Fashion / Do You Run A Salon Or Sell Wigs? These Tips Will Help You Sell More by olamideyelo: 8:51am On Aug 16, 2018

I was at the salon some months back and my hairstylist was ranting about how customers no longer come to the salon to make their hair and that wigs were taking over the market and no one was making wigs with her.

I asked her a few questions and gave her secrets that helped her make sales. She has made more than 20 wigs since and has orders pending for the festive season.

Celebrities / What Is Your Favorite 9ice Song Yet? by olamideyelo: 9:59am On Aug 15, 2018
9ice has been around for a long time and I witnessed him perform his old classics at a recent concert. so what is your favourite Adigun Alapomeji song yet?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9kZjiy5x6I

Look, 9ice is a legend, no matter what you think about him, he has made and still continues to make good music. He captivated us with oldies: Photocopy, 3310, energy, Street credibility (the greatest collaboration out of Naija yet), Gongo Aso and plenty of his songs. Wo, I can’t even shout, just watch the performance I was able to capture below and drop your comments, it was gbaski.

Music/Radio / Happy Fans Throw Bottles And Chairs Into The Air As Pasuma Performs On Stage by olamideyelo: 6:29am On Aug 14, 2018

At the time Phyno rounded off his performance, the Eagle’s club was already filled to the brim and the special guests aka Pasuma’s fans had taken their rightful places and cleared the seats waiting for IJOBA to come on stage. Pasuma’s hype man deserves non-stop supply of “33” for life for the work he did gearing the fans up and warming them up to receive Oganla, I was very excited about this too and after about 15 minutes of warm up. Oganla came in and the whole arena was filled with joy, he hailed all the people who came from Mushin, Ojuelegba, Surulere, Isale Eko and other areas.

The most surprising thing happened when it was about 5-minutes into Pasuma’s performance, I just saw chairs and bottles in the air, look it was not a joking ‘sturv’ but it was fascinating to watch how his fans were showing their excitements and throwing chairs and bottles into the air and on stage too. But, guess what? Pasuma didn’t stop singing, he just went on performing. It was there and there I knew I had to leave the arena before my nickname becomes "broken bottle".

Now let me fast forward to the performances, look, if I had money on me and were allowed to spray the artistes, Simi would have gone home with all my money and I would have probably trekked home. She is an all-rounder and performed excellently; JAMB question, Aimasiko, owanbe, joromi etc and gave us some Fuji vibes, I wanted her to perform Original Baby but she didn’t sha. Watch and see for yourself below, the mic almost messed her up but she triumphed still. She performed live with her band too. I STAN A QUEEN.

Family / 5 Reasons Why People Don’t Share Their Problems Or Ask For Help by olamideyelo: 7:20am On Aug 02, 2018
I was having a meeting with one of my mentors a few months ago about some of my challenges and while we were outlining steps to take on solving some of those issues, he paused and asked if I had an idea why people don’t like to share their problems. He explained further saying, a lot of people are going through so much, some don’t even know where their next meal is coming from but they’d rather starve than share or ask for help. He went on and on.

Romance / How I Branded A Sex Stimulant Biscuit I Named Spice by olamideyelo: 5:44am On Jul 30, 2018
After speaking to medical experts on the various products in the market, I decided it was time to know who my target audience would be so I set up an online survey and asked my social media connects to fill, didn’t get quite much data as I thought I would so I started initiating conversations with friends and starting telling one I met about the exciting project I was working on and trusting them to help provide insight to take it further. I spoke with young and old men and women, I wanted to know their opinions about sex stimulants and find out if they used them too. Trust me, these conversations were awkward to have because women don’t usually talk about things like this publicly in this part of the world. Talked to about 20 people at different times, I streamlined the insights I got from the 4 following points below:

Read Full Post here: http://olamideyelo.com/i-branded-an-adult-only-biscuit/

1. Most men don’t ask their partners how great the sex was after every experience

2. Most women don’t enjoy sex, they just endure through it

3. Women don’t want to be seen as sex machines, they want to be part of the experience

4. Women want to be able to express themselves sexually.

Career / For My Many Firsts, Thank You 'gbénga Sesan by olamideyelo: 9:06am On Jul 28, 2018
Fast forward to April 2013 when I was jejely scrolling down my twitter timeline and I saw a tweet about an opening for a social media and project manager from his Twitter handle. I was skeptical at first, should I apply? I don’t know anyone who knows this guy so I’m very unlikely to get the job, will a man of ‘Gbénga Sesan’s calibre hire a girl who doesn’t just have a third class but also studied at one of the least known universities in Nigeria? I was thinking about all the negatives.

Anyway, I applied for the job a day before the application was to close and I made a conscious effort to forget about it.

Celebrities / Don't Call Me Olamide BADDO, Call Me Olamideyellow by olamideyelo: 7:28pm On Jul 25, 2018
When I was in secondary school my Agricultural science teacher (Mr Adio) used to ‘bastardize’ my surname and call me Egbabrown, EgbaBlue, Egbayellow, my surname is originally spelt EGBAYELO, I didn’t use to find it funny at all and trust the ‘troublemakers’ in class to help me amplify it. I would cry so hard and I remember going to report to the school Principal countless number of times smileysmiley

Since the rapper, Olamide became popular, I get called Baddo alot.

Here is why you should call me OlamideYELLOW and not baddo

Business / 4 Steps For Developing Effective Nonprofit Communications Strategy by olamideyelo: 9:23am On Jul 21, 2018

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GThR54pzoMM

Nonprofit Communications Strategy – Having worked in the nonprofit sector for 4 years and trained over 250 nonprofit organizations on different aspects of social media, I realize the challenge most nonprofit organizations have communicating the work they do on social media and telling compelling stories is not about not having a solid social media strategy but a communication strategy.

Nonprofit organizations do a lot of work, I can tell you this for a fact, most even have as much as 4 projects if not more they work on at the same time and they need to communicate them to attract funding, volunteers and of course reach their target audience.
