National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has warned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to desist from what he described as attempts to destabilise the party. He insisted that the minister should “immediately resign” from the President Bola Tinubu administration if he cannot stop interfering in the party’s affairs. Basiru, in a strongly worded statement issued on Monday in Abuja said his attention had been drawn to what he described as “the tirade of the Minister of the FCT against my person and my office as the National Secretary of the APC,” following his position that “all members of the NWC must accord any sitting Governor his due respect and that the Governors remain the leaders of the Party in their States.” He expressed shock that “such an innocuous statement can elicit such uncouth responses from no less than a member of the Federal Executive Council.” Basiru insisted that it was incompatible for Wike to remain in the cabinet of an APC-led government while allegedly causing internal disarray within the party, stating, “he cannot be in the Federal Executive Council of an APC Government and be causing confusion within any organ or structure of the Party at any level, using the leverage of that same office.” He added that “the honourable thing to do is to resign his appointment as Minister.” Watch video for more details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXQYMG9JAr8 |

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2face, has spoken publicly about the growing tensions surrounding his marriage to Natasha, accusing members of his family of worsening the situation under the guise of trying to “save” him. The controversy, which has dominated social media discourse in recent days, reportedly began in the United Kingdom, where Natasha was allegedly heard raising her voice during a heated argument with the singer. The confrontation drew the attention of UK authorities and led to 2Baba’s brief arrest, according to circulating reports. The issue escalated further during a recent Instagram Live conversation with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where 2Baba and Natasha exchanged words openly on camera, leaving viewers alarmed at the intensity of the dispute. The viral clips have since fuelled widespread speculation about deeper cracks within the marriage, with many fans expressing concern for the singer’s emotional and mental state. Observers also noted a message from 2Baba’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, which many interpreted as a signal that the family had become actively involved and increasingly worried about the unfolding crisis. A major crisis is currently unfolding within the Nigerian Senate following the inclusion of social media commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, in the list of ambassadorial nominees. The controversial appointment, which comes despite Omokri’s past scathing criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has sparked intense factional battles and even led to the temporary shutdown of the lawmakers’ internal communication platform. Omokri’s name was among the 32 forwarded to the Senate for confirmation. However, his nomination has generated a storm of opposition, primarily due to a prior contentious remark where he reportedly labelled the current President a “drug baron.” Multiple sources told Sahara Reporters that Senate President Godswill Akpabio was instrumental in championing Omokri’s nomination, allegedly as a political reward. In an unexpected turn, however, Akpabio is now reportedly mobilizing his own loyalists to reject the very nominee he helped put forward. “The senate president had nominated Omokri as a reward for the hatchet job he did for him,” one source disclosed. “However, Akpabio is rallying some of his clique to screen Omokri out on the claim that he once attacked Tinubu and called him a drug baron.” More details in video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb3IdYoG0cY |

Social media users are reacting to a viral clip of music icon 2baba being arrested in the UK following an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha. Nigerian TV personality, Oseni Rufai, has revealed the monthly salaries of Nigerian ambassadors. This is following the list of Ambassadorial nominees forwarded to the national assembly by President Bola Tinubu on Saturday. Tinubu forwarded the names of 32 additional ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, following the recent submission of an initial three nominees. The list included former Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, Reno Omokri, former Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, among others. Ambassadors typically fall into the highest grade levels (GL 17 or equivalent), with additional allowances for overseas postings. Based on available data from government budget allocations, salary surveys, and reports on foreign service personnel costs, the basic salary is modest by international standards but is supplemented by substantial allowances. Exact figures can vary by posting location, experience, and currency fluctuations (as of November 2025, 1 USD is about 1,650 NGN). Galatasaray’s medical team will put Victor Osimhen through a crucial test today as the club races against time to have the Nigerian striker available for Monday night’s fiery derby with Fenerbahce. Osimhen has spent the past ten days recovering from a hamstring injury picked up while playing for Nigeria against Congo during the recent international break. The strain, which also involved internal bleeding, has forced him out of Galatasaray’s last two matches. His absence was felt most painfully during Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League, a result that brought an end to the club’s 33-match unbeaten run at home. Most of his rehabilitation has taken place in the gym, although the 26-year-old is expected to join the rest of the squad on the training ground today so the coaches and medical staff can judge whether he has a realistic chance of featuring in Kadıköy. Reports in Turkey suggest Osimhen has told those around him that he is willing to “make sacrifices” in order to be part of the derby squad. Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, is among African leaders and high-profile election observers currently stranded in Guinea-Bissau after military officers seized power on Wednesday in a coup d’état. Jonathan was part of a 36-member delegation on the joint observer mission led by the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Elders Forum (WAEF), deployed to the country to monitor the presidential election held on Sunday. The coup followed self-declared victory claims by President Umaro Embaló, who is seeking re-election, and his main challenger, Fernando Dias, even as Guinea-Bissau’s electoral commission had yet to release official results. The military takeover occurred after both candidates separately announced themselves as winners, despite the absence of certified results from the national electoral body. Following the coup, the military closed all land and air borders, shut down airports, and grounded civil movement, effectively trapping the observer delegation and several top officials in the country. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has dismissed claims by the former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, that the activism of pro-Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu led to the death of 30,000 individuals in the Southeast. IPOB described Orji Uzor Kalu as a liar and a distracted individual for making such a remark. Emma Powerful, the spokesman of the group, said the declaration arose from a malevolent spirit and a person who has chosen to barter his kin for selfish political gain. A statement by Powerful said Kanu evidence has shown that Kanu has consistently been targets of military aggression, violence, and killings backed by the State. The statement reads partly: “The worldwide family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) denounce the irresponsible and false claim from Senator Orji Uzor that 30,000 individuals lost their lives due to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s activism in the South East Region. “IPOB is extremely upset and enraged by Orji Uzor’s false statements, as his assertions are entirely fabricated and part of a deliberate campaign to undermine IPOB and MNK.
