Politics / Re: What Is The Point Of NLC/TUC Protest? Just Fun Day Off Work? by Olamusli(f): 8:00am On Jan 10, 2012
@jmaine try to understand dis the strike isn't aboout NLC/TUC and it is not only about subsidy, We are protesting about corruption and the insensitive nature of Government. If anything Jonathan shot himself in the foot on dis one cause he has opened peoples eyes to the inapprpriation going on in this Govt. As a whole! The clamour isn't just about subsidy removal, its about corruption, wasteful spending of the govt

Also the protest this time around is not the "NLC RITUAL" called industrial strike action; its people showing there grieviances, and pls tell me If the strike doesn't hold and people go about their usual activities; how do you think govt will understand people's grieviances!!! Especially in this dictatorship in which it is apparent that Jona is a cold hearted shoesless SOB and isn't interested in seeing the people's opinion let alone do something about it
Politics / Re: What Is The Point Of NLC/TUC Protest? Just Fun Day Off Work? by Olamusli(f): 4:58pm On Jan 09, 2012
@Bliss4lyfe, @jmaine
What are you people talking about, there is absolutely nothing tribal about this campaign alongside strike and this strike action isn't at all in anyway about NLC/or any union, This strike and outcry is purely about human beings, its about Nigerians YOU and I who pay taxes heavily, live in a society where hardship is the order of the day, in a society where there's no amenities or succour of any sort from Govt which should be but totally isn't. This strike is about someone struggling to buy unclean "pure water" to drink at 5naira now it is 10naira for one; it is about buying maggi knorr now at 15 instead of 10naira or 3 for 20,naira.
This strike is about what it translates to the poor man who earns 10000 per month to feed, clothes and send his children to "proper schools" to get educated- is dis possible.
This is about jonathan deciding selfleSsly, ignorantly, selfishly, un-intelligently at this time of the year with nigerians as the ressilient and positive people we are,he decided to throw this in our faces and also standing behind it; telling us we have no SAY in the matter!
This is a revolution and we will show him who is the Govt;
Do not forget what govt is, "A system for the PEOPLE, by the PEOPLE and For the PEOPLE;
I hope you get the point now if not totally atleast partially!!! But if unintelligently you still don't seeee the POINT let me knew!
I'd gladly provide you with other aides to understand what we true Nigerians are clamouring for

So get it right This Strike isn't about NLC/RELIGION or TRIBE, it is about the PEOPLE jonathan wants to further impoverish and leave in worse agonising situations!!! BE CORRECTED
Politics / Nasir El-rufai Tweets On Subsidy Saga by Olamusli(f): 9:07pm On Jan 06, 2012
Former Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-
Rufai has been criticizing President
Jonathan Government on twitter in the past few
hours. Read below and you can follow him on twitter
@elrufai for more .
Nasir El-Rufai - Those giving economic arguments
for or against fuel subsidy withdrawal miss the point
totally. It is not about economics. It is about TRUST!
Nasir El-Rufai - No Nigerian trusts GEJ’s
administration to use any money for the benefit of
the people. Funds are for pocketing by govt officials &
friends!
Nasir El-Rufai - The spending pattern & priorities of
GEJ since 2010 is evidence of who he cares for and
what. Let us look at his budget record from 2010….
Nasir El-Rufai - Between 2010-2011, GEJ has spent
N9.557 trillion. N4,427bn in 2010 budget, N645bn
supplementary in 2010, N4,485bn in 2011. The
results? ZERO
Nasir El-Rufai - Under his watch, we increased our
debt stock by about $20bn, ran down excess crude
from $6bn to zero, FX reserves from $45bn to $
30bn…
Nasir El-Rufai - Under GEJ, Dollar exchange rate
moved from >N140 to N160 today. Debt stock has
doubled to higher than 2005 levels. Interest rates
over 20%!
Nasir El-Rufai - And all this is while nearly 10 trillion
Naira has been spent on government officials, trips
abroad & perquisites/subsidies to politicians!
Nasir El-Rufai - Power supply improvement?
Minimal. Jobs created? Zero. Transport Infrastructure?
Zero. Agricultural output? Minimal. Private jets? Yes,
lots
Nasir El-Rufai - Let us look at the 2012 Budget
proposals in some details to see whether GEJ is
willing to reduce the high lifestyle of those in
power…,
Nasir El-Rufai - We will look at the budgets proposed
for three Presidency MDAs – the State House where P
& VP work, the Offices of the SGF & Head of Service
Nasir El-Rufai – The three MDAs intend to spend a
total of N27bn as “overheads” for 2012. Nearly N2 bn
will be spent traveling with N1.675bn in GEJ’s office!
Nasir El-Rufai - Stationery, refreshment & snacks in
the Presidency will consume about N2bn, with N1.6bn
spent by GEJ & his VP in 2012. Does that make
sense?
Nasir El-Rufai - The President & VP intend to spent
about N2.8bn to “maintain” their existing furniture,
generators, etc, & N238m for fuel! Is this prudent?
Nasir El-Rufai - Miscellaneous spending by the Villa
alone totals N1.7bn for food, honorarium & something
called “welfare packages” – another security vote!
Nasir El-Rufai - The SGF & Head of Service have over
N2.5bn for these “miscellaneous expenses” including
nearly N300m for “welfare” & N270m “security vote”!
Nasir El-Rufai - Why can’t some of these areas of
waste be cut to fund capital projects & others that
benefit the populace like the fuel subsidy?

Nasir El-Rufai - In the 2012 budget, NASS intends to
spend N150bn on itself, the same amount as in 2011
to pay those huge allowances. It has NOT been
reduced
Nasir El-Rufai - So we will spend about N320m for
every NASS member in 2012, as we did in 2011.
Where is the shared sacrifice? Where is
accountability?
Nasir El-Rufai - In 2012, FG will spend an average of
N2.47m on every federal employee. It spent about
N3.2 m on every ex-militant in 2011. What about us?
Nasir El-Rufai - We must resist the N8,000 tax being
imposed on every man, woman & child to fund the
fuel subsidy & insist that FG cuts its own
wastefulness!
Nasir El-Rufai - I will tweet further details of the
budget in due course….we must sensitize our NASS
members to rise to the occasion & rewrite this budget
Nasir El-Rufai - The issue with GEJ is simply that of
trust. He has wasted huge financial resources & put
us in debt in the last 20 months. We must be wary!
Nasir El-Rufai - We cannot trust with more money as
he will only waste more of it. That is the issue & he
can only earn that trust through small steps.
Politics / Re: Fuel Subsidy Removed - Full Transcript Of Press Release From The Pppra by Olamusli(f): 11:03pm On Jan 01, 2012
This country is seriously heading for the rocks and even the so called leaders are grossly Oblivious of dis, they decided to perfect the design of hardship for a common man all at once starting from 2011, lekki expressway toll (this is sad and extremely painful). Now to really translate this fuel subsidy issue (which at this rate I don't think our so-called leaders fully explored and digested the implication on a common nigerian; infact even an averge nigerian)
*scenerios*(assumptions)
*A common nigerian like me who spends 250 from jakande ajah to yaba would now have to pay about 500 I.e times 2, guess y cause bus driver would collect 200 for what he used to for 100 for; you cannot blame him becos ,
*A bus driver Who used to buy fuel let's say 20ltrs for 1300 (20*65 =1300) would now buy the same amount of fuel for 2860 (@143) or even 2760 (@138) . Who would blame the guy for charging times 2 of the fare, the guy has to buy fuel doesn't he,
*dont even let me get started on bike fare, which is on the high already o, at the end of  †ђε  day those riders might even have to change business line b4 lagos state even thinks of facing them out, dey would humbly bow out of the trade and most likely into the wonderful vices that have by God's intervention died down over  †ђε  last couple of yrs (armed robbery, yahoo yahoo, mecenaries, car jackers, ritual to mention but a few)
This country is in for the roughest ride of her life, unfortunately we are the grass
MAY GOD ALMIGHTY HELP us dis time around!!!!!
Nigerian leaders pls and plsss there is a threshold you shouldn't push us to; don't make us animals, cos the "hungry ones" fights more viciously than the well fed cry cry cry cry

try using tomato juice to wash your hands, 1 0r 2 fresh tomatoes would do, rub and leave the juice on hands for a couple of minutes then wash off with water  smiley
