I believe Buratai is the man to finish off Boko Haram. He so much understands the terrain and principals. |
One soldier was killed in an ambush Friday during a daring visit by the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, to troops currently battling Boko Haram terrorists in parts of Borno state. The army chief, who arrived Maiduguri first, set out on the journey through Mafa to Gamboru-Ngala border town where regrouping terrorists were dislodged recently. On the way to Gamboru-Ngala, Mr. Buratai, a Lieutenant General, stopped over in Mafa town where he addressed troops of the 7 Division, Nigeria Army currently manning the reclaimed community that is still deserted. He commended the soldiers for “a job well done” even as he assured them of improved welfare and allowances as he said such matters have been placed before the table of the president and commander-in-chief, Muhammadu Buhari. He however informed the soldiers that “there is still more job to be done and we have to do this once and for all so that all of us can go back to our respective barracks and continue with our normal jobs and soldiers”. As the convoy moved on to Dikwa, a message was sent in that an advance team was ambushed by Boko Haram terrorists and one soldier was killed while two others were also injured. The soldiers in advance however subdued the terrorists by killing five of them and arresting five others, who surrendered their arms. While the Chief of Army staff’s convoy proceeded to Dikwa, soldiers spotted suspected Boko Haram members in the bushe amidst flocks of cattle. Mr. Buratai stopped the convoy and ordered that the group be rounded up for investigation. An elderly herdsman confessed that four of the arrested suspects met them in the bush and forced them to move together. The four suspects later owned up that they were members of the Boko Haram. They were immediately arrested and sent back to Maiduguri. In Dikwa, the chief of Army staff was welcome with cheers by over 4000 internally displaced persons from Gamboru and neighbouring towns, who were full of praise and prayers for him and the soldiers. He addressed them in the local Kanuri language and assured them that they would soon be resettled as his troops were working round the clock to rid the area of all terrorists. The convoy later moved on to Ngala town where a large number of solders were met celebrating the liberation of the area. Lieutenant General Buratai addressed the troops and commended them for keeping the morale high. He urged them to be more vigilant and ensure no Boko Haram is left to cause any form of attack on troops and innocent civilians. He was accompanied on the trip by the GOC 7 Division and other top officers from the Army headquarters, while the Chief of Air Staff also made the trip by air. That is a 3 fold increase in a week. To even imagine that it is possible to make such, and we're not making it, is scary! 20 billion a week is over 1 Trillion a year! 1 Trillion a year is just a quarter of our yearly budget. So we are losing a quater of our budget every week in Customs alone! NNPC nko? NPA nko? NIMASA nko? |

Imagine a course like laboratory technology charging almost 500k per year on tuition. If you add classic accomodation, feeding and the rest, that totals like 900k a year. 4 year course = 3.6million naira. Student graduates (lets say they even dash him 1st class). Which job offers anything higher than 60k a month for lab technicians? This is an example of a course that shouldnt be a university course. Polytechnics at most. |
Behold the face of modern Christianity |
PDP cant even pay smart people for its propaganda. Some cyber cafe dullards who cannot think beyond their source of food. Imagine such baseless story! |
If you think Jose Mournhinho has no class by describing a 3-0 win as 'fake', you need to read what the OFFICIAL Chelsea website thinks of the match. Match report: Manchester City 3 Chelsea 0 NEWS 20 HOURS A Ramires goal incorrectly ruled out for offside with Man City a goal ahead changed the complexion of this early-season Premier League fixture. The Brazilian latched on to a brilliant Cesc Fabregas pass early in the second period and nudged the ball home but an errant offside flag denied us a deserved leveller. Sergio Aguero had put the hosts ahead having already been thwarted by the excellent Asmir Begovic on three occasions, while Diego Costa had a strong shout for a first-half penalty. We dominated after the interval and after Ramires’s goal was disallowed, Hazard drew a fine stop from Joe Hart. Two late City goals, from Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho, added some gloss to a final scoreline which did not accurately reflect the bigger picture. Jose Mourinho was forced to make two changes to the side that started against Swansea on the opening day. Asmir Begovic replaced the suspended Thibaut Courtois while Ramires came in for the injured Oscar, allowing Willian to move infield behind Diego Costa up front. The rest of the team was unchanged from last Saturday. Within 25 seconds of his first Chelsea start Begovic was called upon to make a telling contribution, denying Aguero who had raced clear on goal courtesy of a fine David Silva pass. It set the tone for an assured performance by the Bosnian. He confidently claimed a dangerous free-kick not long after. We had a good claim for a penalty with eight minutes played when Diego Costa was tripped by Fernandinho inside the box following good forward-thinking play from Ramires, but Martin Atkinson shook his head. It had been an even first quarter-of-an-hour, but in the space of 60 seconds Aguero twice brought the very best of Begovic, drilling a pair of shots low to his left. Both looked destined for the net but our keeper’s agility and strength of hand were on display for all to see, keeping the scores level. Two left-wing crosses, one at either end, produced further scoring opportunities with not 20 minutes gone. First, Hazard picked out Matic who powered a near-post header over. Then Kolarov whipped in a low centre that found Aguero. On the stretch, he scuffed his fourth presentable chance of the game wide. But the Premier League’s top marksman last term was to make no such mistake with his next opportunity, wriggling past Cahill inside the box before slipping his shot into the net via the inside of the post. Matic, Terry and Begovic at full stretch could do nothing to divert its route. Kompany cynically scythed Diego Costa down to earn the game’s first booking as we immediately got back on the front foot, and indeed that set the tone for a good Chelsea spell that included Fabregas worrying Hart with a 20-yarder. Before the break, Diego Costa was on the receiving end of a brutish aerial challenged from Fernandinho who followed his skipper into the book. The striker needed treatment and a bandage, not long after Cahill required attention for a bloody nose, picked up when he collided with Begovic. Kurt Zouma replaced Terry for the second period, which we started excellently. Ramires chested a Fabregas pass down and neatly finished past Hart but an offside flag cut the no.7’s celebrations, in front of the new South Stand at the Etihad, short. Replays showed he was onside and the goal should have stood. man-city-away-3-PA-23829341 Azpilicueta then looped a cross on to the top of Hart's net. On the other side of the pitch, Mangala resorted to WWE-style tactics to stop the ever-dangerous Diego Costa getting free down the right Not long after the hour mark passed, Mourinho introduced Juan Cuadrado for his first Premier League appearance this season. The Chelsea pressure was mounting and the royal-blue momentum nearly paid off with 20 minutes to go. Hazard lead a rapid break and picked out Diego Costa approaching the left-hand side of the box. He carried the ball, cut inside before squaring for last year’s Player of the Year. Hazard dropped a shoulder and fired for goal, but met his match in Hart. City proved more clinical at the other end as Kompany headed in Silva’s near-post corner, the inside of the post again benefitting the home side. Five minutes later, Fernandinho smashed a third goal from the edge of the box after the ricocheting ball ran in his path. Diego Costa hit the post in time added on and Hart was in the right place to block Hazard’s follow-up effort. It epitomised what had been a game of very fine margins. Madam Wakil is a potential scammer. She knows no Boko Haram. Fact. |
Wike is buying time for himself, but he can only run, he cant last the race. |
I am against homosexuality, but the law is correct against discrimination. However, there are reasonable limits. No one should be discriminated against on account of their 'modus operandi a sextum'. Once homosexuality is decriminalised in the US, it becomes a unacceptable to treat them differently. However, I believe there are limits. You cannot expect a pastor who works at a bakery to help u draw a graphically homo design on a cake. Just like no supreme court can force a Muslim to make a cake with the holy prophet on it the way Charlie Hebdo does. |
Nairaland no longer intellectually uplifting. I remember the old days of sensible arguments devoid of political ass licking. Congrats to the op and his likes for getting his fickle thread to the fp. The mod pushing such watery threads to the fp is also doing NL politics section a great service. Very soon, people will have to shift to sports or romance sections for intelligent debates. |
