lives on cheating the average citizen of the hard-earned money that is entrusted in their care to help save and invest.
You want to send money to someone from your Nigerian bank account and you first have to plan an extra 52 naira 50kobo, Money that is electronically sent from one Nigerian bank account to another Nigerian bank account.
What exactly are the charges for? Why is this fraud tolerated?
This is systemic corruption and a fundamental banking fraud aimed at impoverishing us Nigerians.
According to Dr Olufunmilayo who spent so many years in the United kingdom shared her experience with Nigeria Banks. She has about three to four UK Bank Cards both credit cards and debit cards, which she said she has NEVER paid any such thing as a “Card Maintenance Fee”. NEVER EVER.
Quoting Doctor Olufunmilayo: 'I have lived in the UK a few years now and NEVER has my bank ever charged me one penny for bank transfer. NEVER. NOT ONCE.
I’m sorry. But that 52 naira 50kobo that Nigerian banks deduct per transaction, what exactly is it for?
Why is no one speaking out against this blatant fraud?
Next is the fraudulent “Card Maintenance Fees” by our Nigerian banks. Please, how are you maintaining a card that lives in my wallet?
Someone said the charges go to NIPOST. I want to believe it is mere trolling as it makes absolutely no sense. Please, How is Nipost involved in an ELECTRONIC money transfer?
Did I put the money in an envelope and post it? Or what?
We deserve better. This is systemic cruelty.
When I applied for ATM Cards in the UK (both debit and credit), I was NEVER charged a penny.
The card is given free.
And “maintenance”, if there’s any such thing, is done free.
IF we never get the chance to see how things happen in other places, we won’t know we are being cheated.
When I applied for an ATM Card in Nigeria, I was charged 1,000 nairas to have one.
And I’m being charged some extra regularly in the presence of an imaginary “Card Maintenance Fees”.
With all these charges and the new policy of our dear government is trying to restrict us from carrying cash around, we would like to look deep in the calculation of all these forceful fee charges by Banks.
Let’s do a little maths, dear friends.
According to NIBSS, as at December 2017, there was almost 65,000 daily Electronic Fund Transfers in 2017. At N52.50k per transaction, that’s over 3 million nairas a day and about 1 billion nairas a year.
Should this Fraud/Scam continue?' How much are these Banks giving savings account holders? this is a means of stealing and scamming Nigerian populace, I think its high time we speak out and get our right.
Culled from Doctor Olufunmilayo experience.

The biggest second-hand car markets in the Republic of Benin are located near our common border post.

What is the logic?

Second hand cars leave Europe. They are headed for Nigeria. But they take the roundabout route. They go not to Apapa ports. They go to Cotonou port. Some are cleared from Cotonou and driven straight to Nigeria through bush paths. Others make a stop over at the second hand car markets that dot Nigeria-Benin border zone. There, they sit and wait for Nigerian buyers.

And Republic of Benin thinks she is smart.

These are cars that should ordinarily come straight to Nigeria because it ought to be cheaper coming the shorter route. But the cunningness of the government of the Republic of Benin, the greed of our corrupt customs officials and the porosity of our borders make the roundabout route more attractive to many.

The Republic of Benin imports more rice in one month than her small population can eat in 5 years. And Benin is not storing rice for her future generations.

We can’t keep a little neighbour who looks after herself and feels astute by letting her back-door be used to undermine our big gates and our self sufficiency efforts.

Rwanda accuses Uganda of illegally detaining 200 of its citizens(Opens in a new browser tab)

The Republic of Benin would say she is not to blame for our porous borders and corrupt custom officials. She may even say that we have infected her own officials with the corruption we have spread all over west Africa. She may even argue that it is Nigerians who import crazily through her port and smuggle the goods across her border. She can feign righteous indignation. She may say after all Niger and Chad import through her too. She can say she is an innocent ECOWAS bystander.

Madam Benin may have no hand in what happens at Seme border, but she is the ultimate chief beneficiary. Smugglers and customs officials get the crumbs. Madam Benin lives on the huge imports flowing through her ports. Benin knows that most of those imports are destined for our porous border posts and hundreds of unmanned smuggling bush paths. If Niger and Chad are the destinations why is she wailing now?

It’s true the republic of Benin cannot inculcate discipline in our custom officers, but we cannot sit astride and watch Benin be used to ruin our economy.

I once took this up with a friend. He imported batteries from South Korea. Most of his consignments came via Cotonou and through Seme. And I couldn’t understand it. He said he paid much more to get them through Apapa ports. And since it was all about competition he settled for Cotonou.

I wondered why the import duties weren’t same at all entry ports.

He insisted that they were not. He said the goods coming through Seme were ECOWAS goods. It didn’t make sense. He said that at Seme the goods were repacked. And five containers of batteries could come in on one truck as one container. I shook my head. He said the Custom officers were part of the business. He asked me why he would use Nigerian ports when it was cheaper to use Cotonou. He confessed that Nigeria was losing trillions in revenues simply because we cannot control the border posts.

He said something else. He said a few individuals enjoyed crazy duty waivers . Those were the few that could use Apapa freely. And since he had to compete with them in the same market he had to route his consignments through Seme where there existed opportunities for him to pay much less in Customs duties. Custom duty waivers and such privileges created uneven playing surface and encouraged smuggling. I understood that. He said Customs officials knew of the abuse of waivers and knew of the exploitation of the Seme route.

The borders are now shut. Benin republic has been weeping. If Madam Benin were weeping because she could not sell locally-manufactured goods and Agric produce to Nigeria, it would be understandable. But Benin is weeping because she is not being allowed to remain a thoroughfare for smugglers ripping apart our economy.

Benin should wipe her tears and face reality.

Since we can make Benin cry, I guess we can make her sit up. Benin has to join hands with us to fight smuggling across our borders, same way Chad and Niger have joined in fighting Boko Haram.

But can Benin do that?

She lives off the huge imports through her port. And the imports are induced by the corruption and smuggling activities at our border. These illegal activities enrich her indirectly. So can she really help to curb them?

Well, we may not mind a small neighbour eating ticks off to backs like a cattle egret. But we would be stupid to let her plunge a beak into our jugular in the name of good neighbourliness. We must make Benin take responsibility. Or we keep the border shut.

We must deter Nigerians from choosing a neighbour’s port. We can do this by making our ports efficient and incentivizing the use of our ports by our people. We must on the other hand make smuggling across our borders prohibitively costly, extremely risky.

Anxiety heightens over cargo scanners induced congestion(Opens in a new browser tab)

We will look after our closest neighbours. It’s a national security imperative .

But when smuggling through our borders rises to the level of serious economic sabotage we must take drastic measures to curb and control. The Republic of Benin has to pledge to fight smuggling across our common borders.

Let’s keep the borders closed until we sort out the mess.

Nigeria and Benin must agree to apply a uniform customs tariffs on selected goods. Benin must agree to a joint customs patrol. Benin must dismantle the markets around border posts. Nigeria must follow up by examining the volume of goods flowing through Cotonou ports. And knowing their destination. Nigerian Customs must go for ‘deliverance.’

Sports / Champions League: Chelsea Vs Barcelona: Team News, Injuries, Possible Lineup by okefunsho41(m): 5:25pm On Feb 19, 2018
Antonio Conte’s Chelsea will continue their campaign for the UEFA Champions League title at home against Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Conte will have to make some changes in defence with David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko both currently dealing with injury problems.

Ross Barkley also remains out of the side with a hamstring problem, whilst Marcos Alonso is expected to return to the team after missing the last two Chelsea games.

Chelsea have struggled to repeat their performances of last season and Antonio Conte’s team currently sits 4th in the league, but they will be boosted by a convincing FA Cup win against Hull City on Friday.

However, Barcelona saw defender, Gerard Pique return to the side over the weekend after a brief stint on the sidelines and he is likely to start again against Chelsea. Thomas Vermaelen, who was expected to miss the game at the Stamford Bridge returns to the squad whilst Nelson Semedo is suspended.

January signing, Philippe Coutinho will miss the game, the Brazilian is cup-tied for the Champions League after featuring for Liverpool earlier this season.

Because I knew power was transient, I chose to speak the truth, no matter the consequences. Some were afraid to speak out against evil because they were afraid of losing their jobs.
All the people they were afraid of years ago, where are they today? For those who are still in power, remember that it is transient. I would never consult praise singers in my palace who tells me I will rule forever on serious issues.
If you want to be a true Nigerian, tell the present government where they are going wrong. Those who loot public funds and steal the commonwealth forget that there is a limit to the amount of food they can eat any given time; that they can only ride in one car at at a time even if they have a fleet of cars, and can only sleep in one bed even if they have so many houses.
Recalling his exit from the CBN, he said: At the end of the day, this job, Central Bank, I'd leave it someday. I could die, or my tenure expires, or I'd be sacked. I had no control over it. But I have control over how I live.
I wasn't surprised about my suspension; I knew it would happen, because I had been asked to resign, and I said no. I was not going to make it easy for anyone. My answer was simple. You asked me to resign for telling you money has been stolen. Ask the minister to resign first.
He said fear holds those in government from speaking truth to power. You forget that the person, either the president or the governor, is also occupying a transient position. All the people that people were afraid of two, three years ago, where are they today?
Power is transient. The only thing that's permanent is what you do for people when you were alive. It does not matter how much you have; you will be remembered for service, not the amount of money you have that you cannot even announce.
-Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
Emir of Kano & former CBN Governor.

8 People Killed In Zaria After A Christian Student Was Accused Of Blasphemy and Social Media is Quiet
.....................................
I don't know why the Nigerian social media space should be quiet at the deaths of 8 people killed in Zamfara state. They were burnt alive after being accused of blasphemy. I just don't get it. How long will we live in our country as slaves?

First, it was the woman in Kano, then Beatrice of Redeem Church killed in Abuja and now 8 innocent people in Zamfara...

If Aisha Buhari travelled to the US or Goodluck Jonathan received an award, social media will go agog but 8 innocent people are killed and no one cares!

I will not keep quiet at this evil. These carnibalistic and barbaric acts have got to stop. If a man can be arrested for naming a dog Buhari, why shouldn't people be accountable for taking innocent lives.

Fellow Nigerians and all well meaning human beings rise up and demand for justice. Those who perpetrated this act should be brought to book. Share this post and make yours with the hash tag:

#JusticeForZamfara8

Let the world know that Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria and the government keeps quiet and does nothing.

If you keep quiet, pls just remember any of those innocent students could have been your loved one!

A Russian Laboratory Invents A New Way Of Removing The Black Skin Layer On Black People (See Photo)

This is unbelievable and yet real. According to a publication of the Moscow Faculty of Sciences, researchers have developed a chemical process to whiten a person quickly.
With a mixture that includes oxytane and benzodiazepine. It would suffice to stay for 6 hours in a bath consisting of 50grams per liter of water. Then the skin peels off naturally. This is in fact the upper skin layer responsible for the color that can be removed. The laboratory at the origin of the discovery has already announced 254 people have been treated by this method. The Russian government may soon allow the reimbursement of this treatment. According to Russian authorities, is an high value for thousands of immigrants who may feel more integrated in Russia once their color matches the one of the premises. A strong point of view decried by the associations of human rights.
