@victjustice.

Let me emphatically tell you that your thread should be nominated for the "thread of the year" award. That was a very good thinking.
EVERYBODY in da house appreciate your thread including the critics.

As a matter of fact, the critics mail simply indicates that they envy you for beating them to this noble idea.

Personally, I will like to ask about the real-sector/mortgage in Iberia/Spain Islands, do you think its a good thing to tap into for investment purpose?

@ Wendy

kindly send the detailed information (i.e. prospectus) of CR services to me. I have sent you a mail. Becasue I'm in the industry, I can comfortably tell you that an average of 250 pple apply for one form of credits/facilities.
Again, there is an impending explosion in the consumer banking that is about to 'rock' nigerian market in form of mortgage, auto loan among others. moreso, a credit rating agency is a long time need in the banking industry.

Sum it up, it should be an interesting one!

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by olat(m): 6:38am On May 18, 2007
Ideally, I dont like contributing to religious thread 'cos almost everybody in-house is already bias towards their belief and our disussions does not appear matured or objetive. The special thing about kabba is that its a mosque built by Ibrahiim (A.S) who prayed that Allah should bless the house and make it a point of convergence for the generations of faithfuls to come. Kabba is where the Muslims face when praying and it signifies unity - - All Muslims in the world face one single Kaaba and of course via various geographical directions, by virtue of the position of the position of the kaaba to my current geographical location. THATS SIMPLE AND CLEAR!

But why the mention of the 'east' ? Because, we all face the Middle East which incidentally is the centre of the world. So, pple make a passing comment that we face EAST implying that we face the Middle East.

Rabbul Mashrikaini Wal maghribain - The Lord of the two Easts and Wests - This is language stuff - Lugathan Arabiya - You see in translation, you make some nearest in meaning for lack of most appropriate words to use -

Rabbul - The Lord

mashrikainin - The two places where the sun rises (this was tranlated to East, for convenience)

Maghribain - The two places where the sun sets. (this was tranlated to West, for convenience)

I hope this suffices for an objective mind.
Travel / Re: Woman Loses 11.8 Million Naira To US Immigration by olat(m): 7:32am On May 17, 2007
I am a little bit into Fraud investigation. The only thing that is obvious here is her failure to declare her possession.
She could have made the money legitimately via real estates or stock trading. Infact, there are empirical evidence that she could have made the money on our stock exchange and even more. If only she had invested her money a million naira in either of NASCON, AFRO OIL or COSTAIN in January, she will have nothin short of 1000%.

But why will she NOT declare remains a suspicion. Perhaps, this was not her first time and she's been getting away with it. Is that possible? So guyz in the US that knows about law, if her source is confirmed to be legit, what could be the range of punishment?
Politics / Re: Atiku To Contest In 2007 Presidential Election - Supreme Court by olat(m): 1:11am On Apr 17, 2007
@lewa,

Thanks for the exposition.

@ all

We need to understand one fact. Where are we politically as a nation? It is fool-hardy to think that pple like Pat Utomi will just rise up and become the president of a nation like Nigeria now considering our antecedent. Its a gradual process. people like them will come as Ministers, policy makers, think-tanks, then as Vice President then a President - God willing. It takes time to build such political consciousness among our political illiterate and semi illiterate citizens and most importantly confronting the ruling 'cabals'. Remember, its not me and you that constitutes majority of voters. have you taken time to analyse those that votes and their level of political and governance awareness?
Now, back to Atiku's case. One thing that gladdens my heart is that Atiku won against Obasanjo's 'dictatorship'. in the last few years, we have been living in this country according to the mood, whims and caprices of obj. If we look at corruption in all facets not necessarily financial. You will simply conclude that both Atiku and Obasanjo are thieves! But its good for Atiku to win so that Obasanjo will be humbled against his "arrogant and ignorant posture" and as for Atiku, he will always be conscious not to tread the same path of arrogancy. The greater benefit is for us the masses ithat in every thing mortal have a say!
Finally, I want to dough my cap for Atiku for being courageous inspite of seemingly insurmountable challenges and Tinubu, the master strategist. In everything there are lessons to learn.
Religion / Re: Do Islam And Christianity Permit The Use Of Condoms? by olat(m): 11:26pm On Feb 16, 2007
From the Islamic point of view. :As we all know, adultery and fornication are sins. As such, using condom as a weapon against HIV/AIDS between unmarried partners is null and void!
Howeve, the withdrawal method between married partners is NOT disallowed in Islam. Following that spirit using condom between married parners could be permissble.
I hope this answer the question from the Islamic view point.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: What's Your Favorite Ayah Or Surah In The Quran? by olat(m): 4:20pm On Jul 20, 2006
Well, cant really say, but I love Surat Duha, its a giver of hope
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
93:1 By the Glorious Morning Light,
93:2 And by the Night when it is still,-
93:3 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased.
93:4 And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present.
93:5 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased.
93:6 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)?
93:7 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance.
93:8 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent.
93:9 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness,
93:10 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard);
93:11 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim!

and Surat Fusilat verse 3x,
Ina ladhina qolu robuna lahu thuma istaqomu, tatanazalu alaihim li malaika ala tahafu wala tahzanu wabshiru bili janati lati kuntun tuadun
41:30 In the case of those who say, "Our Lord is God", and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): "Fear ye not!" (they suggest), "Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised!
41:31 "We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!-
41:32 "A hospitable gift from one Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!"

Business / Re: Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) by olat(m): 1:39pm On Jun 12, 2006
Hi guyz,

I believe we all understand the priniciple of Investment, whether or not a Company will thrive till eternity should not be our concern. I believe, we all want to trade with figures on the floor of the stock xchange.

Any moment from now, transcorp will come out with IPO @ around 10 naira. It simply means guyz that bought @ 6 naira like 2 months ago, can make over 60% ROI within 3 months.
I also bet you that within 2 months after being listed on the stock exchange the shares will trade for nothing short of N15 (whether its hype or real performance of the company). This is a real bullish market. Make ur money and forget about the politics, did i make sense folks?

Travel / Re: Third Mainland Bridge May Collapse Soon? It Vibrates by olat(m): 5:42pm On Jun 05, 2006
I live around Ogudu and work in Victoria Island. If u know Lagos, then u know that I have no choice but to pass through the Third Mainland bridge about 10-14 times in a week (sometimes inclusive of weekends).
By God's grace, I will be passing through the bridge on my way home this evening.

Yeah, I know it vibrates a number of times commercial as well as private cars broke down. I have had to go down and step on bridge. It truly vibrates and sometimes could be scary. On the other side, its a wonderful sight @ night. You can see Lekki, Ajah parts of Ikorodu (Majidun) among others.

THE TRUTH IS THE BRIDGE WILL NOT COLLAPSE, atleast NOT for now.

Cheers all!

Family / Re: Can You Marry Someone From A Broken Home? by olat(m): 11:41pm On Feb 24, 2006
I really can't understand this unnecessary fear. Do u know that almost 50% of an average young guyz/girls actually come from a broken home. Y? 'cos the family unit system has broken down in our society. 80% of these pple come out strongly, well determine to face the future and have a settled family for themselves. They are very sensitive and totally avoid 'repeating history' They r more cautious and careful in a relationship. I am not just talking theories and exposing facts around me, please that is definitely NOT an issue.

Its all about a King that mistreat his pple (the pple of Jogbo). He exploit them and denies them of the economic benefit of the state (just like Niger Delta). Hope u remeber now, Atleast u'll remeber the supposed Princess (Araparegangan) and the Prince (Aresajabata). Incidentally, the Arasejabata was my school girl
TV/Movies / Re: Best Yoruba Movies Of All Time? by olat(m): 11:00pm On Feb 24, 2006
All of u should just go get all the Mainframe collections, viz:
Saworoide, Oleku, Thunderbolt, Oga Mako (I just forgot the title-about customs), Agogo-Ewo, Campus queen, Yellow card, they are all too much.
Then the second batch, just go and get all OGD piuctures (Tade Ogidan films). From Hostages, Diamond ring, Dangerous twins, Madam Dearest etc. You 'll be proud to be a Nigerian and an African too.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Description Of Paradise by olat(m): 8:21pm On Feb 24, 2006
@Kismat & @Nuru

I have read some of you too postings (even outside the Muslim thread). I appreacite them, and I am most happy to meet u.
Islam as practise by the Prophet Muh'd (SAW) is simple. It rest on the caridanality of God consciousness and Islamic consciousness.
The faith of Islam is about Taqwa. Thats the root of all activities. Then, we graduate to God's consiousness.
God consciousness is to understand God as the creator (Rububiyah) and as the Contoller of the Worlds (Khuluiyah). Then we talk about Asmau sifat (to believe in His attributes ie that Allah is Ar Rahman - The Merciful, He shows his mercy to all mankind irrespective of his/her inclinations towards God or humanity invariably ur spiritual inclinations does not relates to your material success).
When we talk about Islamic consciousness then we mean creating Paradise on earth. As a vicegerent of Allah on earth, our ultimate goal is to create PARADISE on earth. What is PARADISE on earth? That is to create a balance society where there will be love, tranquility and serenity. Where there is 'contempt' 'and satisfaction'. Where every human being is cherished (irrespective of the spiritual leanings). This is by being 'God likeness', thus exhibiting Allah's attributes of Ar Rahman - The Mericiful.

I hope u understand and can go on and on and on, fi Amonal lah, brethren.

NB: i wouldn't know if u can make ur contribution to this thread. Perhaps, u may liberate us: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-6961.0.html.
