Business / New Start-ups In Nigeria Rises To 5,200 by Olakunle007(m): 9:19am On Sep 19, 2022
A report from Mckinsey says the number of new start-ups in Nigeria and other African countries has hiked to 5,200 companies between 2020 and 2021. As of 2020, the number of start-ups in Nigeria was 3,300, the highest in Africa. The report states that about half of these startups are fintech. It added that fintech had estimated revenue of between $4bn and $6bn in 2020.

The New Phase of FinTech Companies in Nigeria
The firm mentioned this in its ‘Fintech in Africa: The end of the beginning’ report. The report says, “Africa’s financial technology industry is coming of age. “In the face of political and economic challenges and a global pandemic, fintech on the continent is booming. Between 2020 and 2021, the number of tech start-ups in Africa tripled to around 5,200 companies. Just under half of these are fintech, which are making it their business to disrupt and augment traditional financial services”.

Business / The Five Crucial Entrepreneurial Skills For Business Owners by Olakunle007(m): 3:10pm On Oct 14, 2021
"What is it about those entrepreneurs who have achieved the greatest success?" I wondered. What are their shared characteristics and abilities?"

1. Leadership & Vision
Entrepreneurs must have a long-term vision for their business. You must also articulate your vision to inspire employees, investors, and partners to help you realize it.

You must be able to spot staffing gaps, fill them expertly, and guide your team to success. Rarely (if ever) do entrepreneurs start successful businesses on their own.

2. Focus & Execution
Entrepreneurs must be laser-focused to ensure that their objectives are met, consumers are satisfied, and staff is driven. Staying focused is more complex than it appears for most entrepreneurs. Make sure you don't become distracted by the following exciting prospect instead of focusing on your current priorities. Don't allow perfectionism to hold you back from taking action; at the end of the day, a product on the market is preferable to one that has been shelved due to a lack of focus, execution, or perfectionism. As quickly as feasible, go to market and solicit feedback from your clients.

3. Persistence & Passion
As an entrepreneur, you must be enthusiastic about your goals. You must also be willing to devote whatever resources are required of them, whether time, energy, money, or other resources.

You must persevere through difficult moments (which will occur frequently) and fight as hard as possible to reach the goals you and your team have set for yourself. I've never known an entrepreneur who didn't face challenges along the way to success. So, when things get tough, don't give up.

4. Technical skills
You may not need to be the most skilled technician on your team as the owner of your company. However, to lead your technical team and make informed judgments, you must have the requisite foundational knowledge.

For example, I can't develop most dashboard charts myself in my dashboard business. However, I am aware of the metrics that must be plotted. I also comprehend the fundamental structure upon which charts are constructed. As a result, I can tell if a particular graph is viable and how long it should be completed. This is the knowledge I require in order to lead the company properly.

5. Adaptability
Successful Entrepreneursrecognize that the world and the environment in which they operate are ever-changing. While it's essential to keep your eye on the prize, you also need to adapt your strategy and offers to change market conditions.

Remember that many great businesses grew out of flexibility, especially when their first idea failed. PayPal, for example, modified its business model completely when its fundamental technology of allowing one PalmPilot to pay another failed to gain popularity.

So, if something isn't functioning, keep trying until it does. However, keep in mind that adjustment and flexibility may be required.

The good news is that each of the aforementioned characteristics and abilities may be learned. You may either train yourself or force yourself to be more adaptable. You can set objectives for yourself and give them laser focus. And so forth. Make each of these characteristics a habit, and you'll be unable to avoid achieving the success you desire.

You can also talk as man-to-man to the bank customer care agent. Him fit help you get one or two people to stand for you.
