He was killed because of his beliefs and movements. He wanted to integrate whites and blacks back then when racism was peak hence his famous "I have a dream speech", so you can imagine that it ticked many people off especially the government and the capitalists who practiced the divide and conquer rule much to their benefits. He was a leader of civil rights (for blacks), and he was trying to change the nation's system that had been the societal norm for a long time. It scared and angered many people. He was a powerful man, striving for a cause that some people disagreed with. The best way to kill the cause is to kill the pioneer of the cause (This remains the reason why His Excellency Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu fled Nigeria and went on a self proclaimed exile because his death at the time will mean the death of Biafra and maybe the Igbo nation). He was a great man, made martyr.[/b]

ABUJA – Angered by the arrest calls that trailed his comment, Monday, that peace will elude Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan is not returned in 2015, the Niger Delta frontline Activist and Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has dared the House of Representatives and the security agencies to arrest him if they can muster the courage to do so even as the former Governor of old Anambra state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife opined that arrests should start with people who had made similar comments in the past.

Asari who is the former President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) also said that any attempt to arrest him will mark the end of Nigeria and called the authorities coward if eventually the threat of his arrest was not affected.

Speaking in a Press Conference in Abuja Thursday, Asari said he does not bat an eyelid over his previous comment on 2015, stressing that he stands by his words that there will be no peace in the country if Jonathan is not re-elected for a second term in office in 2015.

His words: “I stand by my statement which I made in my early press conference, there will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta, but everywhere, if Goodluck Jonathan is not president by 2015, and I want to add that the Fulanis, who migrated and invaded our lands and continue to show disregard and disrespect to the owners of the country they came into, and people have tolerated them for a very long time will no longer continue.”

Your Excellency,I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter under date of December 10, 1968, which has been handed over to me personally by the members of the prestigious Biafran Delegation, Dr. Okechukwu Ikejiani and Mr. Chukwuma Azikiwe, in the course of a special audience held in the National Palace on February 20th 1969.It is with a feeling of great pain that I concerned myself with this important document and analysed the various stages of the tragic condition prevailing in Nigeria ever since 1966. Both the Haitian people and myself have greatly appreciated the basic reasons which prompted you in delegating an extraordinary mission to thePresident for Life of the first independent Negro Republic in the world, that Republic which for over a century and a half incarnated alone Negro dignity and pride while at the same time proving the capability of our race to self government.I have watched with heart sorrows the distressing events which – only in the course of May to October 1966 – culminated in the massacres of some 30,000 persons originating from the East of Nigeria and which plunged over 3 million into despair, physical and moral woes.. Culture, geography and inter-group unions have woven all along history close links between the four great ethnic entities forming the Biafran population, viz. Igbos, Ijaws, Efiks and Ogojas. [b]Fantastic thread by the OP (Except the issue of refrencing which should be addressed) Otherwise what a fantabulous thread for any serious minded woman who is looking to experience a life of bliss when the corporate world finally tells on your body that you can no longer attain the independent, feminist and financial position you used to. God knows that when I finally decide to marry, I will be looking for a woman with all these traits and more except of cause the NO. 7 point (Because of its vitality in todays world were free punny is around every corner). Unfortunately, the sweet feminish character that decribes the aura of womanhood is fast disappearing. What we have today is like another evolution story of monkeys turning to humans;but this time women turning to men in the guise of some western dominated 'gender equity'. No wonder, our men have also evolved into some sort of wild animals excersicing the mike tyson prowess on our 'evolved modern men' at every slight provocation.
