Foreign AffairsThere’s Only 1 U.S. President, I Am Till Jan. 20, 2017, Obama Warns Trump. by Olakunle007(op): 8:55pm On Dec 26, 2016
Outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama has told incoming President Donald Trump to accept the fact that there is only one U.S. President at a time. Obama also told the president-elect that he remains the U.S. President till Jan. 20, 2017, when he would complete his two-term presidency of the U.S. and handover to Trump. Obama’s remarks followed what the White House termed as Trump’s undue interference in U.S. policies since his election. Also ther president-elect had on Thursday, directed the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Ms Samantha Power, to veto the Security Council’s Resolution on Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory. However, the Obama’s administration disregarded Trump’s directive and had gone ahead to abstain from voting on the resolution when it finally came up on Friday, drawing criticisms from the president-elect and his team. The White House, in a response by Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications, Mr Ben Rhodes, obtained by NAN, said the UN Security Council’s Resolution was a policy issue that Trump should not meddle in. “On the President-elect, the first thing I’d just say is that there’s one President at a time. “President Obama is the President of the United States until January 20th, and we are taking this action (abstention), of course, as U.S. policy,” he said. Rhodes explained that there was no any communication between the White House and the President-elect or his staff between when Obama made his decision and when the vote took place. “So I’m not aware that President Obama and the President-elect spoke about this, but again, I’m not — President Obama definitely made no reference to that, so I can’t confirm that this hasn’t come up at all, but I’m not aware of any particular conversation they had about this. “We did hear from the President-elect’s team. Again, our position has been there’s one President at a time. “We’re going to make our decision on this and, frankly, believe that it’s important that there’s a principle here that the world understands who is speaking on behalf of the United States until January 20th and who is speaking on behalf of the United States after January 20th. “And look, the new team will have every opportunity after January 20th to pursue their own policies, to take different approaches. “I’m certain that they will on any number of issues. “We’re just reflecting the simple principle that I think has guided the President-elect transitions historically. “Which is that there is one President at a time and we’re going to execute our duties until the new team is in place and the new President is inaugurated,” the Obama’s aide said. Recalled that following the pressure that Trump reportedly put on Egypt, the sponsor of the resolution, Egypt withdrew it on Thursday and the vote was consequently delayed till Friday. However, the resolution was put forward on Friday by Malaysia, New Zealand, Senegal and Venezuela and the 15-member Council adopted the resolution by a vote of 14 in favour and with one abstention – the U.S., which abstained from voting rather than veto the resolution

This is great! But I think we should keep the sales to only Nigeria for the main time. We don't have enough, why selling out?

You should have mentioned the name of the school for proper guidance. The two are equal to me, but it has to do with the school. Jamb admission letter seems more powerful, it's one of the prerequisite for applying for undergraduate scholarships in Nigeria. Also, I don't think there is any school that doesn't recognise Jamb admission letter. As for the school, be patient, everything will be rectified once admission process start.

this is just too much...what rubbish? I mean she got a very good grade..Wats d ish all abt?? give her d damn admission 4christ sake. or are dey saying dat someone who has 190 is better or only average students are admitted? little wonder why most of our geniuses go out of d country to help themselves... my question is what difference will it make to add her amongst those to be admitted? then if she is not performing well according to the standard marked out for her, then dats where lots of questions are to come in..but den again is Education the true test of knowledge??
With your post, I can't, but come to a conclusion that you couldn't fathom the Provost's post.

Well, let me help you out.

According to the provost, the woman is no 103 on the college data base, and the school is not permitted to admit more than 100 students into Medicine. And to worsen the matter, she still has 2 students ahead of her. Do you mean the other two students are not worth considering? And perhaps, if you think she should be offered another course. Well, someone said the lady is already a student in department of Medical Rrehabilitation, OAU.

lalasticlala and seun, I will come and use both of your heads to knock each now because I don't know when it will take you to take my Professor's topic (sounds strange on nairaland) to front page. A professor of medicine for that matter. A high ranked medical doctor's post which is rare on Nairaland.
I guess the mods were taking their time in making findings about the self-acknowledged Provost, which turned out to be true. I believe, you will agree with me, the alarming number of fake accounts of noble men on Facebook, I think that's what they were putting into check.

EducationRe: 7 Advantages Of Attending A Public University In Nigeria by Olakunle007(m): 9:36pm On Dec 20, 2016
Lakeside2134:
This is no argument, most of the private universities are more efficient, faster, more organized, better funded and better managed so the difference is clear in all aspects and all what the OP listed is just flawed huh huh huh.But don't get me wrong even though the type of university you attend would give you an edge but you guys shouldn't forget that it all boils down to the individual and not the school .

But in all the quality of education in Nigeria is ZERO,like i mean after all this argument we have no Nigerian university(wheter public or whatever) in the Top 1000 universities in the world,so even though private unis are better than their public counterparts they are all still sh*t on the international stage and that's what COUNTS,whats the point of being the best in a third world country like the zoo we live in if we can't even compete internationally and this why people still carry most of their Children abroad if they have the chance.
Bro, UI is among the top 800 universities in the world.

Nice one.. But as intelligent as u r, u shuld have studied a good course like medicine, pharmacy or engineering.
This shows how low your thinking faculty is. I mean no harm, but I am sorry, you need to be reoriented. Perhaps, you don't know, just as medical doctors, lawyers, etc are important to the growth and development of the society, so also are agriculturists/farmers, administrators, etc are important. It's not about how intelligent you are that motivates you to study a course but the area you think you can help the society and what you have passion for.

If I may ask, which institute of leaning are you and your course of study?
