Finally arrived in Canada yesterday via Egyptsair. Apart from the long time distance it was a smooth journey.
Nigeria experience: I was asked whom I intend to visit. I told her my husband and I had to show his pr card ( I had the printout with me) and marriage certificate because our surname doesn’t tally (I’m yet to do change of name).
Cairo: Only asked reason for visit and his pr card.
Canada: After declaration, I was only asked no of days I want to spend and who I came to visit and that was all.
Glory to Jesus. |

Julieni: Then your visa is ready... Go pick it up.
I didn't get collection mail for 7 days.. Went there, 3 people I met there got mails and there passport is not ready. But I did not get email update for days.. My passport was waiting.
While waiting for collection mail... Since your portal is showing visa details.. Go and collect your passport. I eventually got my passport delivered to me this afternoon finally! |

Julieni: Omo! Everything about this process is just unnecessarily stressful 🥺 At least you will sleep well tonight lol.
I got another mail again this evening that it has been couriered from Abuja OC today by their courier partner and I should track after 24 hrs.
Do you have an idea of the particular courier or if anyone else does please?
OK, I kept on tracking and the last email I got was on 5th June while tracker stopped on 8th.
I went there with positive mind.. Since uju submitted same day with me and got her passport on Friday.
I went there.. The crowd choke.. Can't even relate the experience there.
But I said.. Since am here, I will wait to see the end.
Fast-forward.. We later got into the building and then into the small hall at 2:59pm.
After about 45min.. They called my name.. Whereas I learnt some even received collection email and there passport is not there.
I suffer today sha.. But it was all worth it.
I for cry if they had said.. Come back next week.
My slippers even cut join.. During the rush. |

Julieni: Over 500 at vfs for collection.. Crazy Wow! Have you been able to collect yours? I got 3 emails on 7th of June, 1st it’s ready for collection at Abuja, 2nd it will be dispatched to where I applied and the 3rd that it has been dispatched (see attached). But the last email instead of it has been dispatched to Lagos, it still stated Abuja. I’m yet to receive it from the courier service that I opted for so I’m not even sure of where it is. Did anyone experience this please? Thanks.

Osasereee: Not true. I submitted mine in person to Lagos vfs last week Friday. Today makes it exactly one week or exactly 4 working days. Got a email this evening that it’s ready for collection. So my analysis states it doesn’t matter if it’s Abuja or Lagos. It’s just grace.
I’m happy I got mine this fast coz my flight is in 12 days time Nice….remember to give us landing gist o lol |

Emmafe: The emotional message sample, try to edit.
Template below, try to edit it.
Dear Visa Officer,
I hope this email finds you well.
My name is ***, I am contacting you with regards to my Temporary Resident Visa Application.
It’s been 10 months since my wife left Nigeria to pursue a graduate certificate in Canada. Due to the distance and delay on my application, we’ve missed many beautiful moments to celebrate together as a family. The effect is taking a toll on our mental and emotional health, everyday day that passes by, we’re always hoping and looking forward to a day we’ll be in each other’s arms again.
I got biometrics verification letter on *** without a decision which is strange. For over 3 weeks we keep hoping for a decision on my application, we’re emotionally drained.
I kindly request your understanding and compassion in considering my visa application. Approving it would not only fulfill my dream of being with my wife but also showcase the significance of empathy in the visa process.
Your positive response would greatly alleviate my distress and bring back the fading joy in my life. Thank you for your attention, and I eagerly await your favorable decision.

Emmafe: I don’t think it’s mandatory but to be on the safe side. I’m chatting with someone, his wife is traveling on Thursday, he booked one way ticket 1.4m, so i understand why he didn’t book return. I’m waiting on her experience to make my decision. I don’t think I want to book return, na to look for good excuse incase of interrogation. I will also drop her POE experience once she lands on Friday.
N.B: Those going for tourism should just book return tickets. I don’t think there’s excuse in this category. Hello Emmafe, Are you visiting your spouse who is a Permanent residence? |

Hello everyone, I just confirmed that I am pregnant and I’ve been thinking of the hospital to use. 1. Lagoon Hospital at Adeniyi Jones Ikeja 2. Royan at ojodu berger 3. Or a general hospital.
Does any one have a first hand experience with any of these hospitals? Your response will be highly appreciated.
Thank you. |
