I remember in one of your posts on this thread shortly after our interview where you said something like 'Forkadict will make it cos he has a good heart.' Or something of the sort. Well your prophecy has come to pass. You will make it as well. Keep the faith alive bro! Amen. Thanks a lot. |

He had to include the name so that no other person got confused. I am just curious to see how the object of his amorous intentions will receive the message. Will she just blush? Or will she go feminazi on his hindquarters? loool....I am not aware of that one. |

Eruditor: NLNG employed about 120 in 2007. In 2013, when oil prices were at an astronomical high through to mid 2014, the 150-160 figure was being bandied and I bought it hook, line, sinker, fishing rod, fisherman's arms, his boat et al. Tail end of 2014 and oil figures kept nose-diving erratically up to the last 2 months of 2015 when it has been below 45$ per barrel on average.
This portends unfavourable recruitment times. I am slashing that 160 by half so I came up with 80. NLNG as a company does not have the capacity to employ people beyond the goings-on in their own industry. I wager they would take alot more people via the waiting list and maybe call them up when the market fares better.
Ofcourse I am no authority. I feel the need to stress that. How much will it cost you to be positive? it will cost you nothing. |

Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by okeyjames(m): 6:25pm On Aug 23, 2015 |
NairaQuest: IAS39 deals mostly about fair value accounting and hedge accounting. Yes, it did not specifically talk about how banks should deal with TBills however, when you buy a TBill at a discount, the journal entry is usually a credit to cash for the purchase price and a debit to investment account. By virtue of the realization principle in accounting you have not earned the interest and therefore prudence principle of accounting will not allow you to credit interest revenue on purchase date, rather at maturity or on sales date if you sell it before maturity
For my own edification since I am not in Nigeria and may have lost touch with realities in Nigeria, could you let me know the direction of cash flow when aTBill is purchased Your entries are correct. However, interest is paid upfront. In accordance with the prudence principle, interest is recognized when it is earned. Upon maturity, cash is debited with say 100,000. Investment is credited with 90,000 and Income is credited with 10,000. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by okeyjames(m): 7:30pm On Aug 22, 2015 |
NairaQuest: If that is how you guys treat it in Nigeria, then you are not following international Accounting Standards. Treasury bills are issued at discount and redeemed at par. This means that if you buy a 100,000 TBill with a yield of 10%, you will pay 90,000 on settlement day but on maturity you will receive 100,000 That does not constitute up front interest payment. According to International Accounting Standards Board, the IFRS treatment is that you Debit Investment Account with 90,000 and credit Cash with 90,000 when you purchase the TBill but on maturity you credit Investment Account with 90,000, credit Interest Income with 10,000 and Debit cash with 100,000. This means that interest on a TBill is reported when sold or at maturity whichever comes first but not on an accrual basis.
If this is not what is done in Nigeria, then ICAN needs to change the accounting principles Bros neither IAS 39 nor IFRS 9 specifically states how banks should handle treasury bills. But it is common knowledge that treasury bills are bought at a discount and interest is paid upfront. Read and understand the accounting standards before you misquote. |

The outcome of the AC is no more under my control. I cannot influence any decision now. My chance to influence any decision was during the AC. I thank GOD for the way it went. But I have a GOD WHO has everything under HIS control. HE has said that I will be employed by NLNG when the results are out (Matthew 7 vs 7 and . I will continue to thank HIM until the result manifests physically. Thank YOU LORD. |

I don't know what's going on here. Most people are looking for an avenue to insult or belittle another in the name of correction. what's the point? simple issue, someone will just write a full page insulting another. it doesn't go down well with me abeg. If you insult someone trying to correct him/her then you need to evaluate your communication skills. Going forward, please let's learn to make our point without insults. Na beg I dey beg. |

scarletpimperne: Adequate preparation entails anticipating probable occurrences, likelihood of them occurring and your response when they occur. That includes anticipating insufficient time and difficult team members and how to take care of these. Also, a considerable number of hopefuls focused on just the group exercise without preparing for the others. Hian!!! baba dey give panadol to person way headache kill way lie down inside mortuary.
